Math text cut off on mobile

{{Help me-helped}}
On Midy's theorem ↗, some of the math text is cut off when viewing it on mobile. Should one enclose the cut off parts in a style="overflow:auto" div or is there a better solution?

Halikandry (talk) 00:59, 29 March 2025 (UTC)

:Normally, when q math formula exceeds the width of the screen, you can scroll it from right to left or vice versa to see the hidden part of the formula. The way for doing this may depend on your configuration. As math formulas are displayed as images, there is, as far as I know, no other way for seeing large formulas without inserting line breaks manually. D.Lazard (talk) 14:15, 29 March 2025 (UTC)

References section name

{{Help me-helped}}
On Oshere of Hwicce ↗ the references section is titled Notes. Wikipedia:SFN ↗ shows an example of Notes being for short footnotes. Should the section be renamed to References/Citations or should it remain titled Notes?

Halikandry (talk) 23:02, 2 May 2025 (UTC)

:Per MOS:REFERENCES ↗, while the “references” section heading is most popular, it is not required and there are other options it can be titled, including “notes”. If it is not conflicting with another section on the page, it is probably best it stays as is has been ↗. <span style="color:navy;">''cyberdog''</span><span style="color:orange;">'''958'''</span><span style="color:teal;">Talk</span> 23:22, 2 May 2025 (UTC)

Reliable or to be avoided

{{help me-helped}}
While editing Ermenilda of Ely ↗ I found an external link to Godchecker ↗. A cursory search on English wikipedia resulted in around 60 results where the site is used for citations and external links. My question is whether it is WP:RS ↗ or WP:ELNO ↗, especially considering its satirical slant as shown by this external link ↗ from Sun Wukong ↗. Halikandry (talk) 00:29, 8 May 2025 (UTC)
: My impression is that this is not an authoritative site, though sometimes it promises to provide some references. It's also not in any sense selective, so on that front would not be considered helpful for notability. I would treat it as WP:ELNO ↗ (11) and that NO would get harder if they start selling merch (5).
