Herbert Von King Park ↗
Hi there, thanks so much for adding to the article! I used to live near the park, and would walk by there almost everyday, which is why I wrote the article for the park. I was surprised such a large public space, in the middle of America's biggest city, didn't have an article. I hope you don't mind me reaching out, but seeing as you're a capable enough editor to include reference, I'd love to pick your brain on how to expand the article. Comparing the article to Central Park ↗, sections are missing for "Landscape features" (geology, wooded areas and lawns, watercourses), "Wildlife", "Landmarks and structures", "Activities", "Transportation", "Issues", and "Impact". A lot of those wouldn't be applicable for HVK, but some would, like that it's a block from the G train (and near buses), maybe even sections for "Landmarks and structures and "Activities". The tricky aspect is getting reliable sources, such as the dog park, and lawns. I know there's also a weekly foodshare program by Foodnotbombs, and I have a source as of 2018 ↗, but I wouldn't want to add a reference for regular activities unless it was after 2021, given how much 2020 changed things.
Anyway, be well, and thanks again for the edit. ♫ Hurricanehink (<small>talk ↗</small>) 22:06, 10 January 2024 (UTC)
:Hi! It's a good article but I agree that it could be expanded - I think that transportation and activities are the best candidates for addition. Transportation can be cited simply from MTA subway/bus maps, but newspapers and magazines are good sources for the park's activities/events/announcements. I typically use the Wikipedia library ↗ for newspapers and sometimes do a Google search for "[subject] magazine" which can help locate articles in local/niche magazines or newsletters. Food Not Bombs is notable enough to have their own page, so I think the foodshare program could and should be included on the page using that source - it should just be worded in a way that indicates the actual years of operation are not known e.g. "In the late 2010s, Food Not Bombs operated a foodshare program based in the park, which continued until at least 2021." The Bed-Stuy FNB page ↗ indicates that it was updated in 2021 and was still operating out of HVK. I'd be happy to make this page a little pet project and add some of these things when I have a chance, but feel free to use these notes to add what you wish as well. Event coordinator granted
right|130px ↗
After reviewing your request for the "<samp>eventcoordinator</samp>" permission ↗, I have temporarily enabled the flag on your account until 2025-06-30. Keep in mind these things:
- The event coordinator right removes the limit on the maximum number of new accounts that can be created in a 24-hour period.
- The event coordinator right allows you to ''temporarily'' add the "<samp>confirmed</samp> ↗" permission to newly created accounts. You should not grant this for more than 10 days.
- The event coordinator right is not a status symbol. If it remains unused, it is likely to be removed. Abuse of the event coordinator right will result in its removal by an administrator.

Sexual Minorities Archives
Thanks for the fix to Sexual Minorities Archives ↗. My undo was that Google docs is wp:user-generated ↗ content and my undo was for not citing RS. While the google doc has the appearance of being a direct copy of the original, it is not certain... There was a previous citation to that paper. I merged the two add extracted the page with a {{tlx|pg|2=187-188}}. (which is not necessary given both have the same page ) See wp:NAMEDREFS ↗ on how to do this. The paper is a subscription-access; the field "|url-access= subscription" should be included which it is on the first citation. Do you have a subscription to verify the source supports the added content? If not, the new addition is dubious.<br />
The first citation by Rawson, K J: ''Archiving transgender: Affects, logic, and the power of queer history.'' has a {{tl|disputed}} tag. Can you resolve that issue? I added a {{tl|page needed}} tag to that Rawson cite. As it is a dissertation, is it acceptable per WP:THESIS ↗? I changed it from a {{tl|cite book}} to {{tl|cite thesis}} and added a url. Cheers Adakiko (talk) 18:47, 3 July 2025 (UTC)
