Template overuse

Please consider improving articles yourself instead of adding multiple huge templates to the top of every article for trivial issues like "lead too long". 24.224.197.195 ↗ (talk) 16:01, 27 January 2015 (UTC)

Specifically with the Animelo Summer Live ↗ page, I'd like more constructive suggestions than just having "multiple issues" flagged. I've attended in 2011, 2012, 2013 and 2015 so I have some idea of what it's like and the people involved. The Japanese media doesn't have the same culture of reviewing events such as these, so, suggestions on reliable secondary sources would be welcome, as would suggestions on how to better arrange information on that page.

::The reason I added that template there was because most Wikipedia articles don't need 21 external links (not counting the ones in the boxes on the right), and I wasn't sure which links would be most important to keep - if I knew which links would be best to remove, I would have done it myself... Which is why I wrote what I did above and in my reverting edit summary. Vague suspicions are not that helpful when they're enshrined in an overly prominent (but annoyingly vague) template that will endure for years and probably long after you're no longer around to dialogue with... Could I have some specific pointers on improving the Animelo Summer Live ↗ page? If there are no specific suggestions on improving the issues so that I and others could continue to address the issues and improve the references and layout of the articles, I feel that the flagging of multiple issues should be removed as it hasn't helped improve things.

Suggestions besides finding more sources... You might want to move the info about title/date/location/list of performers for each year into infoboxes (if an appropriate infobox template exists, or otherwise convert it into prose. You should also convert the track listings to use Template:Track listing ↗ and use the "collapsed" parameter to have each track list be collapsed by default (which would also make it easier to read each item in each tracklist). In addition, you should add information about the notability/significance of the event (citing reliable secondary sources as appropriate – I see a few links at the bottom that aren't cited in the article, so those might be a good start). Also, some minor notes... Section/subsection headings should follow sentence case (as per WP:NCCAPS ↗) other than proper nouns, so headings like "Special Guest"/"Secret Guest" should be "Special guest"/"Secret guest" – though honestly, a list of two items doesn't really need its own subsection (that can just be mentioned in prose within the main section itself). And finally, as per WP:EL ↗, external links (i.e. links to pages outside Wikipedia) do not belong in the body of the text; they may be used as references (in footnotes) as necessary, but should not appear in the body text itself. I converted a few into citations, but there are probably others, as I didn't check the whole page. Anyway, hopefully you found my suggestions helpful! --V2Blast (talk) 13:42, 17 April 2016 (UTC)

The fact that the episodes are longer doesn't change the fact that the episode descriptions should be summaries, not detailed listings of everything that occurs in the episode. Take a look at My Hero Academia (season 1)#Episode list ↗ for comparison; each episode summary there is no longer than 2-3 sentences.
