I make some small edit, so how much time it will take to approve and how can I check it --Vikrant2002 (talk) 06:11, 4 May 2026 (UTC)

:@Vikrant2002 On most pages, edits should appear immediately. Some protected pages may allow people to edit after it is checked by a pending changes reviewer, the exact speed on these pages vary. This type of protection is rare, however. AaronNealLucas (talk) 16:28, 4 May 2026 (UTC)

::Martos Gallery is a contemporary art gallery based in New York City, founded by art dealer José Martos.
:: == History ==
::Martos Gallery was established by José Martos, a French-born dealer who began organizing exhibitions after earlier operating a gallery in St. Barts.
::The gallery later operated in New York, including a space in Chelsea.
::The gallery has also been associated with Shoot the Lobster, a project space initiated by Martos that has hosted exhibitions and events in multiple locations.
:: == Programming ==
::The gallery’s program has included exhibitions of contemporary artists working across media. It has been noted for operating with a flexible model, often collaborating with artists on a project-by-project basis.
::Artists associated with exhibitions at the gallery have included Michel Auder and Aura Rosenberg.
:: == Reception ==
::Exhibitions at Martos Gallery have been reviewed in publications including ''The New York Times'', ''Artforum'', and ''Frieze''. BirdieTheDogSaysHi11215 (talk) 17:11, 4 May 2026 (UTC)
:::@BirdieTheDogSaysHi11215 It seems pretty good, but you might expand the reception section to include the assessments if those publications. I'm unable to view your sources (I'm replying on mobile) but just make sure you've included independent, significant coverage (if your sources in reception are from those papers, you should be good). Question from Sapper1984 (03:42, 6 May 2026)

Hello! I wanted to ask about the Audi R18 page, specifically the racing history section. It's been tagged for excessive length, and I wanted to ask about the conventions for cutting down so much information? Is it appropriate to remove plenty of legitimate and sourced information, for the sake of legibility? The section apparently now exceeds 11,000 words, which is why it's being challenged. --Sapper1984 (talk) 03:42, 6 May 2026 (UTC)

:@Sapper1984 Try checking for repeating information, overworded bits, or information that doesn't impart real knowledge. Sometimes, you might need to split it to its own article, so you can assess that as well. AaronNealLucas (talk) 08:14, 9 May 2026 (UTC)

Question from Vikrant2002 (13:13, 12 May 2026)

Hey, can I create a wikipedia page from my account till now I have 11 edits only, If yes what steps should I follow in simple steps --Vikrant2002 (talk) 13:13, 12 May 2026 (UTC)

:@Vikrant2002 Check out the WP:Article Wizard ↗ to start a draft article. Starting with a draft and submitting it through Articles for Creation is not a requirement for you any longer, but it is a good way to start so you can receive feedback.
:Consider if the subject of your article is notable. This means there are independent, reliable sources covering the topic. It should be more than a passing mention. This is important, otherwise a Wikipedia article will be rejected for lack of notability.
:Write the article in your own words; do NOT copy and paste or paraphrase too closely. Make sure all of your statements in the article are sourced. You can insert citations as you go. You should have a few good sources in the article.
:You can submit it and another more experienced Wikipedian can help. AaronNealLucas (talk) 11:03, 15 May 2026 (UTC)

'''Backlog update'''

At the time of this message, there are 15,282 articles and 32,951 redirects awaiting review.

After the January–February drive the article backlog was reduced to 15,179 articles and the redirect backlog to 19,053 respectively. Great job! However, both queues are growing rapidly and any additional reviews are highly appreciated.

'''2024 and 2025 NPP Awards'''

74px|left ↗{{no ping|JTtheOG}} was selected as the NPP reviewer of the year for both 2024 and 2025, for reviewing the most articles amongst all reviewers.
{{no ping|Hey man im josh}} and {{no ping|MPGuy2824}} won the Redirect Ninja Master Award for 2024 and 2025 respectively, for reviewing the most redirects.

Overall in 2024, one Platinum, two Gold, eight Silver, 12 Bronze and 45 Iron Barnstars were awarded. Additionally, 66 reviewers got the NPP barnstar for doing more than 100 reviews through the year. In 2025, one Platinum, ten Silver, 13 Bronze and 38 Iron Barnstars were awarded. Additionally, 38 reviewers got the NPP barnstar for doing more than 100 reviews through the year.

{{no ping|BoyTheKingCanDance}}, {{no ping|Rosiestep}}, {{no ping|SunDawn}}, and {{no ping|Vanderwaalforces}} were inducted into the NPP Hall of Fame ↗ for having two separate years of 2,000+ article reviews.

'''January–February backlog drive'''

The experimental two-month long backlog drive concluded with 183 reviewers patrolling over 27,761 articles and 35,309 redirects, earning over 36,836 points. Congratulations to {{no ping|JTtheOG}}, who achieved first place with 6,484.6 points in this drive.

'''May backlog drive'''

An article-only backlog drive is currently underway. We are hoping to make a big dent in the backlog. You can read more about it or join at Wikipedia:New pages patrol/Backlog drives/May 2026 ↗.

'''PageTriage'''

An attempt was made to get the New Pages Feed ↗ to sort by date marked as reviewed instead of date created. However we had to revert it due to bugs. We may try again in the future. You can subscribe to the Phabricator ticket ↗ if you're interested in following along.

Question from TullyFW (18:48, 6 June 2026)

Hi, I am wondering about the standard for writing non-english names (in this case vietnamese). If the name has latin letters, is it okay to omit diacritics when repeatedly using the name in english? For example, I noticed the page for Cinema of Vietnam uses "Tran Anh Hung" and "Trần Anh Hùng" interchangeably throughout instead of sticking to one. --TullyFW (talk) 18:48, 6 June 2026 (UTC)

:Really, the rule should be to stay consistent within an article. My personal recommendation would be to use the version with diacritics throughout the article. AaronNealLucas (talk) 23:35, 6 June 2026 (UTC)

:@Kai1525 '''To insert an image:''' Begin editing the page, and click the "insert" tab on the top toolbar. You'll find an option to insert "images and media." Images used on Wikipedia (and all related projects) are hosted at Wikimedia Commons ↗.

Greetings Aplucas0703,

My apologies for the delayed response. I was beaucoup excited to join the Wikipedia community and then got very busy with work and personal things but I now have the time and mind-space to be an active part of the community. Looking forward to learning, researching, discussing, and sharing knowledge.

Thank you for reaching out and introducing yourself. This side of Wikipedia is a bit overwhelming initially but I will read and watch some tutorials so I hopefully don't have to bother you with too many questions :)

Have a wonderful weekend. Caribbean87 (talk) 01:52, 15 June 2026 (UTC)

Hello M. Lucas, I wish to amend factual inaccuracies in a historical entry about an event which occurred in the Second World War; what is the best way to go about it ? --Johnyerbrubinstein (talk) 17:14, 25 June 2026 (UTC)

:@Johnyerbrubinstein Usually, you would just edit the page and fix the inaccurate content, and replace the sources if necessary. Could you clarify the page and the innaccuracy you spotted, and I can give more detailed advice? AaronNealLucas (talk) 17:23, 25 June 2026 (UTC)
::Thanks M. Lucas,
::that is helpful; I shall re-read the passages concerned which relate to events in which I was involved in the last century, and which in some AI sources outcomes have been misrepresented, by an apparent clean-up of the internet. It would be too early at present to assess what extent any corrective narrative should be supplied. It involves the subsequent investigations into amoingst other matters, the death of Pope John Paul I, the collapse of the Banco Ambrosiano, and the destination of the "flusso di denari". Volleyball

The person who keeps on reverting my edits and nominates my pages for deletion has refused to talk to me without throwing wiki links at me and has constantly changed his reasons for reverting my edits. He has also said my edits on these volleyball pages are commendable, but then wants to delete the pages. That doesn't sense to me. When I have done these edits on other pages, no one bats an eyelid. But the volleyball editors are adamant that my edits are disruptive for some reason. I tried to get a consensus but that got nowhere.

The situation with volleyball editors has severed my mental health and I am considering taking this to the administrators noticeboard as I have had two other editors say that they have had problems with volleyball editors. ILoveSport2006 (talk) 10:22, 29 June 2026 (UTC)

:@ILoveSport2006 I'm sorry to hear this! The Wikipedia community takes things like this seriously; we want new editors to feel welcomed. Could you please link me a page (or several) where you've had this issue? I'll take a look and suggest the best move from here. AaronNealLucas (talk) 15:35, 29 June 2026 (UTC)

:::@ILoveSport2006 i am uncertain of the full context and the conventions associated with volleyball and sports related articles. If you think someone has been acting inappropriately, you can definitely take it to WP:ANI ↗. AaronNealLucas (talk) 01:02, 30 June 2026 (UTC)
::::It's simple. I edit, he reverts, I want an explanation, he gives an excuse, gives a wiki link and doesn't speak to me properly. Then repeat. This situation and the fact that people (whom by the way don't edit on the volleyball pages) are supporting his ideas hurt me a lot as all of them are mine and he has treated me like utter crap. I need help. ILoveSport2006 (talk) 18:26, 30 June 2026 (UTC)

Question from Zetra83838 (17:25, 30 June 2026)

Hello! Thanks for mentoring me.
If I add information to an article that I got from the book but the book is already referenced, I only have to add the page number, right? --Zetra83838 (talk) 17:25, 30 June 2026 (UTC)

:@Zetra83838 You should make sure that it is clear you are referencing that specific book. See WP:SFN ↗ and H:SFN ↗ for more guidance on how to cite a source, like a book, where you may cite different pages across an article. You can use a shortened footnote which is accompanied by a full citation in another section in the references. AaronNealLucas (talk) 17:33, 30 June 2026 (UTC)

Question from Jsanormaluser (15:55, 2 July 2026)

Hello, how do I start? --Jsanormaluser (talk) 15:55, 2 July 2026 (UTC)

:@@Jsanormaluser If you are looking to edit, you can check out the page Help:Editing ↗ for some basics on editing Wikipedia, and you can visit the page WP:Task center ↗ for some ideas on what to edit. Your user homepage can also give you some other suggestions. If there's something you wanted to get started on, I can offer help with that, too. AaronNealLucas (talk) 17:30, 2 July 2026 (UTC)

:@FoodSafetyCulture Go to Special:Preferences ↗ > Go to user profile (should be the first page) > Scroll to email options > Select "change or remove email address". AaronNealLucas (talk) 16:15, 3 July 2026 (UTC)

Welcoming mentees

Hi, Aplucas0703. I noticed some of the welcome messages to your mentees, and then noticed you are substing them from your welcomementee subpage. You are more than welcome to keep doing so, but did you know that there are already three templates specifically for welcoming mentees? See Wikipedia:Welcoming committee/Welcome templates#Mentors ↗. There is also one "mentor-aware" template, {{t|welcome-retro}}; this template is not specifically for welcoming mentees, but it knows if the person you are welcoming is your mentee or not, and if you are, it adds notification of your being assigned as their mentor to the standard welcome message.

If you are happy with the wording of your template, just carry on doing what you're doing. You might want to look at the other templates anyway, because you could steal ideas from them, like how to say, "Hello, Aplucas0703!" instead of just, "Hello there!". There are other tricks too; lmk if you are interested in importing any of them into your template. Oh, I almost forgot; there is a new noticeboard for mentors to hang out and share their experiences and ideas with other mentors; please drop by the Wikipedia:Mentorship noticeboard ↗ and say hello! Question from ILoveMartinique on Music of Martinique ↗ (12:25, 6 July 2026)

How do I create an endnote? Also, how do I create a citation? --ILoveMartinique (talk) 12:25, 6 July 2026 (UTC)

Question from ILoveMartinique (12:47, 6 July 2026)

I worked about an hour and a half on editing, then switched from source editing to visual to see what it was like, then tried to switch back, and everything I did has disappeared. Is it saved somewhere? Can I get back to it, or do I need to start over? I guess if I'm doing something this extensive I should just do it in Word and then paste the whole thing into the edit. Will that work? --ILoveMartinique (talk) 12:47, 6 July 2026 (UTC)

:@ILoveMartinique You can create citations using the top toolbar in visual mode (easiest way). See H:FOOT ↗ for help with footnotes (it should also cover citations). I recommend saving your work (publishing your edits) as you reach stopping points, as the browser itself can become overloaded or time out. You are free to work outside and paste it in, but that isn't needed. AaronNealLucas (talk) 16:08, 6 July 2026 (UTC)

Who are you? --Dreamydaze (talk) 03:19, 10 July 2026 (UTC)

Question from Stulopez7 (14:05, 10 July 2026)

Hello! I have an article about Nancye Green that I wrote. Do you have any tips on how I can get this published?

Thank you,
Stuart --Stulopez7 (talk) 14:05, 10 July 2026 (UTC)

:@Stulopez7 Make sure that you have three good sources that show notability. These three sources should each be independent of the subject of the article (and of the other sources). They should also be reliable sources, and preferably secondary sources (like news reports). Most importantly, they should have ''significant'' coverage of the person. In general, this mean that each source has more than just a passing or trivial mention of the subject of the Wikipedia article you want to write. So things like a few paragraphs in an article (or an entire article), a book, or some other published source. AaronNealLucas (talk) 18:15, 10 July 2026 (UTC)
