Wikipedia and copyright
30px|link=|alt=Control copyright icon ↗ Hello Composer1629! Your additions to :The Kingsmen Quartet ↗ have been removed in whole or in part, as they appear to have added copyrighted ↗ content without evidence that the source material is in the public domain ↗ or has been released by its owner or legal agent under a suitably free and compatible ↗ copyright license—''to request such a release, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission ↗''. While we appreciate your contributions to Wikipedia, it's important to understand and adhere to guidelines about using information from sources to prevent copyright ↗ and plagiarism ↗ issues. Here are the key points:
- '''Limited quotation:''' You may only copy or translate a ''small'' portion of a source. Any direct quotations ↗ must be enclosed in double quotation mark ↗s (") and properly cited using an inline citation ↗. More information is available on the non-free content page ↗. To learn how to cite a source, see Help:Referencing for beginners ↗.
- '''Paraphrasing:''' Beyond limited quotations, you are required to put all information ''in your own words''. Following the source's wording too closely can lead to copyright issues ↗ and is not permitted; see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing ↗. Even when paraphrasing, you must still cite your sources ↗ as appropriate.
- '''Image use guidelines:''' In most scenarios, only freely licensed ↗ or public domain ↗ images may be used and these should be uploaded to our sister project, Wikimedia Commons ↗. In some scenarios, non-freely copyrighted content can be used if they meet all ten of our non-free content criteria ↗; Wikipedia:Plain and simple non-free content guide ↗ may help with determining a file's eligibility.
- '''Copyrighted material donation:''' If ''you'' hold the copyright to the content you want to copy, or are a legally designated agent, you ''may'' be able to license the text for publication here. Please see Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials ↗.
- '''Copying and translation within Wikipedia:''' Wikipedia articles can be copied or translated, however they must have proper attribution in accordance with Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia ↗. For translation, see {{section link|Help:Translation|Licensing}}.

30px|link=|alt=Copyright problem icon ↗ Your edit to :The Kingsmen Quartet ↗ has been removed in whole or in part, as it appears to have added copyrighted ↗ material to Wikipedia without evidence of permission ↗ from the copyright holder. If you {{em|are}} the copyright holder, please read Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials ↗ for information on how to contribute your work appropriately. For legal reasons, Wikipedia strictly cannot host copyrighted text or images from print media or digital platforms without an appropriate ↗ and verifiable license. Contributions infringing on copyright will be removed. You may use external websites or publications as a source of {{em|information}}, but not as a source of {{em|content}}, such as sentences or images—you must write using your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously, and persistent violators of our copyright policy '''will be blocked from editing ↗'''. See Wikipedia:Copying text from other sources ↗ for more information. :Now this time, I know I can't be infringing copyrights. If you can clear this up, I would greatly appreciate it. Composer1629 (talk) 13:00, 8 September 2025 (UTC)
25px|alt=Information icon ↗ Please do not add or change content, as you did at :Palmetto State Quartet ↗, without citing a reliable source ↗. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources ↗ to see how to add references to an article. Thank you.<!-- Template:uw-unsourced2 --> Binksternet (talk) 23:03, 19 September 2025 (UTC)
Uploading Images
Hi Composer1629, welcome to Wikipedia! I just wanted to reach out as I reverted a couple of your edits on Tim Davis (singer) ↗ this morning. Wikipedia articles don't have the capability of linking to your personal computer for images. (You can see the image you've attempted to add just shows up as a broken red-link here ↗) You can upload an image via the page WP:UPIMAGE ↗. I would recommend reading Wikipedia's image use policy ↗ as well to ensure that your image abides by copyright. If you have any questions about this, let me know! Cheers, <span style="color:#7F00FF">'''Katniss'''</span> <span style="color:#FF007F"> ''May the odds be ever in your favor'' ♥</span> 14:04, 13 September 2025 (UTC)
:Yes, um, could you show me how to put the image in that info box. Composer1629 (talk) 14:06, 13 September 2025 (UTC)
::Hi Composer1629, you need to upload the image via WP:UPIMAGE ↗ first. After you've done so, then you can add it the filename to the infobox just as you've been doing. <span style="color:#7F00FF">'''Katniss'''</span> <span style="color:#FF007F"> ''May the odds be ever in your favor'' ♥</span> 14:08, 13 September 2025 (UTC)
::Hi Composer1629, I also just wanted to give you a heads up that your uploads seem to contain your full name in the file path. Just in case that was unintentional and you're concerned about your privacy, you can probably ask for those revisions to be hidden from public view by following the instructions at WP:OVERSIGHT ↗. Speedy deletion ↗ nomination of :File:-Users-williamkoger-Desktop-Unknown.jpeg ↗
48px|left|alt=|link= ↗
A tag has been placed on :File:-Users-williamkoger-Desktop-Unknown.jpeg ↗ requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F9 of the criteria for speedy deletion ↗, because it is a copyright violation ↗ of https://www.loveisafoot.com/tim-davis-bio/ and has no credible claim of non-free use ↗ or permission. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators '''will be blocked from editing ↗'''.
If the image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use it — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you ''must'' verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials ↗. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission ↗ for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy ↗ for more details, or ask a question here ↗.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may '''contest the nomination''' by visiting the page ↗ and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines ↗. <!-- Template:Db-imgcopyvio-notice --> <!-- Template:Db-csd-notice-custom --> Whpq (talk) 14:21, 13 September 2025 (UTC)

Proposed deletion ↗ of Tim Davis (singer) ↗
left|link=|alt=Notice|48px| ↗
The article Tim Davis (singer) ↗ has been proposed for deletion ↗ because it appears to have no references. Under Wikipedia policy ↗, this '''biography of a living person ↗''' will be deleted after seven days unless it has at least one reference to a reliable source ↗ that directly supports material in the article.
If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners ↗, or ask at the help desk ↗. Once you have provided at least one reliable source ↗, you may remove the {{tl|prod blp/dated}} tag. '''Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced.''' If you cannot provide such a source within seven days, the article may be deleted, but you can {{#ifexist:Tim Davis (singer)|request that it be undeleted|request that it be undeleted ↗}} when you are ready to add one.<!-- Template:ProdwarningBLP --> Whpq (talk) 14:22, 13 September 2025 (UTC)

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Brian Free & Assurance ↗, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Hoppers ↗. Such links are usually incorrect ↗, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. <small>(Read the FAQ{{*}} Join us at the DPL WikiProject ↗.)</small>
It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, --DPL bot (talk) 07:52, 18 November 2025 (UTC)

25px|alt=Information icon ↗ Hello, I'm Javajourney. I noticed that you recently removed content ↗ from :Sidewalk Prophets ↗ without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an accurate edit summary ↗. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the removed content has been restored. If you would like to experiment, please use your sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page ↗.
