25px|alt=Information icon ↗ Welcome to Wikipedia ↗. We appreciate your contributions ↗, but in one of your recent edits to :Lawnchair Larry flight ↗, it appears that you have added original research ↗, which is against Wikipedia's policies. Original research refers to material—such as facts, allegations, ideas, and personal experiences—for which no reliable, published sources exist; it also encompasses combining published sources in a way to imply something that none of them explicitly say ↗. Please be prepared to cite a reliable source ↗ for all of your contributions. You can have a look at the tutorial on citing sources ↗. Thank you.<!-- Template:uw-nor1 --> – wallyfromdilbert (talk) 18:02, 23 May 2021 (UTC)

:Oh I see .... very silly. As projects lose their momentum (e.g. DNB and Johnson's first dictionary) they get taken over by the bureaucrats who are preserving the project by preventing any change (inc. improvements) and they get to believe its their creation... forgetting those who toiled for 8 years. Its still worth improving IMO. Victuallers (talk) 09:42, 8 June 2021 (UTC) ... I repaired the Lawnchair Larry article and your addition looks good Victuallers (talk) 16:10, 10 June 2021 (UTC)

Invitation to participate in a research

Hello,

The Wikimedia Foundation is conducting a survey of Wikipedians to better understand what draws administrators to contribute to Wikipedia, and what affects administrator retention. We will use this research to improve experiences for Wikipedians, and address common problems and needs. We have identified you as a good candidate for this research, and would greatly appreciate your participation in this '''anonymous survey ↗'''.

You do not have to be an Administrator to participate.

The survey should take around 10-15 minutes to complete. You may read more about the study on its Meta page ↗ and view its privacy statement ↗ .

Please find our contact on the project Meta page if you have any questions or concerns.

Kind Regards,

WMF Research Team ↗

Hello,

I recently invited you to take a survey about administration on Wikipedia. If you haven’t yet had a chance, there is still time to participate– we’d truly appreciate your feedback. The survey is anonymous and should take about 10-15 minutes to complete. You may read more about the study on its Meta page ↗ and view its privacy statement ↗.

Take the survey '''here ↗'''.

You are invited to participate in the '''Destubathon of the Americas ↗''', a contest/editathon which will run from May 1 to May 31. The goal is to destub as many of our 475,000+ stubs for the Americas (from Alaska down to Chile) as possible. A good chance to have fun in expanding many of our old stale stubs and win up to £2000 ($2680) in Amazon vouchers for expanding stub articles. Sign up in the Contestants/participants section on the contest page if interested. Even if not interested in prizes you are still warmly welcome to participate in it as an editathon! In-flight entertainment ↗

I probably should have asked you about this a few months ago. In this edit ↗ in 2017, you added a sentence to In-flight entertainment ↗ saying, "Amerlon Productions, a subsidiary of Inflight, produced at least one film, ''Deadlier Than the Male ↗'', specifically for use on airplanes." However, as I mentioned at Talk:In-flight entertainment#Deadlier Than the Male ↗, there was no source cited; I couldn't verify that Amerlon Productions was a production company for the film; and, given that ''Deadlier Than the Male'' begins with a woman disguised as a flight attendant blowing up an airplane in flight, it doesn't seem like a movie that airlines would be likely to book. Do you have any source to support this information? -- Metropolitan90 (talk) 16:02, 19 April 2026 (UTC)

:I'm sorry, I don't know where I got that! It isn't in the Smithsonian piece I cited. It does seem somewhat perverse, doesn't it?! WRT your other comment about Amerlon, that ''is'' mentioned in a NYT article cited for the WP article about the film. I will add the link here and revise the text. Thanks!
