Question about quote from newspapers.com

Hello. I have added a fairly long (3 lines) quote from an article I found on newspapers.com for J. Washington Moore ↗. Should I trim it a bit more? I feel like all of it is significant though, and those who don't have access to newspapers.com will want to read what the article said, given that it is a contentious issue. Usually I don't add quote at all, but in this case I feel like it is necessary. What do you think? (Please ping me when you respond as I may not see your page on my watchlist.) I don't see a problem with the length of the quotation, but I think it would be even better if you clipped the article, using the resource's Clipping function, and made a link to it. That way people who don't have subscriptions could see the whole newspaper article. Newspapers.com sign-up

Hi HazelAB, thank you very much for the approval. A few days before I applied to you, another editor suggested that I sign up for a free membership at Newspapers.com, so I did. However, I was unable to access anything without paying more money – and that's when the other editor informed me that I should have signed up on your list. I mention all this because after receiving your approval email, I clicked on the special partnership registration link that helps you track who subscribes via your partnership, and it said that I was already a free member. Newspapers.com renewals—Never got an account in the first place!

I got an email from you on newpapers.com account renewals, but I was not aware that I actually had a newspapers.com account via Wikipedia. I applied for one, but never received any login information or password or instruction on how to get such. I had assumed something had gone wrong, or that you were over the limit on accounts. Having that account would have made several articles I was working on much easier. If possible, can you check and see if I really do have a newspapers.com account, and let me know what my user login and password are, or how to get them? Thank you. Normally, I would simply revert the current iteration back to a clean version dated May 23, 2024, but I see that you made a few edits today. :Hello User: Fundy Isles Historian - J, the sentence I removed read: "New Brunswick Tourism claims his ghost haunts the island". The reference cited was http://www.grandmanannb.com/otherIslands.html which is not New Brunswick Tourism but Grand Manan Tourism. (I see you have corrected that when you added back the statement about a "claim".) However, the GM site contains no such claim, but says: "It is said to be haunted by the ghost of the original settler, known as “Old Man Cheney”. This is not a claim by GM Tourism about the actual existence of a ghost, but a statement that "it is said" (by whom?) that the ghost haunts the island. When I edited the article I added a reference to "ghost stories" backed up by the CBC article, which I cited. I hope this clarifies the reason for my edit. HazelAB (talk) 17:34, 24 May 2025 (UTC)

Hey, with the pretty-much completed {{tl|CharlotteNBIslands}} (I'm going to look into the last few red links but I'm thinking they're all too small/un-notable to merit articles) I'm open to any southern NB specific suggestions of articles on which to focus myself; I'm not really looking to write biographies on Gerrish and Pagan or the local MP/MLAs down here (okay I made an exception for James Lord because apparently he was a member of the KKK which is interesting lol) - and I'm not going to have the energy to just go do up random mainland McAdam, St David Parish, Pocologan articles (I have a fondness for islands lol) - but if there's anything you think I'd enjoy turning my eye toward trying to improve or hunt down a specific ancestor or flesh out some little known details (Chesapeake Affair ↗ I found a lot of details on the NBers who swore allegiance to the South in the Civil War lol), let me know - I'd appreciate some guidance!
