OK, I've contacted the person who I am writing the article about and he has supplied three photos that he is happy for me to use and told me who the photographer is; is that OK?

They need to be clear that they are the copyright holders and that the material is being licensed under an acceptable free license ↗. Hi Terngirl, in this edit ↗ at Gendered associations of pink and blue ↗, you tried to add a citation needed template{{snd}}that would have introduced a tag like this{{cn}} had it been successful; but what happened instead, is that it ended up like this: <code><nowiki>{{</nowiki>Citation needed ↗<nowiki>}}</nowiki></code> based on very strange wikimarkup including a bunch of <code>&lt;code></code> and <code>&lt;nowiki></code> tags, that looked like this in Preview mode:
