This is going too far

I don't like this bot, BetacommandBot, which threatened to delete :Image:Nancy-Université.gif ↗ (the concern has been addressed, by the way). Deleters are already zealous ; if they are seconded by bots nowadays, Wikipedia will become hell. Being threatened of deletion by bots is frightening ! Deletion should only be able to be suggested by human beings, in my opinion. And not without any prior discussion on the discussion page :-o ! Speedy deletion is shocking when the image has been sitting there for almost 2 years. Without permanent watch from the uploader, a useful pic will be speedily deleted, which is a nuisance ; prior discussion would let someone else fill in the missing rationale. All the complaints about this bot are the sign that something is wrong ! Baronnet (talk) 23:14, 8 March 2008 (UTC)

Sometimes we are asked to help rescue articles by people new to our notability ↗ and sourcing ↗ policies. If the article is not fixable we can help explain why and offer alternatives. Sometimes editors who are new to Wikipedia may perceive the deletion of "their" article as discouraging. Encourage civility ↗ and maybe even {{tl|welcome}} them if they have only been templated with deletion messages.

The ''Articles for deletion'' (AfD) discussion is where the concerns regarding each article are brought up and addressed. To be an effective member of the project you need to know how AfD works as well as how to improve articles. Introduction to deletion process ↗ gives a good overview and some good advice for newcomers to deletion ↗.

Our primary work is improving Wikipedia articles and content. A more dynamic list with article links and descriptions are located at our rescue list ↗.

:The Medal of French Gratitude ↗ ''is'' the Médaille de la Reconnaissance ! It is the name under which it is usually know in English. If the mention was restored, it would mean mentioning the same medal twice. It is preferable, in my opinion, to mention the name which enables to link to the Wikipedia article about this honour.
