Question from Budew1234

Hello I am bad at usernames,

I've seen your message about how my edits for "Aurelia (crater) ↗" didn't provide a reliable source. Is it because I used Google's AI for help?
I also looked at images about it instead of just using ai. <!-- Template:Unsigned --><small class="autosigned">—&nbsp;Preceding unsigned ↗ comment added by Budew1234 (talkcontribs ↗) 23:44, 1 April 2026 (UTC)</small> <!--Autosigned by SineBot-->

:Any information on Wikipedia must be cited with a reliable source ↗ and be verifiable ↗. You can't use AI as a source because of this. I am bad at usernames (talk '''·''' contribs ↗) 03:39, 2 April 2026 (UTC)
::I have another question. I placed the question in the same section here to avoid section duplicates of a question from the same user.
::Is it possible for me to create an article of Boala Corona ↗ so it can be added to the category ''Coronae on Venus''? Budew1234 (talk) 21:25, 13 June 2026 (UTC)
:::Yes, expanding a redirect into an article is allowed (scroll up to the top and click the "Redirected from X" link and edit from there). If you'd like, you can directly add a category to the redirect instead. Also, for next time, creating multiple sections as one user is allowed and even preferred over adding something unrelated to an old section. Question from Saenryl (16:04, 12 April 2026)

:''Note: Saenryl's mentor Justiyaya is away.''
Hi, I'm reviewing recent changes now, and if I undo an edit, should I leave a message on the user's talk page, or will they automatically get notified about it? --Saenryl (talk) 16:04, 12 April 2026 (UTC)

:An automatic notification is given when an edit is reverted, but it's recommended to always leave a warning when applicable. A full list of warnings is available at Wikipedia:Template index/User talk namespace/Multi-level templates ↗, or alternatively, tools such as RedWarn ↗ can be used to automatically revert edits and warn users. Please don't revert AfD notices so fast

Hi @I am bad at usernames. The reversions you performed to @Hemant Dabral's AfDs caused them to become extremely malformed ↗. Some AfDs are nominated manually without the use of Twinkle. This was the case here. I've pinged you at the discussion, please have a read and keep this in mind for future. There are multiple steps involved when manually nominating AfDs and @Hemant hadn't finished the process yet, which is why the tags were applied before the pages were actually created. XfD is now unable to close those AfDs, which has in turn created more work for others, myself included ↗. <span style="color:#8C6A31; ">11WB</span> (talk) 22:36, 13 April 2026 (UTC)

Question from Shabriri-frenzy (00:22, 15 April 2026)

Hi! I was told you’re my mentor. I’m a new user and I’ve been trying to create a draft for the character Melina from Elden Ring. An administrator (Hammersoft) declined it saying it was AI generated.

I was really upset because I worked real hard on it manually. I’ve since completely overhauled the draft in my sandbox to include a proper infobox, voice actor info, and specific combat details that a player would know. Could you please take a look at it? I just want to make sure a real person sees the effort I put in before I try to resubmit --Shabriri-frenzy (talk) 00:22, 15 April 2026 (UTC)

:@I am bad at usernames Please note that this question has also been asked at the Teahouse.
:I've also confirmed that Hammersoft, who reviewed the original draft, is a real human being. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Teahouse#c-Shabriri-frenzy-20260415001700-Help_with_AI_flagging_on_character_draft ↗ Blue Sonnet (talk) 06:47, 15 April 2026 (UTC)

Question from M kuhner (07:12, 17 April 2026)

I was an editor quite a few years ago. I tried to recover that account, but failed, so assumed I hadn't had one. I looked at pages I'd edited and didn't see any name I could recognize as me.

Tonight I found out that my ISP had been failing to receive any email for a considerable period, so I had missed two account recovery messages, both to the same email address but with two different user names. So now I have three accounts--those two, and this one just created.

I am sorry. How do I delete the excess accounts? --M kuhner (talk) 07:12, 17 April 2026 (UTC)

:It is not possible to delete an account. I'd recommend linking your three accounts to each other through user pages (for instance, by putting the {{tl|User alternative account}} template in your user page) and only editing from one. I am bad at usernames (talk '''·''' contribs ↗) 17:38, 17 April 2026 (UTC)
::Thank you. I've done that.

G12 Tagging

Hi, and thanks for reporting a the copyright violation at : Bylines Network ↗ . I have deleted it. For future reference, there is no need to blank the page after applying the G12 tagging. In fact, it makes it more difficult for the reviewing admin to assess. The G12 tag has a link the Earwig's copyvio tool which will compare the source text to the text in the article. By blanking the article, there is no article to text to compare, and the reviewing admin needs to go into the history to get the revision number that still has the copyrighted text to reconfigure the comparison tool. Regards, Whpq (talk) 19:14, 17 April 2026 (UTC)

:Okay, thank you. I had blanked the article as it was entirely a copyvio and that's what I'd do with other copyrighted material such as an RD1 request. I am bad at usernames (talk '''·''' contribs ↗) 20:42, 17 April 2026 (UTC)

Question from Spaceantmushroom (20:22, 1 May 2026)

good evening, I created a translation (three actually) into Czech using the content translator thing (yes I fixed the stupid amount of grammatical errors, mistranslations and (most) of the template issues (I couldn't get footnotes to work, so I just removed them... Uh yeah how do I get them to work? they show up when I open the individual footnote but not when I add a footnote segment at the bottom and they all show up as [1] even when there are multiple diffrent footnote links with diffrent content inside)). I have two questions.

a) how do I get them from a personal draft to the wider language space? My understanding is that I need a moderator of some description to look at it, but I have no idea what to do to let/make/ask them to look at it.

b) How do I rename a file in my personal space? I made a typo while retyping it after I realised what the username atribution thing at the start did and didn't realise I wrote an r instead of a t, so uh, how do I fix that?

thanks in advance and apologies for bothering you. --Spaceantmushroom (talk) 20:22, 1 May 2026 (UTC)

Hello {{BASEPAGENAME}},

thumb|400px|New Page Review queue November 2025 - May 2026 ↗

'''Backlog update'''

At the time of this message, there are 15,282 articles and 32,951 redirects awaiting review.

After the January–February drive the article backlog was reduced to 15,179 articles and the redirect backlog to 19,053 respectively. Great job! However, both queues are growing rapidly and any additional reviews are highly appreciated.

'''2024 and 2025 NPP Awards'''

74px|left ↗{{no ping|JTtheOG}} was selected as the NPP reviewer of the year for both 2024 and 2025, for reviewing the most articles amongst all reviewers.
{{no ping|Hey man im josh}} and {{no ping|MPGuy2824}} won the Redirect Ninja Master Award for 2024 and 2025 respectively, for reviewing the most redirects.

Overall in 2024, one Platinum, two Gold, eight Silver, 12 Bronze and 45 Iron Barnstars were awarded. Additionally, 66 reviewers got the NPP barnstar for doing more than 100 reviews through the year. In 2025, one Platinum, ten Silver, 13 Bronze and 38 Iron Barnstars were awarded. Additionally, 38 reviewers got the NPP barnstar for doing more than 100 reviews through the year.

{{no ping|BoyTheKingCanDance}}, {{no ping|Rosiestep}}, {{no ping|SunDawn}}, and {{no ping|Vanderwaalforces}} were inducted into the NPP Hall of Fame ↗ for having two separate years of 2,000+ article reviews.

'''January–February backlog drive'''

The experimental two-month long backlog drive concluded with 183 reviewers patrolling over 27,761 articles and 35,309 redirects, earning over 36,836 points. Congratulations to {{no ping|JTtheOG}}, who achieved first place with 6,484.6 points in this drive.

'''May backlog drive'''

An article-only backlog drive is currently underway. We are hoping to make a big dent in the backlog. You can read more about it or join at Wikipedia:New pages patrol/Backlog drives/May 2026 ↗.

'''PageTriage'''

An attempt was made to get the New Pages Feed ↗ to sort by date marked as reviewed instead of date created. However we had to revert it due to bugs. We may try again in the future. You can subscribe to the Phabricator ticket ↗ if you're interested in following along.

If you have some extra time, can you take a look at one or two these small edits I made? I have bad anxiety, so I don't know if I'm helping or hurting Wikipedia.
