Coordinates

Thanks for this edit ↗ removing an unnecessary coords missing template! Two things to note -
# As I write this I'm in the middle of semi-automated removal of {{tl|coord missing}} from articles that have coordinates, so you don't need to manually remove them - you ''can'', but it did cause me some confusion when I got to Derelict Aircraft Museum ↗ in my list and it didn't have that template :P It should be done in the next hour or so.
# Are you aware of User:Jeeputer/coordInserter? It's a newly-created script that will help a lot if you're interested in working with coordinates :]

:1. Hi there! Thanks for letting me know. I was just going through aviation articles needing coordinates. I also noticed that article and it had a coordinate. The list said it's been there since May so I figured it got missed. Props for the auto removal of them, though!

The script I linked only works when using a specific article link from :Category:Articles missing coordinates with coordinates on Wikidata ↗, but adding {{code|1=&coordInserter=1}} to the end of any page's edit link when you have the script installed should also work (Maybe I'll make a script that adds a link to that on edit pages...) Ask for guidance

Dear Olivia, I figured out that you reviewed an article I created, Mohammad Najafi ↗. I appreciate it. I am a new user of English Wikipedia and am interested in translating pages from Persian Wikipedia ↗, especially for Iranian human rights activists ↗. So far, in addition to the article you reviewed, I also translated the article Mohammad Mahdavifar ↗. I would appreciate it if you could review it as well :)). And I had a few questions, unsure where to ask. I'm unsure about the notability procedures of local topics in English Wikipedia, and whether the coverage in well-known press but in local language also counts for English Wikipedia. Also, Is there any recommendation to check the notability of a subject/draft before transferring it to the main articles space? And my last question: Do you have an idea where and from whom I may ask questions in English Wiki? :)). In my local language Wiki, a project called Teacher-Student assigns an experienced user to new users to guide them in their contributions. Are you aware of similar projects in the English Wiki? :When you translate a page from another Wikipedia, you need to attribute the page you're translating from. For example, when you create the page, your edit summary can be something like this:

:This is required because of Wikipedia's copyright policy, but this is all you need to do to make sure you aren't accused of stealing!

:As for notability, as long as there are three sources that are reliable and independent and entirely cover the subject, you should be good to go. I'm not familiar with what sources are deemed reliable for Persian related media, so it's up to your judgement there, unless you have something similar to WP:RS/PS ↗ (or perhaps the source is on there as well)

New Pages Patrol is hosting a one-time, two-month experimental backlog drive aimed at reducing the backlog. This will be a combo drive: both articles and redirects will earn points.

The drive will run from 1 January to 28 February 2026.

The drive is divided into two phases. Participants may take part in either phase or across both phases, depending on availability.

Barnstars will be awarded based on the number of articles and redirects patrolled during the drive.

Two-month drive-exclusive barnstars will be awarded to eligible participants.

Each article review earns 1 point, while each redirect review earns 0.2 points.
