User:Jgstokes/Area (LDS Church)/August 2026
Hello. There is a problem with the above-named user subpage in view of the fact that, starting in 2026, some area presidencies will have the standard 3members while others will have four. I tried to correctly algin this in view of that decision and have somehow apparently messsed up the alignment on the Africa West Area section. Since you were the one who originally suggested overhauling the area page to its' current status, I figured that if anyone had the know-how to fix this, it would be you.THnanks. :{{u|Jgstokes}}, this is a 3-column table. To keep things from being very complicated, I propose keeping it as a 3-column table. I replaced the contents for the row with:
::| colspan=3 style="text-align: center;" |
::Area president: Name (reference)
::Counselors: Name2, Name3, and Name4
:Which you can do the same for the others
:* Colspan=3 combines the three columns
:* style="text-align: center;" centers the text within the cell
:Let me know what you think or if you want it a different way.
:Thanks -Dmm1169 (talk) 20:40, 24 April 2026 (UTC)
::That is perfect. Thank you. I can implement these changes across the board as time and my circumstances allow me to do so over the next few days.This is an inspired solution. Thanks again/ User:Jgstokes (talk)—We can disagree without becoming disagreeable. 14:42, 25 April 2026 (UTC)
:::I have implemented those changes acrross the board, and they all seem to be formatted properly and working well, with the exception of an issue with the United States West Area Presidency, for which I cannot get that mysterious extra column to go away. Anything you can think of that might help would be appreciated. Thanks for walking me through this adjustment. Hello, Dmm1169,
Thank you for creating Cagayan de Oro Philippines Temple ↗.
I have tagged the page ↗ as having some issues to fix, as a part of our page curation process ↗ and note that:
{{Quote|1=Thanks for creating this article. It needs independent sources, for example reviews of the building’s design or setting, and – as another example – perhaps something independently verifiable about the local significance of its mission.}}

:{{Re|Northernhenge}}, I agree independent sources are needed. It may have some local significance. However, I currently believe it's best as a redirect as the pertinent information is already in the destination page. Thanks - Dmm1169 (talk) 02:27, 19 May 2026 (UTC)
:Thanks – I see that I sent the notification to the wrong person. (It defaults to the creator of the article even if they created it as a redirect.) Apologies --Northernhenge (talk) 12:27, 19 May 2026 (UTC)
Proposed deletion ↗ of :Cagayan de Oro Philippines Temple ↗
left|link=|alt=Notice|48px| ↗
The article :Cagayan de Oro Philippines Temple ↗ has been proposed for deletion ↗ because of the following concern:
<blockquote>'''Originally created as a redirect, this article was then written but it was subsequently tagged for third-party and promotional tone. Since then it has been reverted to a redirect, and then reverted again to an article, several times. It remains blatantly promotional (wp:NOTPROMO ↗) and lacks independent reliable third party sources.'''</blockquote>
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{Tlc|proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary ↗ or on the article's talk page ↗.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{Tlc|proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process ↗, but other deletion process ↗es exist. In particular, articles for deletion ↗ allows discussion to reach consensus ↗ for deletion based on established criteria ↗.
If the proposed deletion has already been carried out, you may request undeletion ↗ of the article at any time.<!-- Template:Proposed deletion notify -->

Area (LDS Church) ↗ & User:Jgstokes/Area (LDS Church)/August 2026
Thank you for updating the statistics on this page ↗. As I mentioned in my last comment on this page, I have created a subpage to hold the changes in area leadership until they go into effect on August 1. Would you be able to similarly update the statistics on that subpage to ensure the data remains on the main page when the subpage is copied over to it on August 1? Thanks. User:Jgstokes (talk)—We can disagree without becoming disagreeable. 17:23, 30 June 2026 (UTC)
:I'll work on it maybe later this week or on a weekend later this month. Do you know if any areas alignments are changing? Thanks - Dmm1169 (talk) 18:23, 30 June 2026 (UTC)
::Thanks. To the best of my knowledge, no, there have not been any changes in area alignments. But new to this year, some area leadership changes are effective immediately rather than on August 1, though which areas are so affected has not been confirmed. And there will probably be some other changes in area leadership that are forthcoming in the future. I say that primarily because Elder Jonathan S. Schmitt, who was originally assigned to continue his service in the Africa West Area Presidency, has been shifted back to Church headquarters to serve as the Executive Director of the Church's Missionary Department following the unanticipated death of Elder W. Mark Bassett. I'm keeping my eyes open for any other changes in either area leadership or area boundaries and will let you know if I hear anything. In the meantime, thanks again.
