I actually hate grilled cheese

So yeah, my username is pretty ironic. Grilledcheeseisgreat (talk) 03:41, 28 March 2026 (UTC)

:::::::Lol. That reminds me of when I used to make throwaway Spotify accounts because I was too lazy to log in to my real one. I would smash my keyboard, type "@gmail.com" at the end, and Spotify never checked to see if it was real so it worked. So with an account named "Djkfdshjjhkfs" tied to "sknkfflkjfjfdslkjsdljksdjkl@gmail.com" with password "fjkfdjjkfdkjfdsfdsj" I could listen to music. <span style="color:#D4A017; font-weight:bold;">Grilledcheese</span><span style="color:green; font-weight:bold;">isgreat</span> 02:12, 6 May 2026 (UTC)

Taking this to user talk

I'm cognizant I'm taking the discussion a little off-topic with my aside so rather than going WP:NOTFORUM ↗ I'm bringing the chat here. Just to be clear, I'm not opposed to using advocacy groups - I even mentioned V-DEM as a counter-example that operates in the same space as Freedom House. I just don't think Freedom House, specifically, is a good source. Simonm223 (talk) 13:56, 28 April 2026 (UTC)

:I just don't see what makes Freedom house specifically a bad source. Because many advocacy groups have controversial ideologies, e.g. Amnesty International which I mentioned in the discussion. I'm simply confused on why you think specifically that Freedom House is too ideologically driven. Grilledcheeseisgreat (talk) 14:17, 28 April 2026 (UTC)
::I'm saying it's a matter of inconsistent application here. That the Armenian population experienced ethnic cleansing seems an odd reason to handle the Azerbaijani side more gently than it handles the PRC over Tibet which is, if you've ever spent any time in that part of the world, really disconnected from reality. Simonm223 (talk) 14:29, 28 April 2026 (UTC)
:::The Republic of Artsakh no longer exists. Aliyev successfully murdered/drove out the Armenian population in Nagorno-Karabakh. Freedom House doesn't decide which territories to rank based off past crimes; it includes them if they have vastly different conditions. With the Armeniens driven out, Nagorno-Karabakh has become just another part of Azerbaijan. Meanwhile, in Tibet, it's an ongoing campaign of genocide and murder. And Freedom House did condemn Azerbaijan's actions: https://freedomhouse.org/report/special-report/2024/why-are-there-no-armenians-nagorno-karabakh. Freedom House doesn't choose territories to rank off of moral rightness or past crimes; simply if conditions are different or not. This is the case for Tibet, but not Nagorno-Karabakh. Grilledcheeseisgreat (talk) 14:45, 28 April 2026 (UTC)
::::See this is the thing: Tibetans are ''not'' being genocided by the PRC. I don't mean this in the way that what happened in Xinjiang is only genocide according to the broader Lemkin definition. It's just not a thing that's happening. Tibet has been "just another part of China" since 24 October 1951. However I doubt I can persuade you that you are misled about Tibet so we can end this discussion here if you wish. Simonm223 (talk) 14:52, 28 April 2026 (UTC)
:::::Yes, I doubt we can persuade each other. Grilledcheeseisgreat (talk) 14:55, 28 April 2026 (UTC)
