:::Ref3 has WP:SIGCOV ↗, but not the rest. I'm not sure if WP:NPOL ↗ applies as a chief. If there was an entry in NZ's biographical dictionary then it would still be ok, but the closest entry there is for his daughter, which you've used as one of the refs. :{{Re|Mariamnei}}. I have since added some more sources. He seems to be notable; he was a signatory of the Treaty of Waitangi ↗ and He Whakaputanga ↗. The problem is that with many rangatira ↗, there aren't many sources about them, but they were important tribal leaders of various iwi ↗. There are now six sources on Te Hūhū's page; I hope this is enough to provide notability.
