Hi Svanesaang. I see a few of your recently created articles about paintings in the new pages queue ↗. I think it's great that you're passionate about art and are trying to improve our coverage of it. That said, could you try to be a bit more careful about using subjective terms in "wikivoice"? For example, Portrait of Madame François Buron ↗ says that {{tq|The composition emphasizes her calm, introspective expression and creates a sense of intimacy and immediacy}}. Opinions like this should be attributed ↗ ("According to art critic X, the composition..."). Let me know if you have any questions. <span style="color:darkorchid">Clovermoss</span><span style="color:green">🍀</span> (talk) 01:25, 13 August 2025 (UTC)

:Hi @Clovermoss, thanks for reviewing my recent articles and for your kind words about my interest in art. I appreciate the reminder about avoiding subjective language in the main text. I’ll go back and revise Portrait of Madame François Buron (and any similar cases) to either rephrase those parts in a neutral tone or attribute them to reliable sources, as you suggested. Thanks again for taking the time to point this out — I’m still refining my approach to "wikivoice" and your feedback is very helpful.Svanesaang (talk) 01:37, 13 August 2025 (UTC)
::Well I noticed that you're relatively new and I try to be encouraging ↗. Wikipedia can be a bit of a maze sometimes but it's good that you already got the formatting down etc. The rest comes with time and practice. :) My first article actually looked like this ↗ when I started the draft and look how it is now.
::While I'm here, I should tell you about Wikipedia:WikiProject Visual arts ↗. Art is not really my area of expertise but wikiprojects can be a great place to collaborate with others that share your interests. <span style="color:darkorchid">Clovermoss</span><span style="color:green">🍀</span> (talk) 01:43, 13 August 2025 (UTC)
:::Hello Svanesaang, and welcome. I too saw your two new pages and have made quite a few small but important styling and navigation additions. Maybe take a look at each one to view what I changed or added and why. You've picked some good topics, nice work. Thanks. Randy Kryn (talk) 03:22, 13 August 2025 (UTC)
::::Hi Randy Kryn, thanks a lot for the welcome and for taking the time to improve the pages. I’ll check out your edits so I can learn from them. Really appreciate the help! Svanesaang (talk) 17:41, 23 August 2025 (UTC)
:::::Thanks. Nice to have another visual arts editor. Wikipedia's visual arts collection is second to none, in my opinion. Many editors write or have written (I don't very often, mainly watch pages and edits like I did with your articles, plus create a lot of visual arts navboxes), and others do their own thing. Enjoy, and feel free to ask any questions at the art editors Wikiproject mentioned by {{u|Clovermoss}} above to get a topic before people who page watch that talk page. Roman Youth with Horse ↗ moved to draftspace

An article you recently created, Roman Youth with Horse ↗, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable ↗, independent sources ↗. <small>(? ↗)</small> Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability ↗ is of central importance ↗ on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace ↗ (with a prefix of "<code>Draft:</code>" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline ↗ and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Dan arndt (talk) 04:01, 10 September 2025 (UTC)

:Hi Dan arndt, thanks for your note. I understand your concern regarding verifiability. However, I believe the page already satisfies Wikipedia’s requirements for reliability and notability:
:The painting is listed on the official website/catalogue of the museum where it is currently held, which is a reliable and independent institutional source.
:In addition, the work is already included in another Wikipedia article (List of paintings by Jacques-Louis David ↗), which establishes its recognition as part of the artist’s documented oeuvre. Svanesaang (talk) 11:01, 10 September 2025 (UTC)
::A problem though, the painting is attributed by the museum to David's workshop and not to the artist himself. So all mention of David as the artist should probably be removed, including the navbox, category, See also list mention, etc. That said, the museum attribution is usually enough to keep a visual arts article in mainspace, so once all the David mentions are fixed regarding his workshop the page should be ready. Randy Kryn (talk) 12:00, 10 September 2025 (UTC)
:::Thanks Randy Kryn, for pointing that out. You’re absolutely right — since the Detroit Institute of Arts attributes Roman Youth with Horse to David’s workshop rather than to David himself, all mentions of him as the direct artist should be removed. I’ll go through the article again to make sure the attribution is consistent: adjusting the infobox, categories, “See also” section, and any navboxes that list it under David’s paintings.I appreciate the clarification. Once I make those changes, the page should be properly aligned with the museum’s attribution and ready to stay in mainspace. Svanesaang (talk) 12:29, 10 September 2025 (UTC)
::::It needs to satisfy WP:GNG ↗, demonstrating significant coverage, not just an inclusion in a museum catalogue, in multiple reliable secondary sources. Dan arndt (talk) 01:42, 11 September 2025 (UTC)

Flower Sellers of London (Doré) ↗ moved to draftspace

Thanks for your contributions to Flower Sellers of London (Doré) ↗. Unfortunately, I do not think it is ready for publishing at this time because '''it needs more sources to establish notability'''.

I’ll be adding more reliable references and expanding the context to address these points. Once the draft is improved, I’ll submit it again for review. Appreciate your time and guidance.
