Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited List of people with given name Michael ↗, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Michael Chan ↗<!-- ([//dispenser.info.tm/~dispenser/cgi-bin/dablinks.py/List_of_people_with_given_name_Michael check to confirm] | [//dispenser.info.tm/~dispenser/cgi-bin/dab_solver.py/List_of_people_with_given_name_Michael?client=notify fix with Dab solver])-->. Re: Minor Edits
25px|alt=Information icon ↗ Hi TheAmazingRaspberry! I noticed that you recently marked an edit as minor that may not have been. Any edit that changes the ''meaning'' of an article is not a minor edit, even if it only concerns a single word. Please see Help:Minor edit ↗ for more information. Thank you. :The thing is, unlike other methods of death, vehicular homicides are generally unintentional, and there generally isn't a notable racial disparity because of that. Shootings, beatings, tasers, are all caused by intentional actions by police officers, but car accidents aren't. So that's why I wouldn't include vehicular homicides. Removal of content from University campus protest article
Hi there, I saw you removed my addition to the Australia section in this diff ↗.
You left the edit summary "Source says nothing about encampments" but if I go to the source, I can find in 5 seconds this paragraph:
''"Five pro-Palestine encampments established at universities across Melbourne: Pro-Palestine encampments have spread to five universities in Melbourne with the establishment of permanent protests at RMIT, Deakin and La Trobe."''
Why did you remove the content saying it doesn't mention encampments when it clearly does?
The source in question: https://www.theguardian.com/australia-news/live/2024/may/06/australia-news-live-domestic-violence-nsw-chris-minns-jobseeker-budget-anthony-albanese-david-mcbride-whistleblower?page=with:block-663825778f080b5e6ba93794&filterKeyEvents=false#liveblog-navigation
GraziePrego (talk) 04:49, 7 May 2024 (UTC)
:My apologies, I've just looked over it again and found that it does mention those universities. Wouldn't say it "clearly does" given that it's mentioned in one section, and this appears to be a general Australian News article given that it mentions several other events in the country and the top headline is about Synergy360. Go ahead and re-add it if you haven't already, but consider finding a source that actually focuses on those encampments instead of a one-sentence mention in a general compilation article. Cheers! "technically not violence"
Hi, this is about your edit https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Political_violence_in_the_United_States&diff=1311041243&oldid=1311040817 that removed my contribution to the article. Right as the very first two words in the article you can find a link to a definition ↗. And the matter I introduced into the article fits that definition. Schrovin (talk) 11:35, 13 September 2025 (UTC)
:Do you have any sources that describe the internment of Japanese Americans as political violence? Your personal definition is not relevant and could be seen as WP:ORIGINALRESEARCH ↗. If you can find a source that describes internment as an act of political violence, then it could fit into the article. TheAmazingRaspberry (talk) 12:22, 13 September 2025 (UTC)
Years in Michigan
Please do not change tenses in these articles. Encyclopedia articles about historical events should be written in past tense. We are not writing drama; we are reporting on history. Cbl62 (talk) 18:12, 1 November 2025 (UTC)
:Every other "{year} in {location or topic}" article is written in present tense (see 2025 in the United States ↗, 1945 in Germany ↗, 2005 in video games ↗, etc.) That's just how these articles are written. TheAmazingRaspberry (talk) 18:20, 1 November 2025 (UTC)
:: 1. That's not how every other "year in" article is written (see 1989 in Michigan ↗, 1990 in Michigan ↗, 1993 in Michigan ↗, 1994 in Michigan ↗. 2. It's not encyclopedic to report on historic events in the present tense. 3. Other stuff exists is not a valid rationale for bad style. Please either stop or provide a reasoned rationale (not "other stuff exists") as to why present tense is appropriate. Cbl62 (talk) 18:39, 1 November 2025 (UTC)
:::The linked articles are ones ''you'' wrote, of course they're not gonna be consistent with other articles. And what's "encyclopedic" or "bad style" is a matter of opinion; I write entries in these articles in present-tense because that's how these articles are typically written. if you think that's bad style and want to petition to have it changed, go do that somewhere else. Create a discussion on a talk page somewhere where people will see it. But in the meantime, I will continue writing these in the same tense that the rest of them are written. Have a great day, Michigander. TheAmazingRaspberry (talk) 19:55, 1 November 2025 (UTC)
:::: I hear you, but you're avoiding the real question. Do you personally and truly think it's good encyclopedic style to be writing about historic events of the '''''past''''' in the present tense? Cbl62 (talk) 20:44, 2 November 2025 (UTC)

I'm also curious how you do this so effectively so that I can help. There is ongoing issues with Wikipedia neglecting non-English speaking countries and territories, or more generally, anything outside of the lower 48 of the United States. Raskuly (talk) 21:24, 1 November 2025 (UTC)
:Thank you! For Puerto Rico I usually go to the Spanish-language Puerto Rican news pages and search for "tiroteo" (shooting) or "masacre" (massacre; Puerto Rico uses this term for crimes that result in three or more deaths). Then I use the Google Chrome translator to read the article in English and see if it fits. I also occasionally search the news sites for other U.S. territories, which is easier because those are typically in English, though they also have lower crime and populations so there usually isn't anything. :Alternatively, if you want to extract the colleges/coords yourself, you can take the Wikimedia Commons data, save it to your computer as a json, and run the following commands in a terminal to get the colleges or coordinates, respectively:
:{{code|jq -r '.data.features[].properties.title' Untitled.json}}
:{{code|jq -r '.data.features[].geometry.coordinates' Untitled.json}}
:If you do this, you'll have to replace Untitled.json with the name of the json file on your computer, and make sure your terminal is in the same folder as the json file. If it works properly, it should show the list of colleges or list of coordinates, respectively.
:I hope this helps you! TheAmazingRaspberry (talk) 17:12, 8 July 2026 (UTC)
