Re "had more possession", maybe it's an WP:ENGVAR ↗ thing – that's a normal enough phrase in the context of football, it simply means that team had the ball in their possession for a greater percentage of the match than the other team. See here ↗ for example, the page says {{xt|"They had more possession"}} and it refers to Dundee having 52.3% to Hearts' 47.7%. See here ↗ for a UK report on an American football match, at one point it says {{xt|"They've had more possession than New England"}}, same thing really. Not sure if there is wording you think would work better per WP:COMMONALITY ↗?  — Amakuru (talk) 14:58, 14 January 2026 (UTC)
