August 2022
Hi, this happened a while ago, so by all means ignore this message if it's no longer an issue.
{{{icon|25px|alt=Information icon ↗}}} In August 2022, you edited ↗ the article Mac Demarco ↗ and changed the spelling of his name from "McBriare" to "MacBriare". There are three problems:
# This change disagrees with the source cited on that sentence:<ref>{{cite news|url=https://www.theguardian.com/music/2014/mar/22/mac-demarco-salad-days|title=Mac DeMarco: 'I live like a scumbag, but it's cheap'|first=Hermione|last=Hoby|date=March 22, 2014|newspaper=The Guardian ↗|access-date=August 28, 2018}}</ref> {{tqq|Vernor Winfield '''Mc'''Briare Smith IV ... his mother changed his name to '''Mc'''Briare Samuel Lanyon DeMarco}}
#* '''Mac'''Briare seems to be how his grandfather spelled it.<ref>{{Cite web |url=http://www.legacy.com/obituaries/edmontonjournal/obituary.aspx?pid=120210855 |title=Vernor Smith Obituary - Edmonton, AB | Edmonton Journal |website=Legacy.com ↗ |access-date=February 9, 2018 |archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20180210002315/http://www.legacy.com/obituaries/edmontonjournal/obituary.aspx?pid=120210855 |archive-date=February 10, 2018 |url-status=dead }}</ref>
#* Biographies of living persons ↗ require particular attention
# The edits were marked as "minor". Minor edit ↗ on Wikipedia means any edit that could never be contentious, like fixing typos or reverting obvious vandalism. Any edit that changes the {{em|meaning}} of a page is never minor, even if it's only a single word.
# No edit summary ↗ was given. Edit summaries are important to explain what an edit changes and/or why. Even something short is better than nothing, like say, "Fix spelling", or even better, "Fix spelling to match infobox" if that's why. Please do your best to always fill in the summary field. To help yourself remember, enable "prompt me when entering a blank edit summary" in your preferences ↗. You can check your edit summary stats on Xtools ↗.
Thanks!

New Discord server + Women in Latin music now open
Hi there! A belated happy new year to you! First let me say, wow! We now have over 150 members!! We've grown a lot since the Latin music project became its own WikiProject 14 years ago!! Anyways, I wanted to bring your attention to two things: 1) We have collaborated with WikiProject Latino and Hispanic heritage ↗ to have our own Discord server! It can be found here! ↗ We have our own dedicated music channel on the Latinos Discord server. 2), Women in Latin music ↗ is now open as its own taskforce!! Thanks for the consensus from from the WikiProject talk page!! Both of these are entirely optional, but I just wanted bring these to your attention. Anyways, again happy belated year and let's make this year even bigger!! Erick (talk) 00:21, 3 February 2026 (UTC)
Don't fabricate information
Please do not fabricate information like you did here ↗.
{{tq|The first usage of the term is traced back to 1969, when former Israeli Prime Minister Levi Eshkol said in a speech: “What are the Palestinians? When I came here there were 250,000 non-Jews, mainly Arabs and Bedouins. It was desert. More than underdeveloped. Nothing. It was only after we made the desert bloom that they became interested in taking it from us.”}}
This is not supported by the source and is also just plainly false. The 1970 book says:
{{tq|M. Buber gives this notion mystical form: "This land recognizes us, for it is fruitful through us and precisely because it bears fruit for us, it recognizes us."6 Here is the same idea stated more bluntly: "What are Palestinians? When I came here there were 250,000 non-Jews, mainly Arabs and Bedouins. It was desert, more than underdeveloped, nothing .. . It was only after we made the desert bloom and populated it that they became interested in taking it from us."7}}
The author cited Buber's book to a 1967 book, so he was clearly aware that this is not the first quote. <span style="color:#0072bc; font-family: 'Snell Roundhand', 'Edwardian Script ITC', cursive; font-size: 1.25; line-height:1em;">NorthernWinds</span> ❄️ (<span style="color:#FF69B4;">talk</span>) 19:51, 27 February 2026 (UTC)
:You also added substantial WP:OR ↗. This entire article ↗ needs to be checked, as well as others you have created <span style="color:#0072bc; font-family: 'Snell Roundhand', 'Edwardian Script ITC', cursive; font-size: 1.25; line-height:1em;">NorthernWinds</span> ❄️ (<span style="color:#FF69B4;">talk</span>) 19:56, 27 February 2026 (UTC)
:I am afraid you have misread the endnote from the book, which states that citation #7 is associated with the following source: "Levi Eshkol, Newsweek. February 17, 1969." Citation #6 (the first quote) is associated with a 1967 book. For this reason, I will be reverting this edit of yours. Please feel free to review the footnotes from this chapter once more.
:I will also add relevant secondary sources shortly. This research is not mine and has been well documented by academics who study Western Asian history. As for the criticism section, I feel it is related because the article covers Israeli afforestation and water technology. All the criticism section covers afforestation and water-related infrastructure or conflicts (which is referenced in the body). If you feel it is unrelated or irrelevant, please make an argument on the article's talk page instead of removing the content from the page.
:I ask that you assume good faith ↗! "Fabrication" is quite an accusatory term, especially when you have misread the citations. Idulatria (talk) 22:51, 27 February 2026 (UTC)
::Citation 6 is for Buber's quote, which is earlier than Eshkol's 1969 quote. {{tq|"Fabrication" is quite an accusatory term}} do you have a better term for adding something that is not in the source?
::Please self-revert <span style="color:#0072bc; font-family: 'Snell Roundhand', 'Edwardian Script ITC', cursive; font-size: 1.25em; line-height:1em;">NorthernWinds</span> ❄️ (<span style="color:#FF69B4;">talk</span>) 22:55, 27 February 2026 (UTC)
:::Oh, I did misread it? Well, Buber did not say this term. Still, it is a fabrication that it is the first instance of the use of the term. Still needs to be removed. <span style="color:#0072bc; font-family: 'Snell Roundhand', 'Edwardian Script ITC', cursive; font-size: 1.25em; line-height:1em;">NorthernWinds</span> ❄️ (<span style="color:#FF69B4;">talk</span>) 23:03, 27 February 2026 (UTC)
::::An easily debunkable fabrication as well https://www.google.com/books/edition/Congressional_Record/AV21OSrSbwkC?hl=en&gbpv=1&dq=%22made+the+desert+bloom%22+zionism&pg=PA12724&printsec=frontcover ↗ <span style="color:#0072bc; font-family: 'Snell Roundhand', 'Edwardian Script ITC', cursive; font-size: 1.25em; line-height:1em;">NorthernWinds</span> ❄️ (<span style="color:#FF69B4;">talk</span>) 23:08, 27 February 2026 (UTC)
