Disambiguation link notification for September 28

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Eudeve language ↗, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Labiovelar ↗. Such links are usually incorrect ↗, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. <small>(Read the FAQ{{*}} Join us at the DPL WikiProject ↗.)</small>

Proto-Salish language ↗

Hi Ella, I noticed you had Proto-Salish on your list of pages to make while I was working on this article. It's been on my list for a while too; I created it and started it, but I'm not the most experienced with writing about proto-languages. Besides what I wrote, there's the Further reading section that you may find useful for sources to expand the article (beyond whatever else you find in your research). Best, PersusjCP (talk) 22:36, 6 January 2026 (UTC)

:Excellent contributions to Tlingit btw!! PersusjCP (talk) 00:53, 7 January 2026 (UTC)
:Yes I saw that you had created this article, thank you so much! I will definitely look at adding to it when I have the chance. <span style="color:#d68204">ella</span><span style="color:#024fba">minnow</span><span style="color:#095c02">pea</span> (<span style="color:#bf3026">371 💬</span>) 01:04, 7 January 2026 (UTC)

Tlingit#Contemporary nations ↗

Hello! Thank you for your work on Tlingit language ↗. If you have a free moment, could you look over the list of First Nations and tribes at Tlingit#Contemporary nations ↗ to see if anyone has been left out or if any of the entries don't belong? Thanks, Yuchitown (talk) 16:20, 12 January 2026 (UTC)

:I have looked over the list and didn't notice anything missing or out of place. Inuit

I'm not sure about other Indigenous peoples but Inuit means "the people". So you shouldn't use "Inuit people". That's according to the Translation Bureau ↗ of the Canadian Government. There may be other style guides that say something else but it's the only one I've see so far. Cheers. CambridgeBayWeather (#1 deranged), Uqaqtuq (talk), Huliva ↗ 04:32, 19 January 2026 (UTC)

:Thanks for the notice. It is true that the ethnonym for many Indigenous peoples translates literally to "the people", so saying "___ people" is a bit like saying "chai tea ↗". That structure is debated upon heavily, so I'll make sure to pay more attention to style guides in the future. <span style="color:#d68204">ella</span><span style="color:#024fba">minnow</span><span style="color:#095c02">pea</span> (<span style="color:#bf3026">371 💬</span>) 04:48, 19 January 2026 (UTC)

:Thank you very much! Many language articles on Wikipedia already receive so little (yet sorely needed) improvement, and the situation for Indigenous language articles is even worse.
