Welcome!

Hello, BillyDee, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions ↗. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are a few links to pages you might find helpful:

You may also want to take the Wikipedia Adventure ↗, an interactive tour that will help you learn the basics of editing Wikipedia. You can visit The Teahouse ↗ to ask questions or seek help.

Please remember to sign ↗ your messages on talk page ↗s by typing four tilde ↗s (<nowiki>~~~~</nowiki>); this will automatically insert your username and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions ↗, ask me on my talk page, or {{edit|Special:MyTalk|ask for help on your talk page|section=new|preload=Help:Contents/helpmepreload|preloadtitle=Help me!}}, and a volunteer should respond shortly. Again, welcome! FreeKnowledgeCreator (talk) 21:01, 13 February 2016 (UTC)

Wikipedia and copyright

30px|link=|alt=Control copyright icon ↗ Hello BillyDee, and welcome to Wikipedia. All or some of your addition(s) to :Edward Scobie ↗ has had to be removed, as it appears to have added copyrighted material without permission ↗ from the copyright holder. While we appreciate your contributing to Wikipedia, there are certain things you must keep in mind about using information from your sources to avoid copyright or plagiarism issues here.

It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices, as policy requires that people who persistently do not must be blocked ↗ from editing. If you have any questions about this, you are welcome to leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. — Diannaa (talk) 14:04, 14 February 2016 (UTC)

Proposed deletion ↗ of :The Fashion Studies Journal ↗

left|link=|alt=Notice|48px| ↗

The article :The Fashion Studies Journal ↗ has been proposed for deletion ↗ because of the following concern:

Non-notable journal. Not indexed in any ''selective'' databases, no independent sources. Does not meet WP:NJournals ↗ or WP:GNG ↗.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons ↗.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{Tlc|proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary ↗ or on the article's talk page ↗.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{Tlc|proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process ↗, but other deletion process ↗es exist. In particular, the speedy deletion ↗ process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion ↗ allows discussion to reach consensus ↗ for deletion. Randykitty (talk) 15:58, 2 May 2019 (UTC)

Disambiguation link notification for August 15

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Teenage Dream (Katy Perry song) ↗, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Skating rink ↗ ([//dispenser.info.tm/~dispenser/cgi-bin/dablinks.py/Teenage_Dream_%28Katy_Perry_song%29 check to confirm] | [//dispenser.info.tm/~dispenser/cgi-bin/dab_solver.py/Teenage_Dream_%28Katy_Perry_song%29?client=notify fix with Dab solver]). Such links are usually incorrect ↗, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ{{*}} Join us at the DPL WikiProject ↗.)

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 07:26, 15 August 2019 (UTC)

The Baked Bean Museum of Excellence ↗

I just wanted to let you know that I moved the content you added to baked bean ↗s to its own article at The Baked Bean Museum of Excellence ↗ per WP:SPINOUT ↗ and WP:UNDUE ↗. I left a mention of the museum at the baked bean article. Best.4meter4 (talk) 20:40, 15 September 2019 (UTC)

Hi 331dot. Indeed, I am using a workplace computer. Do I understand correctly, then, that my account isn't blocked, rather it's the offices' IP address? I have not committed any acts of vandalism from this account, so I was a bit confused as to why I had been blocked. BillyDee (talk) 18:18, 27 January 2020 (UTC)
:Correct. Your account is not directly blocked. It's your work IP that is. You should be able to edit elsewhere without difficulty. 331dot (talk) 19:29, 27 January 2020 (UTC)

post name

"Parliamentary Undersecretary of State for Housing and Rough Sleeping" is it actual name of this position? I am asking due to https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Levelling-up_policy_of_the_Conservative_government&diff=prev&oldid=1227242417 - it seems that actual name of position rather matches linked article 83.30.216.28 ↗ (talk) 04:12, 27 November 2024 (UTC)

:The name of his post changed over time. It is now "Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Housing and Homelessness", but Hughes was "Parliamentary Undersecretary of State for Housing and Rough Sleeping"

Introduction to contentious topics

{{ivmbox | image = Commons-emblem-notice.svg |imagesize=50px | bg = #E5F8FF | text = You have recently edited a page related to '''articles about living or recently deceased people ↗, and edits relating to the subject (living or recently deceased) of such biographical articles''', a topic designated as '''''contentious ↗'''''. This is a brief introduction to contentious topics and does not imply that there are any issues with your editing.

A special set of rules applies to certain topic areas, which are referred to as ''contentious topics''. These are specially designated topics that tend to attract more persistent disruptive editing than the rest of the project and have been designated as contentious topics by the Arbitration Committee ↗. When editing a contentious topic, Wikipedia’s norms and policies are more strictly enforced, and Wikipedia administrators ↗ have an expanded level of powers and discretion in order to reduce disruption to the project.

Within contentious topics, editors should edit carefully and constructively, refrain from disrupting the encyclopedia, and:

Editors are advised to err on the side of caution if unsure whether making a particular edit is consistent with these expectations. If you have any questions about contentious topics ''procedures'', you may ask them at the arbitration clerks' noticeboard ↗ or you may learn more about this contentious topic here ↗. You may also choose to note which contentious topics you know about by using the {{tl|Ctopics/aware}} template.
}}
Just letting you know that BLPs have some special rules you have not been alerted to. As the notice says, this does not imply you did anything wrong. Sirfurboy🏄 (talk) 17:54, 27 April 2025 (UTC)

Edit patterns

Hello, I noticed your recent edits like this ↗ and this ↗. Is there a reason why you are not citing your additions in the same edit? I would highly recommend adding the citations with your content, not as a separate edit. This can be construed as adding unsourced content. Again, if you can, try to add the citations with content additions in the same edit. Without the citations, your edits appear to be original research ↗. Thanks! --PerpetuityGrat (talk) 21:17, 28 July 2025 (UTC)

:Apologies, I will make the edits the way that you suggest going forward. BillyDee (talk) 21:20, 28 July 2025 (UTC)
