Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Author ref formatting

Hello, I undid this edit ↗ and wanted to share rationale.

It's a little tricky; I arrived at this formatting intentionally after a long time of thinking. Part of the problem is we don't know how authors romanize their own names, and rather than searching for that info or assuming a romanization that they don't prefer, I think leaving their Hangul names as is is safer and quicker. Furthermore, I think the parameters should correspond to the literal names. In other words, 김현정's given name is not "Hyeon-jeong (김현정)", it's just "현정" (or maybe "Hyeon-jeong", we don't know unless we research that person). 104.232.119.107 ↗ (talk) 00:00, 14 June 2024 (UTC)

:Ok. I thought it would generally be helpful to provide a RR ↗ romanization of the names of each author per WP:NCKO ↗. Does MOS:KO ↗ have any rules for Korean names in reference? 00101984hjw (talk) 01:23, 14 June 2024 (UTC)
::Complicated; I agree that it's potentially helpful to have Latin text names, as not everyone can type Korean and sometimes people need to reference author surnames, but then we have the <code>|first=Hyeon-jeong (김현정)</code> issue.
::There may be an argument to romanize to RR per WP:NCKO, but I'd still prefer to exclude the Korean text if we do that. But again, we'd run into the "what if authors have preferred spellings" problem again. It's so much work to look up every author to see if/how they romanize their names in some way.
::Unfortunately MOS:KO doesn't provide guidance on it; honestly it doesn't provide guidance on much.
::But this is just my opinion; I think there's positives and negatives to each option.
::Key thing is I think we should propose changes to WP:NCKO and MOS:KO, both on this issue and others. Both style guides are too loose and confusing. 104.232.119.107 ↗ (talk) 02:35, 14 June 2024 (UTC)
:::Agreed. MOS:KO ↗ absolutely needs an update. Current guidelines are ambiguous and has little coverage over many potential issues. The current state of the Goguryeo ↗ article would be a good example. 00101984hjw (talk) 03:04, 14 June 2024 (UTC)

Review

Hello @00101984hjw, I found your profile via the cleanup project. I wrote a page by being as neutral and factual as possible (including listing criticisms and legal proceedings). Could you give me some feedback about : Doctrine (startup) ↗ ? Thanks ! Condottiero dei tempi moderni (talk) 17:46, 14 December 2024 (UTC)

:Before you make any further edits, please read the guidelines on WP:COI ↗ and follow the instructions on WP:COIPAYDISCLOSE ↗. Wikipedia has strict editing guidelines on paid editing.
:The article itself looks fine: sources seem to be reliable (Les Echos (France) ↗) and plentiful enough to pass WP:ORG ↗. The fact that most of its sources are in French shouldn't matter per WP:RSUEC ↗. Just make sure you're following paid editing guidelines. -- 00101984hjw (talk) 22:48, 14 December 2024 (UTC)
::Hello @00101984hjw, thank you for this precious feedback. Indeed after reading, I understand that if I have declared my COI on my profile page, on the talk page, if I have remained neutral and concise, I didn't know that it was necessary to go through a specific process: Articles for creation.
::Can I submit the article even if it's already published? By adding: "{subst:submit}"? or "{edit COI}" ?
::I'm new to the EN Wikipedia, the rules vary from one language edition to another. I sincerely thank you for your help,
::Have a nice day, Condottiero dei tempi moderni (talk) 11:34, 15 December 2024 (UTC)
:::The AfC process is only required for editors who haven’t been verified yet. Since your article is already published there’s no need to go through an AfC. If you’d still like to, you can move the page to draftspace and then submit it using {subst:submit}. — 00101984hjw (talk) 16:12, 15 December 2024 (UTC)
::::Alright. Thanks for this answer, I think I'll leave the page as is. So, how can I get the banner removed? I think I'm respecting the rules of the "COI" and neutrality. If there is a need to go through a specific procedure or make changes, that's no problem. Thanks again. Condottiero dei tempi moderni (talk) 16:31, 15 December 2024 (UTC)
:::::As agreed with @Axad12, I have moved the page back to draft so that it can go through the planned process of the AFC. Condottiero dei tempi moderni (talk) 14:14, 16 December 2024 (UTC)
::::::I forgot WP:COI ↗ demands all COI articles to go through an AfC process. Sorry about that. It usually takes a while for drafts to be reviewed by an AfC reviewer, but it'll be reviewed eventually. Thanks again for complying with Wikipedia's guidelines. -- 00101984hjw (talk) 04:25, 17 December 2024 (UTC)
:::::::Hello @00101984hjw, thank you very much for your answer. It is normal to comply with the rules. Could you provide a new proofreading since the draft has been modified by various contributors, I fear that it has become promotional by a contributor without it being intentional (since December 16). Thx Condottiero dei tempi moderni (talk) 16:22, 9 January 2025 (UTC)
::::::::It appears that user:Axad12 ↗ has deleted most of the promotional material. -- 00101984hjw (talk) 21:24, 11 January 2025 (UTC)
:::::::::Thank you for your response. I think we have reached a satisfactory result for the neutrality of the page. We are just waiting for a review by a member of the AFC. Condottiero dei tempi moderni (talk) 22:15, 11 January 2025 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of National Forensic Service

Hello 00101984hjw,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged National Forensic Service ↗ for deletion, because it's a redirect from an article title to a namespace ↗ that's not for articles.

If you don't want National Forensic Service to be deleted, you can <span class="plainlinks">'''Forensic Service}}&action=edit&section=new&preload=Template:Hangon_preload&preloadtitle=This+page+should+not+be+speedy+deleted+because...+ contest this deletion ↗'''</span>, but don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page ↗ if you have questions. Thanks!

Timeline issue in List of prime ministers of South Korea

Hello. I fixed the timeline issue in this article per your request in WikiProject:Cleanup. I'm not knowledgeable about South Korean politics. What do the colors in the timeline indicate? I suggest putting a legend. I would do it myself but I don't know what those colors indicate. TheVoicelessWriter (talk) 03:27, 4 June 2026 (UTC)

:The current red-gray-blue scheme seems to only differentiate between conservative (red), independent (gray), and liberal (blue) political factions.
:Optimally there should be a much more diverse color scheme to differentiate between the many, many political parties that have existed throughout SK history, but this might be a bit of a headache. -- 00101984hjw (talk) 04:19, 4 June 2026 (UTC)
