Edit at Talk:Syrian civil war#Map of the Civil War/War ongoing or not? ↗
In this ↗ edit you state: {{tq|First off, if you're gonna revert the photo collage and change it back to a 2026 map, at least have the logical reasoning to also change the end date on the infobox from 2024 to present, otherwise it just doesn't make any sense.}} Inferring that I have been illogical because I have not followed your version of logic is arguably not particularly civil and I suggest you strike it. I am not going to disrupt WP to prove a point by changing the date unilaterally without gaining consensus through discussion. That would be like replacing the map with a collage when an ongoing discussion has not reached a consensus for that action. Cinderella157 (talk) 04:17, 24 January 2026 (UTC)
:@Cinderella157 Fine, but you're actually proving my point that there is firm consensus on the end of the civil war, and based on that historical precedent (and now growing consensus) that an image collage is the best way to organize an infobox of a historical conflict. Fact is that the reversion was to an organizational style that is inherently illogical, and it is not "my version of logic" that a map should be within the time frame of the event it is referencing to, but rather basic common sense of relevance. I also don't see how following historical precedent by placing an image collage is disruptive while replacing it with a map with the wrong time frame isn't so. In any case, the current discussion will determine consensus for the future of the infobox. TeddyRoosevelt1912 (talk) 21:20, 24 January 2026 (UTC)
In this ↗ post, you use somewhat pejorative language that focuses on the contributor, not the content (see WP:CONTENTNOTCONTRIB ↗). I suggest you strike that part which is inappropriate. Cinderella157 (talk) 08:22, 30 January 2026 (UTC)
:I don't consider it problematic as it is still focused on shifting the topic of discussion towards discussing image policy. But I would also like to not argue over this, so I'll reword it to address your concerns. TeddyRoosevelt1912 (talk) 21:57, 30 January 2026 (UTC)

:@Tanline666 Thank you for letting me know about this, but I do want some elaboration on the issue, is the problem the source itself, the direct quoting, or maybe something else? I hope to improve the section and would like to avoid having this issue again. Thanks TeddyRoosevelt1912 (talk) 00:43, 5 June 2026 (UTC)
::To clarify, the issue is with directly quoting the web page with no modifications. From checking the website's legal info, it seems that all of its text is copyrighted and is not licensed under Creative Commons. Therefore, the text itself would have to be rewritten.
