Managing a conflict of interest
25px|alt=Information icon ↗ Hello, Alasteon. We welcome ↗ your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about ↗ on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest ↗ (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the '''conflict of interest guideline ↗''' and FAQ for article subjects ↗ for more information. We ask that you:
- '''avoid editing or creating''' articles about yourself, your family, friends, colleagues, company, organization, clients, or competitors;
- '''propose changes''' on the talk pages ↗ of affected articles (you can use the {{tl|edit COI}} template);
- '''disclose''' your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see {{Section link|Wikipedia:Conflict of interest#How to disclose a COI}});
- '''avoid linking''' to your organization's website in other articles (see {{Section link|Wikipedia:Spam#External link spamming}});
- '''do your best''' to comply with Wikipedia's content policies ↗.
In addition, you are '''required''' by the Wikimedia Foundation ↗'s terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure ↗.
Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you.{{#ifexpr: ({{#time: U | now}} - 1709508683) < 13150000 | | }} Sungodtemple (talk • contribs ↗) 23:31, 3 March 2024 (UTC)
Disambiguation link notification for March 6
Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Jared Warth ↗, a link pointing to the disambiguation page Alternative Press ↗ was added. Such links are usually incorrect ↗, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ{{*}} Join us at the DPL WikiProject ↗.)
It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, --DPL bot (talk) 10:26, 6 March 2026 (UTC)

25px|alt=Information icon ↗ Hello, I'm JalenBarks. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, :Marc Okubo ↗, but you didn't provide a reliable source ↗. On Wikipedia, it's important that article content be verifiable ↗. If you'd like to resubmit your change with a citation ↗, your edit is archived in the page history ↗. If you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Jalen Barks (Woof) 02:58, 11 March 2026 (UTC)
25px|alt=Information icon ↗ Please refrain from adding, removing or changing genres ↗, as you did to :Man on the Moon: The End of Day ↗, without providing a source ↗ or establishing a consensus ↗ on the article's talk page first. Genre changes to suit your own point of view ↗ are considered disruptive ↗. Thank you. Magatta (talk) 22:32, 17 March 2026 (UTC)
25px|alt=Warning icon ↗ Please stop. If you continue to change genres ↗ without discussion or sources, as you did at :Shapeshifter (Dead Rabbitts album) ↗, you may be blocked from editing ↗. Magatta (talk) 20:18, 19 March 2026 (UTC)
30px|alt=Stop icon ↗ You may be '''blocked from editing ↗ without further warning''' the next time you change genres in pages without discussion or sources, as you did at :Something for Nothing (album) ↗. ''Also, please see WP:ALLMUSIC ↗, the summary for Allmusic album/song/artist pages is not a reliable source for genres, and please start a discussion on the article's talk page before adding in potentially controversial genres.'' Magatta (talk) 05:54, 21 March 2026 (UTC)
25px|alt=Information icon ↗ Hello, I'm Blue-Sonnet. I noticed that you made a comment on the page :Wikipedia:Administrators noticeboard/Incidents#Chronic_genre_warring_from_two_linked_accounts ↗ that didn't seem very civil ↗, so it may have been removed. Wikipedia is built on collaboration, so it's one of our core principles to interact with one another in a polite and respectful manner. If you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page ↗. Thank you. Blue Sonnet (talk) 01:35, 22 March 2026 (UTC)
:listen blue sonnet, i can answer you only, you seem cool asf but that person hell naw, she got something against me or something like that, ur a nice person, ill respond to you only but word to my mother i aint answering someone whos gonna be against me and a snitch at me for no reason. Alasteon (talk) 01:41, 22 March 2026 (UTC)
::Thanks for replying! The thing about Wikipedia is that it's public and everyone can see everything. Even if you don't agree with someone you still need to be polite - that way the other person is forced to talk about what you've said and not the way you've said it, if that makes sense? Everyone argues easily on the internet so, on this website, everyone has to assume good faith ↗ from whoever they're talking to.
::Even if you don't like what someone says, you should always think that they're not trying to be a dick on purpose. People screw up sometimes, or ''you'' might even be the one who screwed up - you'll never know the truth know if everyone's shouting at each other & name-calling, we need to stay calm to find out.
::TBH I've not read through the report so I don't know who's right here, but what you wrote isn't ok for a Wikipedia discussion because you attacked the person who made the post instead of the argument they were making. I hope this makes sense? Blue Sonnet (talk) 02:09, 22 March 2026 (UTC)
:::uhum, i didnt rlly attack them but like i dont like when ppl do that Alasteon (talk) 02:13, 22 March 2026 (UTC)
::::It's all good, looks like the ANI thread is dying down. You're welcome to participate, just remember to be clear and polite! Make sure everyone has to focus on the point you're making & can't use anything else against you.
::::BTW I'm making a big guess here, but you might find something on this page ↗ helpful? Blue Sonnet (talk) 15:07, 22 March 2026 (UTC)
:::::gotchu, thx blue sonnet, now im starting to like u more fr, ur the nicest Alasteon (talk) 20:27, 22 March 2026 (UTC)
::::::No probs, glad to help if I can! Blue Sonnet (talk) 21:04, 22 March 2026 (UTC)

:Re: your request to be unblocked on my talk ↗. Have you read the above message? It explains the procedure for requesting unblock. I'd recommend using standard English, which from your user page it seems you're quite capable of doing, and following the advice {{u|Blue-Sonnet}} gave you at their talk about how to write a successful unblock request.
:The reason you were blocked was that you didn't seem to be interested in sincerely responding to other editors' concerns about your editing. Stuff like this ↗ and this ↗ is just silliness. It's fine to have fun here, but it's not fine to waste people's time or dismiss their concerns when they try to discuss them with you. Valereee (talk) 11:38, 29 March 2026 (UTC)

{{unblock reviewed |1=i wasnt trying to abuse anything, even the editing - i wasn't abusing that. i wasn't even abusing anything at all! yes i admit it, i was upset when i was shittalking to some editors who were gonna report me for thinking that i was doing making bullshit up of genres or something like that. i wast trying to make some good changing on the genre edits, even when it's no explanation of no sources, i still.. i dont know how to explain it but it fits for the genre even tho it sounds like what it sounds like to my music taste. |decline = We aren't interested in your opinions on genre.
