Buddy Fields

Hello,

I saw you restore the previous version of the Buddy Fields (baseball) ↗ page.

While Baseball-Reference hasn't updated their Negro league data since 2023 ↗, Seamheads.com consistently updates. At some point in the last few months the Buddy Fields Seamheads profile was deleted (notice how it just redirects to their main page ↗) Most of those stats (which can still been seen at the now-outdated MLB.com page) now lie in the Seamheads page of James Field ↗ MLB.com must have updated more recently than BR, because their Buddy Fields page ↗ has no stats, as they have been moved to James Field ↗.

This usually happens when Seamheads researchers (mainly Gary Ashwill) find information to more accurately identify a player. Baseball-Reference should be updating their Negro league data with the latest from Seamheads at some point, but they don't seem to have any sort of timetable for that. Penale52 (talk) 19:03, 26 April 2026 (UTC)

:Hi. It is confusing, at least to me, and you seem to know more about the subject than I do, but there were so many differences, starting with the spelling of Field vs Fields, different places of birth, 1890 birth date for James but none for Buddy, different rookie years, with two different listings with different career stats at baseball-reference.com, that it looks like they must be two different players. But if you're confident they're the same, I'll just put a note on the talk page. Station1 (talk) 03:27, 27 April 2026 (UTC)

Here is the schedule:

Please note the following:

Ask any questions about the process at the talk page ↗. Later, a user talk message will be sent to official candidates with additional information about the process.

Hello. The reasons for changing "Bizcocho" to "Bizcocho (pastry)" or another name, for example "Bizcocho (xyz)," are several. I will post it on the discussion page of the current "bizcocho ↗" entry on the English Wikipedia. When I have it done, I will let you know on User talk:Station1. Thanks, and regards. May 2026 Administrator Elections – Voting Phase

<div style="border: 5px solid #ABCDEF; padding: 0.5em 1em 0 1em;" role="article">
right|80px ↗
The voting phase of the May 2026 administrator elections has started and will continue until {{Administrator elections status/data|May 2026|end}} at {{Administrator election time|end}} UTC. You can participate in the voting phase at '''Wikipedia:Administrator elections/May 2026/Voting phase ↗'''.

As a reminder, the schedule of the election is:

In the voting phase, the candidate subpages close to public questions and discussion, and everyone who qualifies to vote ↗ has a week to use the SecurePoll ↗ software to vote, which uses a secret ballot ↗. You can see who voted, but not who they voted for. Please note that the vote totals cannot be made public until after voting has ended and as such, it will not be possible for you to see an individual candidate's vote total during the election. The suffrage requirements ↗ are similar to those at RFA.

Once voting concludes, we will begin the scrutineering phase, which will last for a few days, perhaps longer. Once everything is certified, the results will be posted on the results page ↗ (this is a good page to watchlist), and transcluded to the main election page ↗. In order to be granted adminship, a non-recall candidate must have received at least 70.0% support, calculated as Support / (Support + Oppose), and a minimum of 20 support votes. Recall ↗ candidates must achieve 55.0% support ↗. Because this is a vote and not a consensus, there are no bureaucrat discussions ↗ ("crat chats").

Any questions or issues can be asked on the election talk page ↗. Thank you for your participation. Happy electing.

You may be eligible to vote in the U4C election

<section begin="announcement-content" />
I am contacting you because you previously voted in elections related to the Universal Code of Conduct Coordinating Committee (U4C) ↗. You may be eligible to vote in the current U4C election, which is open now and closes on 2 June 2026. You can find out more about the candidates and the election on the election page on Meta ↗, and from there you can access the vote itself. Your participation in these elections is important to the governance of Wikimedia communities, and your time spent learning about the candidates and voting is appreciated.
