|style="vertical-align: middle; padding: 3px;" | Thanks for tagging and cleaning up a bunch of TNO articles! :Why, thank you! I was surprised to see so many TNO articles lack the stub template, so it is nice being appreciated for trying to address this issue! Thirtyfourninety (talk) 00:04, 23 June 2025 (UTC)
"Am I going too far?" ↗
{{re|Thirtyfourninety}} The answer is "probably yes". Many of the articles you've tagged as stubs (like (308933) 2006 SQ372 ↗) aren't actually stubs. And many of the red-links you've removed had a good reason to be there. Some of those edits have been reverted, by me and by other users. As you said, this is a lot of work ↗, and you may be wasting your time if you continue without discussing this first. Renerpho (talk) 10:28, 24 June 2025 (UTC)
:To expand on what I just said: If you plan to make a change that affects a multitude of articles, even a small one (as in this case), it's a good idea to ask first if there's a reason why things are the way they are. Renerpho (talk) 11:56, 24 June 2025 (UTC)
::Yeah, maybe I should slow down a bit. I've been making a lot of quick edits without thinking. Thirtyfourninety (talk) 13:12, 24 June 2025 (UTC)

25px|alt=Information icon ↗ Hello. This is a message to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions ↗, such as the edit(s) you made to :Perfect Strangers (Deep Purple song) ↗, did not appear to be constructive and have been reverted ↗. Please take some time to familiarise yourself with our policies and guidelines ↗. You can find information about these at our welcome page ↗ which also provides further information about contributing constructively to this encyclopedia ↗. If you only meant to make test edits, please use your sandbox for that. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you may leave a message on my talk page ↗. Thank you.<!-- Template:uw-disruptive1 --> - <span style="font-family:Trebuchet MS"><span style="color:#800000">'''FlightTime Phone'''</span> <small>(<span style="color:#1C0978">'''open channel'''</span>)</small></span> 00:37, 27 June 2025 (UTC)
:{{re|FlightTime Phone}} I believe they are trying to follow WP:TAGSTUB ↗. Note that that page says that about half of all Wikipedia articles are (untagged) stubs. I don't think {{u|Thirtyfourninety}} need guidance on how to use their sandbox, but on what is and what isn't a stub. The earlier comments on this user talk page suggest as much.
:By the way, I agree that Perfect Strangers (Deep Purple song) ↗ and Indians (song) ↗ might be WP:STUB ↗s, while Fireball (Deep Purple song) ↗ and Electric Eye (song) ↗ are probably not. Renerpho (talk) 01:13, 27 June 2025 (UTC)
Thanks for updating the TNO names
Thanks for updating the TNO names! Some of us have proposed asteroid names, but I think for most of us the interest in newly named TNOs is just curiosity. Renerpho (talk) 23:29, 1 October 2025 (UTC)
Chiminigagua and the Oxford comma ↗
I'm not sure what the reason is behind your latest edit on 532037 Chiminigagua removing the Oxford serial comma ↗. I personally think it's fine (if not better), even though the Manual of Style ↗ doesn't give a preference for either. If other parts of the article use the Oxford comma, then I'd say it's better to keep it for consistency. <span style="font-size:103%; color: #528a2d">'''Nrco0e'''</span> <span style="font-size:85%">(talk • contribs ↗)</span> 02:39, 30 September 2025 (UTC)

new numberings
Wait, if the MPEC hasn't come out, what's the source?
(This is very cool, BTW!) Double sharp (talk) 06:44, 3 June 2026 (UTC)
:{{re|Double sharp}} I'd assume it's https://minorplanetcenter.net/iau/lists/NumberedMPs.html ? Renerpho (talk) 08:20, 3 June 2026 (UTC)
::{{ping|Renerpho}} Sorry, I wasn't clear. I meant the new numberings of satellites i.e. Jupiter LXXIII ↗ and Saturn LXVII ↗. :) Double sharp (talk) 08:24, 3 June 2026 (UTC)
:::{{re|Double sharp}} Oh, lol! (There is an issue with the sources for recent numbers of minor planets as well, hence why I assumed that's what you meant.) I suppose https://data.minorplanetcenter.net/explorer/?tab=Designated&search=Jupiter+73 ↗ and https://data.minorplanetcenter.net/explorer/?tab=Designated&search=Saturn+67 ↗ would work as references for Jupiter 73 and Saturn 67, respectively? Renerpho (talk) 10:30, 3 June 2026 (UTC)
::::{{ping|Renerpho}} That works, thank you! (Although what's this about the issues with minor-planet numbering? o_O) Double sharp (talk) 11:43, 3 June 2026 (UTC)
:::::{{re|Double sharp}} I recently asked them why the two latest Minor Planet Circulars (the one from March, and the one from May) haven't been published yet. Federica Spoto told me this: {{tq|The Circulars have not been published yet and this is a consequence of us trying to do more comet publications while in preparation mode. We are thinking about how to fix it, but the data are correct.}} -- I'm not sure what to make of that, and what to expect, but I guess we've got to wait and see what's happening.
:::::This affects asteroid numbering, but also the numbering of periodic comets. For example, The MPC's CometEls.txt ↗ file has elements for comets "515P/PANSTARRS" and "516P/PANSTARRS", both with reference to M.P.C. 194204 (dated early March, but remaining unpublished). None of those comets or their names are recognized by the IAU's Working Group Small Bodies Nomenclature,https://www.wgsbn-iau.org/files/Bulletins/V006/WGSBNBull_V006_008.pdf#%5B%7B%22num%22%3A380%2C%22gen%22%3A0%7D%2C%7B%22name%22%3A%22XYZ%22%7D%2C61.2%2C301.1%2C0%5D ↗ because there has not been a proper publication yet. For this reason, the WGSBN's list of periodic comets ends with 514P/Lemmon-PANSTARRS, as does JPL's. Renerpho (talk) 12:11, 3 June 2026 (UTC)
::::::{{ping|Renerpho}} Whoa, that's definitely something. :( I suppose we shall have to wait and see indeed... Double sharp (talk) 14:31, 3 June 2026 (UTC)
:::::::{{re|Double sharp}} In case you didn't notice, the MPC published a new Minor Planet Circular (https://www.minorplanetcenter.net/iau/ECS/MPCArchive/2026/MPC_20260414.pdf ↗, formally dated 14 April 2026 -- the first one since January) a few hours after my previous comment. It includes an official record of the two newly numbered satellites on page 2309. Renerpho (talk) 23:53, 3 June 2026 (UTC)
