Question from Arkham Knightz on Pedram Salimpour ↗ (17:31, 23 February 2026)
Salimpour is the founding chairman of the board of Directors of the Discovery Science Museum in Los Angeles.[1] is this an information that should be kept in personal life. this information is from the page of Pedram Salimpour --Arkham Knightz (talk) 17:31, 23 February 2026 (UTC)
:I would say so, yes. This is information about his more personal job excursions, not his work as an author or a business executive.
:(P.S. apologies for the super late response, I'd forgotten to mark myself as away from mentorship).

how can I add more information? --Rekhamoni Duari (talk) 08:18, 8 March 2026 (UTC)
:Hi there! Super late response, my apologies.
:You can add more info to the Zyklon article by finding sources that give info on new releases or work by the band that is not in the article. Wikiproject albums has a list of sources you could potentially find information with here ↗.

Question from Theduckgod (09:17, 8 March 2026)
how not to have your edits removed by a vandalism bot ? thank --Theduckgod (talk) 09:17, 8 March 2026 (UTC)
:Hi! This response is insanely late, and I apologize profusely for the trouble. I think the revert had to do with a few things. Firstly, the age of your acccount. Cluebot is a bit harder on new accounts because trolls and vandals don't exactly wait to cause their trouble. Another is sources. If you could find a source that says that model is the most sought after, put it in along with your edit. (see more at WP:CITE ↗).
:Thank you, apologies again!

Question from Pleasenotanothereust (15:16, 3 April 2026)
Hi! I was trying to improve a draft for an article I was writing yesterday by adding tags, but it keeps giving me this error when I hit the "Add selected Wikipage tags" button: "An error occurred (unexpected-result) Please try again."
Any chance you know why it could be doing so? --Pleasenotanothereust (talk) 15:16, 3 April 2026 (UTC)
:Apologies for the late response. You should probably be able to do it now that I've responded, but these unexpected result errors are usually a result of glitches in the server cache. You just have to wait a little while, or clear your cache yourself. You can see more on how to do that at Help:Purge ↗.

Question from DWoood (20:09, 8 April 2026)
What is a good way to see what is subjective? --DWoood (talk) 20:09, 8 April 2026 (UTC)
:Gee... late response. My apologies.
:What is subjective is typically what can have multiple opinions made on it. I think of it as "what is factual" vs "what can be argued upon." For example, whether or not a peanut butter and jelly sandwich tastes good is subjective, but it is factual that it is comprised of both peanut butter and jelly, so that is not subjective.
:Things that are subjective can also be deduced from factual information, so we have to be careful to be WP:DUE ↗ so we don't necessarily push any readers towards a specific view from the facts (per WP:NPOV ↗)
:For a more practical example, think of a painting. I might find the painting ugly, and you might find it pretty. That is subjective. What is not subjective is that an artist created it and had an intention with that creation.
:I hope this makes sense. Being subjective is sort of complex and hard to define. One could even say it's subjective.
:Ok, bad joke. Sorry.
:Much love, rock on!

Question from FairyLinda (11:11, 10 April 2026)
Hello sir, I’d like to take an active role on Wikipedia. Blogging is a hobby I’d like to turn into a career. My goal is to create Wikipedia pages for video games and companies that don’t yet have them. Could you mentor me on where and how to get started? --FairyLinda (talk) 11:11, 10 April 2026 (UTC)
:Hi there! I would choose a video game and/or company you know a chunk of information about that doesn't have a page yet. Next, I would create a list of reliable sources ↗ that give info on that said game/company. WikiProject video games has a ref library ↗ to help you find sources for video games, given a quick google search will often bring up YouTube videos, Steam pages, and blogs (which usually aren't considered reliable).
:Much love, rock on, and welcome!

Question from Kalio2048 (21:45, 25 April 2026)
Hi again! I have a question about TV shows --
I have read the MOS about adding images, but it doesn't really specify what to do about visual media with unique logos vs. title cards. For example, I was looking into making an svg of the South Park logo (predictable, I know,) only to find there's already one in Commons commons:File:South park sign.svg ↗, but on en:South Park ↗ it's just the title card from season 15 onwards. Meanwhile, other TV shows have proper vectorized logos, like the page for en:Breaking Bad ↗ and en:The Sopranos ↗ (the latter even uses an asset from an official press kit.)
Now, I know that simple text-based logos can't be copyrighted and are therefore public domain, so that might be a strong argument for using a simple (free as in freedom!) logo rather than a low resolution screenshot as the main image for an article, but again, the fact that there are already vectorized logos for some shows that go unused makes me reconsider changing them all to svgs.
Has there been a discussion about this, or is there a page in the MOS that I missed about this? Thank you. --Kalio2048 (talk) 21:45, 25 April 2026 (UTC)
:Hello Hello! I think what happened with the South Park page was possibly an oversight/used to illustrate the show itself a little better. Due to MOS' favoring public domain files, typically that commons file would absolutely be used for South Park. I'd look to see if there's some sort of consensus to use the title card. I think your best bet is to open a topic on the South Park article's talk page and ask about it.
:Much love, rock on!

Question from Kschultz1 on User talk:Kschultz1 (18:54, 4 May 2026)
Hello. I was wondering if articles from a local newspaper would count as credible sources and citations to help get an article published? --Kschultz1 (talk) 18:54, 4 May 2026 (UTC)
:In part, yes! They are helpful for more specific details, but some sort of wider-range reliable source/newspaper is ideal as well. This is because of WP:NOTNEWS ↗, which basically means that local routine coverage may not qualify notability. For more on that, you can see what is and is not routine coverage ↗. Basically, you can absolutely use local papers for details, but it can't be the ''only'' thing you rely on.

Hi there. I need a bit of help with the templates on the article Mercedes-Benz W108/W109 ↗. I made 3x2 collection, but I am not sure how to get the width to automatically fit the screen, to stretch them to the max. Also, as the pictures are of different h x w ratio, is there a way to crop their thumbnails. (Maybe there is a different template that can be used).
Second one, towards the end of the article there is a timeline, but I was wondering that shows one year per cell. Is there a way to break the blocks by month, rather than rounding it off to a year.
Since I've spend the last two weeks reworking this article, will it qualify for a DYK or is not even worth trying? --Carfan87 (talk) 19:40, 5 May 2026 (UTC)

How to grow an article
I was feeling a little overzealous and so I immediately made a page for Stellar Blade: Blood Rain ↗, a game that was just announced. The page is currently a stub, but I plan to add information as soon as possible to bring it up to standards in a quick period of time. Questions about doing that:
Is it acceptable to add appropriately sourced speculative information that’s widely agreed upon (ex: most reporters agree that the reason the game went first party for publishing was to allow them to put the game on more platforms, the developers never said this but it was implied in something they said). What about credible leaks and teasers?
Also, what images would be permitted for use in a sidebar about the game? Promotional images? Images from the trailer that game articles reuse?
Also I want to immediately start cross referencing (replacing references to Stellar Blade 2 with Stellar Blade: Blood Rain, mention the sequel and link to it from the Stellar Blade Page), is this a bad idea if the article is current a bit of a stub?
Also I tend to edit bit by bit (bad habit) because I worry that if someone else edits the article at the same time as me my edits will be lost or it will lead to a git merge type situation? Will this be mistakenly flagged as abusing edits, or should I when I sit down to edit for a session only commit an edit once I’m done with that entire session?
Mainly I'm just wondering what the right way to expand the article is when so little information is currently known about the game (mainly we have a trailer).
Wik206 (talk) 23:27, 5 June 2026 (UTC)
:Hello hello!
:1. As long as it is appropriately sourced and attributed ("xyz said that…") Credible leaks & teasers should be ok if sourced by credible secondary sources and/or from the devs themselves. Do note that's to my knowledge—I'm inexperienced in the video games WikiProject and I'm unaware if they have any sort of norms surrounding leaks. If you get in any sort of trouble with it, that would be my bad. Think of it as a learning experience for both of us!
:2. Either images that game articles re-use or some sort of title logo/game cover. Try to use something that includes the title. Similar to how Stellar Blade's current page is a cover art/promo with the title displayed. I hope that makes sense.
:3. I think cross referencing should be appropriate here, even if it is a stub.
:4. As long as you don't break any templates, delete a ton of stuff without explaining why, and/or leave unfinished sentences, no. In fact, I don't think editing bit by bit is a bad approach. It's simply how some editors approach things, myself included!
:Much love, rock on, and thank you for your questions! ⚠︎ ArkadenBoden ⚠︎ (talk) 20:10, 6 June 2026 (UTC)
Viability of an Article on Sexualization of Women in video games
1st good news the Blood Rain article got ranked as starter :D
As I was doing research for Blood Rain I was reminded that over the years there have been a series of controversies surrounding sexualization of women in video over the years. I was wondering if it would be notable to have an article on either sexualization of women in video games, or controversies surrounding individual female character designs in video games. But I've also realized that if a page on this topic does not exist despite it being widely know for years, there likely is a good reason it doesn’t exist. Do you know a good place where I could discuss this with relevant editors? And also here are the main arguments I’ve come up for and against such an article:
For:
There does not appear to be a centralized article on sexualization, at least to match the depth that the argument has evolved over the years (it's likely I just haven't looked hard enough), though it is mentioned in the following articles Gender representation in video games ↗,
Sexual content in video games ↗,
Women and video games ↗
I have already found three articles with that contain sections, on negative/positive reactions to a female characters sexualization that could be the starting point for such an article. Considering the potential similarities between controversies, it would make sense to group them into one article that provided commentary on the topic as a whole.
Against:
While consolidation of information on sexualization of women in video games may be notable, controversies around individual character designs likely are not. Individual controversies are not particularly interesting and likely don't meet notability requirements outside the context of their own articles as most controversies are relatively brief and follow a similar format. An article on said controversies would either look like a list of brief 1 paragraphs for each controversy, or would attempt to provide some commentary on their relation. But these controversies are all unrelated, and assuming not enough credible media has done any research connection them (which is likely the case as they are separate and unrelated), any 'commentary' on their relation to each other would fall into original research and likely violate neutral POV as well. Such article could however be notable if only a few such controversies were provided as examples and the rest of the article broadly talked on the subject of female sexualization in video games. Also, If such article were to exist it would certainly be the subject of both intense vandalism and scrutiny due to it's highly partisan and controversial nature. Wik206 (talk) 18:28, 9 June 2026 (UTC)
:Hello hello! Apologies for the much belated response! I think such an article would be pretty solid and useful, however lengthy and complicated to write. I encourage you to perhaps ask a few other users to take up a draft with you, perhaps at the women or video games wikiproject pages!
:Cheers! ⚠︎ ArkadenBoden ⚠︎ (talk) 20:28, 25 June 2026 (UTC)
::no worries for the belatedness! I've undertaken other shenagians in the mean time, could I get a quick opinion on a second one? This article right here ↗, 2 of the sources are primary 4 are secondary though honestly there really isn't much secondary information at the time being and someone on the tree house recommended I should probably move it back to my user space under Wikipedia:TOSOON ↗ (especially cause the secondary information is quite scarce and I've honestly stretched it thin grasping at foreign articles and articles by random small news organizations) Wik206 (talk) 02:15, 26 June 2026 (UTC)
:::I agree with the Wikipedian over at the tree. The sources aren't necessarily bad, but the article would much be improved when more sources cover it. It shouldn't take long, maybe a few days, given the studio already released a well-liked title.

I'll move it back into main space whenever it's covered by more sources. I'll also work on cleaning up the mess I've left behind. Thanks! Wik206 (talk) 21:18, 26 June 2026 (UTC)
Question from Allora Valmont (06:17, 24 June 2026)
Please restore my draft of the Biography I'd created. This is NOT for advertisement or promotional purposes, it's just a biography page just like any other on Wikipedia. Wikipedia has been horribly confusing and no one has sent me a formal email explaining what the problem is. I was only sent generic links that didn't specify what content was triggering your incorrect flags of "spam" and "advertisement". Allora Valmont (talk) 06:17, 24 June 2026 (UTC)
:FWIW, I've explained in detail twice on this (declared) paid editors's talk page why the article was deleted, but so far {{ping|Allora Valmont}} seems to see the issue as my incompetence rather than anything they've failed to do <b style="font-family:Lucida;color:red">Jimfbleak</b> - <i style="font-family:arial;color:green">talk to me?</i> 11:10, 27 June 2026 (UTC)
Question from Fernsandbread (18:00, 24 June 2026)
By the way, since this morning, for Atleast iphone users, I keep seeing random pictures at the start above the title and I don’t know why, in my opinion, I think it’s very annoying --Fernsandbread (talk) 18:00, 24 June 2026 (UTC)
:Not sure why that's happening. Try seeing what you can do with Phabricator at Wikipedia:Bug reports and feature requests
: ↗. Follow the steps there. Mediawiki also has a "how to report a bug" guide that is also linked on that page.
:I hope this helps! ⚠︎ ArkadenBoden ⚠︎ (talk) 20:43, 25 June 2026 (UTC)
Question from ViridisAC (18:53, 24 June 2026)

I have the Chinese version of the George Westinghouse entry ready. Need to upload it. But my email confirmation didn't arrive at my inbox of the registered email address, Should I wait for the confirmation email before Starting? --ViridisAC (talk) 18:53, 24 June 2026 (UTC)
:To my knowledge, you don't have to wait to confirm your email to upload anything or do editing on Wikipedia! Sorry for the late-ish response. Cheers! ⚠︎ ArkadenBoden ⚠︎ (talk) 20:40, 25 June 2026 (UTC)
Question from ViridisAC (18:57, 24 June 2026)
:''Note: ViridisAC's mentor HarvardJock is away.''
Hello, HarvardJock and ArkadenBoden, Thanks for mentoring. I couldn't get any email from Wikipedia to my email inbox after a few attempts and nothing in the Spam folder for email confirmation. Can you help? Thanks. --ViridisAC (talk) 18:57, 24 June 2026 (UTC)
:Hmm. I think it could be a few things;
:1. A professional email address might have a firewall that filtered it out on accident. If you're using a work email, use a personal one.
:2. Perhaps it was entered incorrectly or formatted incorrectly when you first entered it? Check that in your settings (you probably already have—my apologies)
:Hope this helps?

Question from AAMonzonC (17:12, 1 July 2026)
Hi, I am brand new to the contributing.
I do have some useful info to add and I am seriously obssessed with the truth but I have the impression that is not easy to contribute with pieces of history that are not referenced anywhere else. Example, Cuban Hip-Hop topic. It looks like the government was the main supporter when it was the opposite. The article is lacking tones of important parts, specially the one releated to the independent groups that supported the Cuban rap. I don't know how to include some facts if they are not referenced because those people were banned.
Also very confused about my own name. As far as I read here, I cannot write about myself and I am the one who knows more about my history.
Please help me understand so I can move on and contribute. --AAMonzonC (talk) 17:12, 1 July 2026 (UTC)
:Hello! Apologies for the late response.
:1. For fixing up tone, you can base your edits off of MOS:TONE ↗. For the rest, all you need are reliable sources. ↗ When it comes to music, it can be more difficult to find them. Wikiproject Albums has a pretty solid, comprehensive list of sources for music related things here ↗.
:3. You can write about yourself, you just have to be careful. First, you have to declare your conflict of interest ↗. That link has information on how to do that. If you're changing minor things, like your birth date, adding something new (if you're a musician, something like a new entry on your discography with a source) or spelling errors, those changes shouldn't be reverted unless you don't include sources.
:Much love, rock on! ⚠︎ ArkadenBoden ⚠︎ (talk) 10:25, 10 July 2026 (UTC)

Changing an image on a page
Hello, I have almost no experience editing wikipedia. On this page https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Genesee_County%2C_Michigan there is a logo for the county from like 2010. it was changed in 2020. I uploaded the current logo to wikimedia and edited the link, but I noted it said I cannot replace the image.
Who can do that? How do I get this done? Thanks Kkoleda (talk) 16:21, 6 July 2026 (UTC)
:@Kkoleda Hey Kkoleda, I believe in order to upload images you need to be Wikipedia:AUTOC ↗ (I could be wrong). You will become an auto confirmed user once you have made ten edits. Once you have that you can hit edit on the page, hit edit on the info box then replace the name of the current image with the name of the image you want to put in. Make sure to also check out Wikipedia:Image use policy ↗ if you haven't already. If you still can't get the image replaced, I can do it for you if you want if you give me the name of the image you want replaced and image you want it replaced with. Otherwise try again when you have ten edits on the wiki. Feel free to respond for any further questions. Also checkout Wikipedia:Teahouse ↗ for help with any questions.
