What to do if a mentee's question is difficult to understand?
I have gotten several messages from mentees that are in difficult-to-understand English that makes it impossible for me to know what they're asking. Occasionally I'll have a talk page stalker answer them for me, but I don't really know how to proceed here without sounding a bit scary. I'm asking you because you've been a TPS for me occasionally. Advice? <span style="font-family:Comic Sans MS;font-size:14px;color:#DA9723;">VidanaliK</span> (<span style="color:green !important">talk to me</span>) (<span style="color:#0038b8 !important">contributions</span> ↗) 04:12, 28 June 2026 (UTC)
:Hmmm, I don't know if you ''can'' sound scary on Wikipedia. I went ahead and answered all the unanswered questions on your talk page.
:My advice would probably be either asking your LLM of choice what the user means or asking me on my user page (I like helping). Since you know other languages, translating services may also be of use.
:I'm currently on a break from Wikipedia, but if you need anything I'm here for ya! <span style="color:#0072bc;font-family:Playfair Display;font-variant:small-caps">Northern</span>''Winds'' ❄️ (<span style="color:#f6b">talk</span>) 08:49, 28 June 2026 (UTC)
::Thanks so much for the help! Translating services have only been of use twice in terms of mentorship, when someone asked me a question in Bangla, and another time someone asked me a question in French (that was actually pretty recent). Normally I'm a bit wary of LLMs but I did just realise that this is one of the best applications of them. <span style="font-family:Comic Sans MS;font-size:14px;color:#DA9723;">VidanaliK</span> (<span style="color:green !important">talk to me</span>) (<span style="color:#0038b8 !important">contributions</span> ↗) 14:25, 28 June 2026 (UTC)

Thank you please help me not be locked out of making valid edits to Paula cooper gallery page --CarlCooperPaula (talk) 00:04, 4 July 2026 (UTC)
:Certainly! I will assist you in your edit request ↗ later today. From the looks of it your responses to the rejection of the request is good. You do not need help in not getting locked out; I don't think you're heading in that direction anyways :) <span style="color:#0072bc;font-family:Playfair Display;font-variant:small-caps">Northern</span>''Winds'' ❄️ (<span style="color:#f6b">talk</span>) 11:15, 4 July 2026 (UTC)

Hey :)
I see that you're also a learner of both Hebrew and Arabic, although perhaps in reverse order than myself. My Hebrew is much Better than my Arabic, which I've only pretty recently started learning in College. And I'm also a real big fan of Qohelet :)
Lovely making your acquaintance! Any tips for someone dipping his toes into editing for the first time? And thanks again for offering to help. Jelllman (talk) 23:55, 4 July 2026 (UTC)
:@Jelllman First Arabic then Hebrew, yes. I've been interacting with both of them as if I'm native with the help of AI for a while but then I decided I wanted to actually know them.
:Lovely making your acquaintance as well! My biggest tip would be to not worry about rules and guidelines initially (other than perhaps copyright and WP:BLP ↗). If you do something wrong, someone will correct you. Of course, you must use some common sense. I volunteer to check you once in a while to see if you're doing everything correctly, and whether I can help :)
:As to Qoheleth: out of all bible books, this is my favorite one. I am unfortunately still not at a level that would allow me to fluently read the bible (its Hebrew parts) like I read the Quran or English literature. I am currently reading more modern Hebrew though. <span style="color:#0072bc;font-family:Playfair Display;font-variant:small-caps">Northern</span>''Winds'' ❄️ (<span style="color:#f6b">talk</span>) 09:38, 5 July 2026 (UTC)
::Thanks a lot! I'm tickled by the fact that both people mentoring me here have "wind" in their name lol.
::Fluently reading the Quran sounds so impressive! I currently find it hard to imagine. Though considering that I did more or less get there with the Tanakh, I suppose the mirror image makes a lot of sense haha. Hopefully we both do well on our respective language journeys :)
::And regarding Qohelet, it might be my favorite too :) Though I've come to develop some criticisms of it, as well as to have more appreciation for the more national parts of the Tanakh as well. Jelllman (talk) 13:58, 6 July 2026 (UTC)

Question from KM1018 (16:33, 7 July 2026)
Hello, may you give me basics for editing on Wikipedia? I have done it before but I don’t know how to edit fully. Thanks! --KM1018 (talk) 16:33, 7 July 2026 (UTC)
:See WP:CHEATSHEET ↗ and Wikipedia:FAQ/Editing ↗. Question from Red1111WikiFan (08:46, 10 July 2026)
How do I make citations, and those title things that separate one part of a topic and a different part? --Red1111WikiFan (talk) 08:46, 10 July 2026 (UTC)
:See Help:Introduction to referencing with VisualEditor/2 ↗ for citations and use == for the section titles.
