Introduction to contentious topics
{{ivmbox | image = Commons-emblem-notice.svg |imagesize=50px | bg = #E5F8FF | text = You have recently edited a page related to '''the region of South Asia ↗ (India, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Nepal), broadly construed, including but not limited to history, politics, ethnicity, and social groups''', a topic designated as '''''contentious ↗'''''. This is a brief introduction to contentious topics and does not imply that there are any issues with your editing.
A special set of rules applies to certain topic areas, which are referred to as ''contentious topics''. These are specially designated topics that tend to attract more persistent disruptive editing than the rest of the project and have been designated as contentious topics by the Arbitration Committee ↗. When editing a contentious topic, Wikipedia's norms and policies are more strictly enforced, and Wikipedia administrators ↗ have an expanded level of powers and discretion in order to reduce disruption to the project.
Within contentious topics, editors should edit carefully and constructively, refrain from disrupting the encyclopedia, and:
- adhere to the purposes of Wikipedia ↗;
- comply with all applicable policies and guidelines ↗;
- follow editorial and behavioural best practices;
- comply with any page restrictions in force within the area of conflict; and
- refrain from gaming the system ↗.

Additionally, you must be logged in, have 500 edits, and have an account age of 30 days ↗ in order to make edits related to two subtopics: (1) Indian military history, or (2) social groups, explicitly including caste associations and political parties related to India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Nepal.

Editors are advised to err on the side of caution if unsure whether making a particular edit is consistent with these expectations. If you have any questions about contentious topics ''procedures'', you may ask them at the arbitration clerks' noticeboard ↗ or you may learn more about this contentious topic here ↗. You may also choose to note which contentious topics you know about by using the {{tl|Ctopics/aware}} template.
}} Ekdalian (talk) 17:24, 12 September 2025 (UTC)

Your username and userboxes
Hello! I can see that you have made many good-faith constructive edits here, and no one seems to have brought this up with you before, but your username and the userboxes on your user page are not conducive to a collegial atmosphere. Please read (or re-read) the username policy regarding disruptive usernames ↗, and guidelines on userbox content ↗ and divisive content on user pages ↗. You can request a new user name by following the instructions at Changing username ↗.
Separately, as an accessibility issue, if you want to display "sticky" images on your user page (less contentious ones than you have now), they should be wrapped inside a {{tl|Sticky decoration wrapper}} so that these can be hidden from users who do not want to see them, per Sticky decorative elements ↗. Marking edits as minor
25px|alt=Information icon ↗ Hi DPRKBEST! I noticed that you recently made an edit and marked it as "minor", but it may not have been. On Wikipedia, "minor edit ↗" refers only to superficial edits that could never be disputed, such as fixing typo ↗s or reverting obvious vandalism ↗. Any edit that changes the meaning of an article is not minor, even if it only concerns a single word. Thank you. Hypnôs (talk) 03:33, 10 March 2026 (UTC)
Thanks
Thank you for adding the information about the family code that i had put on my previous edit on the Traore page, much better written too. I threaded on too much ground previously. Trackstarx (talk) 18:37, 14 April 2026 (UTC)
:Also i'm wondering if you're able to add the stuff about his initiatives in the country and his said achievement of food self sufficiency. Thanks! Trackstarx (talk) 18:40, 14 April 2026 (UTC)
Speedy deletion declined: :Draft:A draft ↗
Hello DPRKBEST. I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of :Draft:A draft ↗, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: Not nonsense - there is meaningful content. Thank you. Shirt58 (talk) 🦘 10:20, 3 July 2026 (UTC)
:The existing article en.wp Inflanty Voivodeship ↗ was started 15 Dec 2004 and has sorta not really been improved since then. There are articles about it on other Wikipedias (pl:Województwo Inflanckie ↗, de:Woiwodschaft Livland ↗, and so on). That said... oops, nothing on teh interwebs about an associated historical figure of the name "John Dimiquavis" - first, second or third - so this appears to be a unambiguous WP:HOAX ↗. My next edit will be an apology.--Shirt58 (talk) 🦘 11:03, 3 July 2026 (UTC)
::Oops. Deleted as an obvious hoax. --Shirt58 (talk) 🦘 11:03, 3 July 2026 (UTC)
