The standard practice is to use the subterm template for Israeli politicians unless they're PMs, mostly because it allows for more necessary information to be condensed into one place. I think that makes sense, given how chaotic israeli politics are. I know hebrew wikipedia does things differently, that's just not very relevant. Benjamin Netanyahu's education at MIT



Hi, I was reading the Wikipedia entry on Benjamin Netanyahu and I noticed an error regarding his education at MIT. I can't correct it because I do not have editing rights (the page is locked for editing) and am not interested in creating an account. So, I looked up the editors' handles on the history page. There are a lot of editors, but you have among the most edits.

Here's the issue - and it's a minor one, but one that deserves correction: Netanyahu took a double load in order to complete his '''undergraduate studies''' in two and a half years, which would normally take four years. The text suggests that he completed his '''master's degree''' in only two and a half years with the same caveat that it normally takes four years to complete a master's.

However, a master's degree usually takes only two years, so if it took him 2.5 years to do his master's, it would have taken him longer than normal. A review of the source material shows that he completed his undergraduate degree in 2.5 years, not his master's. Here is the current version:

The source cited in the article mentions that Netanyahu took two and a half years to get a Bachelor of Science ↗ (i think) in Architecture, which according to the BoS's page takes about 3-5 years. I don't know how i could potentially rephrase this at the moment, but i could probably look into it at some point today or tomorrow. Hi Totalstgamer, I recently created a restructure and update of Jay Ruderman ↗'s article. He is a philanthropist who served in the IDF ↗, was Leadership Director of AIPAC ↗, and works to strengthen relations between Israeli and American Jewry. ::Hey Liat, i've gone over the changes and accepted some of them. In some instances, i chose to preserve stuff you proposed removing because i was torn on its notability. I also chose not to include the mention of the podcast for similar reasons. In addition, i made "philanthropy" a subsection of "Career" and maintained a modified version of the "views and opinions" section. Writing that the term ends in 2027 (which afaik is disputed between 2027 and 2026) would indicate Illouz is guranteed or extremely likely to serve the full term, which he isn't
:When it comes to factions, there is a distinction between political parties and Knesset factions, as sometimes politicians will form their own caucus without forming a distinct party (see Naftali Bennett's brief self-caucus in 2022). Hey! I did notice that message you left, and I wanted to say that I'm really glad that you're still active. I was worried that WikiProject Israel ↗ might not have too many active contributors anymore. While my focus is mostly on Israeli "pop culture" (music, cinema, and the like), I wouldn't mind collaborating on any Israeli politics related articles. I think that improving ''any'' article that relates to Israel can help out. I do have a few biographical articles that I think could use the improvement to GA status on my user page, but to list a few off the top of my head:

# Moshe Dayan ↗, also falls into military figures, but I'd say there's certainly enough sources about him that could help improve it to a GA. At the moment, the article has a lot of cleanup tags and an entire section that's uncited.
# David Ben-Gurion ↗, to be honest, in an ideal world, this would be an '''FA''', and considering that Yasser Arafat ↗ is an FA, while this may be an ambitious goal, I don't think it's an unrealistic one.
# Menachem Begin ↗, same as Ben-Gurion.

Here's a few electoral articles that could use the improvement to this level:

# 1977 Israeli legislative election ↗, the so called "upheaval!", one of the most important elections in the history of Israel, it would benefit greatly from improvements, same applies to articles related to it.
# 1984 Israeli legislative election ↗, ditto, aside from being important, the strange situation that Israel got into because of this election gives it a unique importance that I'm sure you're aware of.
# 1992 Israeli legislative election ↗
# 1996 Israeli general election ↗, just like the 1984 election, this one is one of the strangest elections in Israeli history and one of only a few to be a general election. See also: 1999 Israeli general election ↗ and 2001 Israeli prime ministerial election ↗.

And finally, some articles about political parties in Israel that could also use some improvement:

# Mapai ↗, Alignment (Israel) ↗, and Israeli Labor Party ↗, I rolled these into one because they're all related.

I was actually thinking of improving 2001 Israeli prime ministerial election ↗ because i'm aware of several gaps in its contents (such as Netanyahu and Peres' attempted candidacies). Ben-Gurion and Begin honestly sound incredibly daunting given the large body of sources, but I imagine a team of multiple editors could do something good with it. In general i think these are all great ideas with ample available sourcing. My current projects are Ori Orr ↗ (see my userpage sandbox) and maybe Religious Councils, and i'd be happy to start working on one of these articles after that. ::I don't disagree that improving Begin and Ben-Gurion are daunting tasks, I'm not expecting just you and me to do that, but we'll both have to see if anyone else in WP:ISRAEL ↗ would be willing to help. As for your comment about Dayan: {{tpq|I don't really touch on military stuff}}, neither do I, the only exceptions to this are Lehakat Pikud Darom ↗, Lehakat Pikud Merkaz ↗ and Lehakat Pikud Tzafon ↗, but as I'm sure you know, Israel's military ensembles barely even count as "military stuff" when compared to say, Rafael Eitan ↗ or the military careers of Ariel Sharon ↗ and Yitzhak Rabin ↗. I still think that improving the political aspect of Dayan's article is needed. One part has the {{failed verification}} cleanup tag that I think could easily be fixed and again, the entire section about his time as the foreign minister is not only relatively short but completely uncited. As for your own projects, I find them interesting and I'll see what I can find to help. For pretty much anything related to 20th century Israeli history, the best place to start searching is at the NLI ↗. All of the articles that I've made make good use of stuff from there.
