I need someone to pronounce اوږد in the Wardak dialect with focus on ʝ ↗] so I can upload it to the dialects ↗ page. Also from the Wardak dialect pronouncing any words with ږ ښ.
If you speak any other dialect upload any words with ښ ږ څ ځ ژ.
If you upload the file on Wikimedia Commons ↗ and post it to my talk page specifying ur dialect - I will add it to the dialects page.

Voiceless retroflex lateral flap ↗ moved to draftspace

An article you recently created, Voiceless retroflex lateral flap ↗, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable ↗, independent sources ↗. <small>(? ↗)</small> Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability ↗ is of central importance ↗ on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace ↗ (with a prefix of "<code>Draft:</code>" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. What the IPA template is for

You seem to have misunderstood what the {{tl|IPA}} template is all about. All that template does is enclose the input in the <code>IPA</code> CSS class ↗, which allows logged-in users to specify a custom font for phonetic representations—see the template documentation ↗ on how to do it. (The class also suppresses underlines if there are links in the input and adds some semantic value ↗.)

The templates that link phonetic symbols to relevant articles are {{tl|IPA link}}, {{tl|IPAblink}}, etc. For example, <code><nowiki>{{IPA link|b}}</nowiki></code> becomes "{{IPA link|b}}" and <code><nowiki>{{IPAblink|p|b̥}}</nowiki></code> becomes "{{IPAblink|p|b̥}}". (Notice the latter links to ''Voiceless'' bilabial plosive ↗. If you just put <code><nowiki>{{IPAblink|b̥}}</nowiki></code>, it links to Voicelessness ↗: "{{IPAblink|b̥}}".)

Also, I think it's about time you learned how to properly link to other pages on Wikipedia—see Help:Introduction to editing with Wiki Markup/3 ↗. I'd also like you to learn how to properly cite sources if you plan to keep on contributing—see Help:Referencing for beginners ↗. Nardog (talk) 21:41, 13 November 2020 (UTC)

: Thanks i deleted them because they didnt change anything in the table like {{IPA|t͡ɕʼ} } and just plain t͡ɕʼ and you know the page would load a bit faster --AleksiB 1945 (talk) 00:35, 15 November 2020 (UTC)

Renditions of the phonological charts

The reason that I keep undoing your edits to the various language pages is because they are strictly just unnecessary renditions being done to the phonological charts. Unless you have some actual useful knowledge about the information regarding the languages, then add that and make the edit, but if it is just about how the phonological charts "look", then don't do anything. Leave the charts the way they are. They are already flawlessly accurate and are in no need of changing their appearance. Fdom5997 (talk) 20:04, 14 January 2021 (UTC)

:@{{u|AleksiB 1945}} It does not matter if those codes don't change anything. They are not useless, they are their for better organization of the charts, so they were put there for a reason. Those other pages with the charts you showed here, are not "messed up", they were made flawlessly. Just leave the charts alone, and stop messing around with them please. If you have any questions about this, you are welcome to leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. <!-- Template:uw-copyright-new --> — Diannaa (talk) 14:12, 24 March 2022 (UTC)

Tamil inscriptions

Just to give you a heads up, the earliest Tamil Brahmi inscription can not predate the Maurya period (its palaeographically not possible), there must be something wrong with the carbon dating or a mixing of archaeological layers (see the criticisms by Harry Falk particularly on the calibration curves). I also suspect nationalist bias which has led to these early dates. Metta79 (talk) 11:44, 5 August 2023 (UTC)

Deletion discussion about David Barry (jailor) ↗

While your contributions are appreciated, I wanted to let you know that I've started a discussion about whether an article that you created, David Barry (jailor) ↗, should be deleted, as I am not sure that it is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia in its current form. Your comments are welcome at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/David Barry (jailor) ↗.

Deletion discussions ↗ usually run for seven days and are ''not'' votes. Our guide ↗ about effectively contributing to such discussions is worth a read. The most common issue in these discussions is notability ↗, but it's not the only aspect that may be discussed; read the nomination and any other comments carefully before you contribute to the discussion. Last but not least, you are highly encouraged to continue improving the article; just be sure not to remove the tag about the deletion nomination from the top.

If you have any questions, please leave a comment here and prepend it with <code><nowiki>{{Re|</nowiki>LordVoldemort728<nowiki>}}</nowiki></code>. And don't forget to sign your reply with <code><nowiki>~~~~</nowiki></code> . Thanks!

Introduction to contentious topics

{{ivmbox | image = Commons-emblem-notice.svg |imagesize=50px | bg = #E5F8FF | text = You have recently edited a page related to '''the region of South Asia ↗ (India, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Nepal), broadly construed, including but not limited to history, politics, ethnicity, and social groups''', a topic designated as '''''contentious ↗'''''. This is a brief introduction to contentious topics and <em>does <strong>not</strong> imply that there are any issues with your editing</em>.

A special set of rules applies to certain topic areas, which are referred to as ''contentious topics''. These are specially designated topics that tend to attract more persistent disruptive editing than the rest of the project and have been designated as contentious topics by the Arbitration Committee ↗. When editing a contentious topic, Wikipedia's norms and policies are more strictly enforced, and Wikipedia administrators ↗ have an expanded level of powers and discretion in order to reduce disruption to the project.

Within contentious topics, editors should edit <strong>carefully and constructively</strong>, refrain from disrupting the encyclopedia, and:

<p>Additionally, you must be logged in, have 500 edits, and have an account age of 30 days ↗ in order to make edits related to two subtopics: (1) Indian military history, or (2) social groups, explicitly including caste associations and political parties related to India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Nepal.</p><p>Editors are advised to err on the side of caution if unsure whether making a particular edit is consistent with these expectations. If you have any questions about contentious topics ''procedures'', you may ask them at the arbitration clerks' noticeboard ↗ or you may learn more about this contentious topic here ↗. You may also choose to note which contentious topics you know about by using the {{tl|Ctopics/aware}} template.</p>}}<!-- Derived from Template:Contentious topics/alert/first --> Ekdalian (talk) 16:04, 8 September 2025 (UTC)

About Malayalam ↗

25px|alt=Information icon ↗ Hi, and thank you for your contributions ↗ to Wikipedia. It appears that you tried to change the title of :Malayalam ↗ by cutting its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into another page with a different name. This is known as a "cut-and-paste move ↗", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history ↗, which is legally required for attribution ↗. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be ''moved'' to a new title together with their edit history.

In most cases for registered users, once your account is four days old and has ten edits ↗, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab ↗ at the top of the page (the tab may be hidden in a dropdown menu ↗ for you). This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect ↗ from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves ↗ to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Requests for history merge ↗. Thank you. <!-- Template:uw-c&pmove --><!-- Template:Db-csd-notice-custom --> Chess enjoyer (talk) 13:21, 10 December 2025 (UTC)

:You can disregard the above. Since it was only part of a page, it's a split ↗. Chess enjoyer (talk) 13:25, 10 December 2025 (UTC)
::Especially since you're just the redirect creator! Someone did an undiscussed split of the page, and I incorrectly tagged it for G6 with twinkle, which notified you. Sorry to bother you with this. Chess enjoyer (talk) 13:47, 10 December 2025 (UTC)

Speedy deletion ↗ nomination of :Voiceless retroflex non-sibilant affricate ↗

48px|left|alt=|link= ↗
{{Quote box|quote=<p>If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article ↗.</p><p>You may want to consider using the Article Wizard ↗ to help you create articles.</p>|width=20%|align=right}}
A tag has been placed on :Voiceless retroflex non-sibilant affricate ↗ requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G4 of the criteria for speedy deletion ↗, because the page appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion discussion ↗, such as at Articles for deletion ↗. When a page has substantially identical content to that of a page deleted after a discussion, and any changes in the content do not address the reasons for which the material was previously deleted, it may be deleted at any time.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may '''contest the nomination''' by visiting the page ↗ and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines ↗. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the {{Querylink|Special:Log|qs=type=delete&page=Voiceless+retroflex+non-sibilant+affricate|deleting administrator}}, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here ↗. <!-- Template:Db-repost-notice --><!-- Template:Db-csd-notice-custom --> - <span style="color: blue;">Bᴏᴅʜı</span><span style="color: red;">Hᴀᴙᴩ</span> 05:38, 29 January 2026 (UTC)
