Ban Appeal, March 2026

{{ping|Bishonen}}
{{unblock reviewed|reason=Hello, It has been two years since my general editing ban and topic ban (WP:TBAN ↗), based on my Wiki edit history that has been so far:
1A. I recognize that my edits were causing edit-warring (WP:WAR ↗)
1B. I had infact created issues with some users/admins by my rude behavior.
I was blocked for editing articles that were involved in the Afghanistan ↗, Pakistan ↗ and India ↗ which caused following responses:
2A. First notification on 24 February 2023 .https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_talk:Starkex/Archive_1#Introduction_to_contentious_topics ↗
2B. Second notification on 8 May 2023. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_talk:Starkex/Archive_1#Introduction_to_contentious_topics_2 ↗
2C. Third notification on 11 June 2023. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_talk:Starkex/Archive_1#Introduction_to_contentious_topics_3 ↗
2D. Fourth and final notification on 19 July 2023. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_talk:Starkex/Archive_1#Introduction_to_contentious_topics_4 ↗
3A. First notification on 16 August 2022. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_talk:Starkex/Archive_1#August_2022 ↗
3B. Second notification on 16 April 2023. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_talk:Starkex/Archive_1#April_2023 ↗
3C. Two simultaneous but final notifications on 8 July 2023:
3C-A. Earlier at 14:48 (UTC) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_talk:Starkex/Archive_1#Reverting ↗
3C-B. Latest at 15:03 (UTC) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_talk:Starkex/Archive_1#July%202023 ↗
Due to my ignorance of these issues this led to:
-----------------------------
('''Amendedment''' as requested by user 331dot):<br>
''Q1: What is a Ban?''<br>
<u>Definition</u>: A ban in Wikipedia refers to a formal prohibition by which a Wikipedian user can't edit any specific page or all of Wikipedia, a ban may either be with a specific time duration or may be indefinite.<br>
<u>Answer</u>: This means that I am not allowed to edit certain topics/articles however my account would still work.

''Q2: What is a Block?''<br>
<u>Definition:</u> Blocking is the method by which administrators technically prevent users from editing Wikipedia. Blocks may be applied to user accounts (including temporary accounts), IP addresses, and IP address ranges, for either a definite or an indefinite time, to all or a subset of pages. Blocked users can continue to access Wikipedia, but cannot edit any page they are blocked from (including, if appropriate, their own user pages). In most cases, a site-wide blocked user will only be able to edit their own user talk page.<br>
<u>Answer</u>: '''(This is in particular my case)''', I can't edit any article that includes my userpage however I still have access to my user-talkpage.<br>
''Q3: Why should we trust you will abide...''<br>
<u>Answer</u>: You asked me why you should trust me now. You can trust me now because I now realize that I was confusing expiration of a lock (block) with the expiration of a behavioral rule (ban). I will once again reiterate that I will not edit India/Pakistan/Afghanistan because now I respect the ban itself.
-----------------------------
I have now presented all of the concerning violation history, now keeping all of this record in mind, I am now in <u>good-faith appealing</u> my '''General Edit ban''', Now I have to say that, I am sincerely sorry for every violation of WP clauses that I did in Wikipedia that was due to my rather earlier ignorance, as of the time I am writing this appeal I am fully aware of my actions now and pledge to not make any edits on the earlier mentioned topics of India ↗, Pakistan ↗ and Afghanistan ↗ considering that my topic ban is still active and will require a separate appeal and keeping in mind I will not make any edits on any topics concerning them.

I further pledge to instead spend my time improving Wikipedia by instead focusing my time on improving grammar, information, adding sources etc. throughout the site so that the 'Pedia benefits the world.

<span data-dtsignatureforswitching="1"></span>|accept=I will give you another chance. I will inform you that this will probably be the last chance you are given; if you are blocked again, it will likely take a long time before you can be unblocked again. Make this chance count. Good luck. Courtesy ping to {{u|Bishonen}}. 331dot (talk) 15:39, 13 March 2026 (UTC)}}
Please explain in your own words the difference between a ban and a block; see WP:BAN ↗ and WP:BLOCK ↗. You're still kinda conflating the two, perhaps because English may not be your primary language. Please also explain why we should now trust you will abide by your topic ban when you haven't yet. 331dot (talk) 09:04, 13 March 2026 (UTC)
:Thanks, Dot. Your last chance seems good to me. Bishonen &#124; tålk 19:45, 13 March 2026 (UTC).
