MOS:JOBTITLES

I saw that you removed the capitalization of "president" in this edit ↗, citing MOS:JOBTITLES ↗. It was actually correct before. Per the first point of JOBTITLES, {{tq|When followed by a person's name to form a title, i.e., when they can be considered to have become part of the name: "President Nixon", not "president Nixon"; "Pope John XXIII", not "pope John XXIII".}} - ZLEA TǀC ↗ 23:22, 9 July 2026 (UTC)

:You're wrong. Read further.
:"'''Modified or reworded, denoting a''' ''description"''
:* ''Mao met with US president Richard Nixon in 1972.''
:is correct and in green.
:"US" modifies it from a title to a descriptor.
:Similar to how any president's article is lowercase in the sentence "as the president of the United States". but uppercase for "as President of the United States". Wamalotpark (talk) 23:30, 9 July 2026 (UTC)
::I stand corrected. The wording could be a bit clearer. - ZLEA <sup>TǀC ↗</sup> 00:13, 10 July 2026 (UTC)
:::Agreed, it does tend to be much different than most manuals of style you see in news articles that tend to capitalize the title almost ubiquitously. Wamalotpark (talk) 01:00, 10 July 2026 (UTC)
