Comparisons between languages

Hi @Bearian Thanks for supporting my PROD of Comparison between Esperanto and Interlingua ↗.
I have since found a bunch more of these articles comparing constructed languages. Some have no references, such as:
Comparison between Ido and Interlingua ↗
Most have tags from 10+ years ago.
A couple are referenced, such as Comparison between Esperanto and Ido ↗, but the references seem to be mainly in Esperanto, so I can't check them. I presume each language will have its own references, but comparisons between them are likely to be OR.
Just seeking advice about if I should continue to PROD them, or should I take to AfD? Blackballnz (talk) 04:07, 30 December 2025 (UTC)

a draft related to wiki legal project

Hi! I saw that you are active on the Wiki project in law and wanted to ask if you could take a look at the article I have been advocating to approve: Draft:Winston Weinberg ↗

It is absurd to me, coming from a journalism background, that high-profile sources from reputable media are being so blandly overviewed. There have also been suggestions to merge the article, which does not make any sense, as it is inconsistent with Wikipedia’s practices for articles about company founders. The subject is the founder of the biggest legal tech company in the world, and he has been widely recognized in legacy media. I also added 2 books as sources.

It is counterproductive and ignorant to expect industry professionals to have media coverage about anything other than their professional background, and there are no Wikipedia policies that require this. There are 23 sources in total in the article, as they all support different information, and I do not want to delete them since they actually cite verifiable facts. As I indicated in the link I provided, this is literally a case of us versus him: if we allow pages created for profit, then our charitable status will be eliminated, crippling our organization and thus destroying the entire Wikipedia ecosystem. Redirecting geographic stubs

I'm not sure that I'm convinced of the usefulness of this. You've redirected Aetna, Sharp County, Arkansas ↗ to Cave City, Arkansas ↗; these are about 6 miles away from each other. Aetna is not mentioned at the Cave City article and likely never will be, as it's not the same subject. According to Google Maps, Harmony, Wyoming ↗ is a good 15-20 miles away from Laramie - these are clearly separate communities. Harmony's article mentioned Laramie as where the students where shipped off to high school, but that's because the local school district ↗ covers the entire county and according to our article only operates three high schools. These communities have no real connection to where they're being redirected other than being kinda close, and what readers are left with are confusing, unhelpful redirects that point to places that make no mention of the redirect subject. :Thank you. Harmony literally shares a ZIP code, high school, Roman Catholic parish, WalMart, and county with Laramie, where my sister lives; everything is spread out in Wyoming. Same with all the other redirects that I've done. I *always* do several BEFORE searches before redirecting, including looking for city/county boundaries, post offices, amenities, and driving directions. Aetna is in the same ZIP code and county as Cave City. I haven't redirected all the communities I've seen, because some of them don't have a good enough redirect target. I do keep in mind that our core readership will be looking for, for example, South Succotash, which I might redirect to Micropolitan City. You're free to take any of them to AfD. PRODs

Can I suggest checking on PRODs. As one examples Andrew Honeycutt ↗ was a clear target for a pileon of PRODs from a team of IPs who were perhaps the same person. :{{U|Ldm1954}}, I check both WP:AfD ↗ and :CAT:PROD ↗ most days, unless caretaking takes me away from WiFi. Depending on the article, I second it, deprod it, find sources, or just move on.
:I got flamed on my talk page this weekend (see above) for redirecting prodded articles. Back in October 2025 (see above) I tried to fix a backlog of Prods by temporarily removing the tags, but likewise I was flamed by several users. I'm close to giving up on the whole thing.
:As far as the specific case, it's safe for now. If you want to resolve the issue, you can take it preemptively to AfD. I did that recently with a law stub, but I don't want to be accused of canvassing. Bearian (talk) 16:50, 2 February 2026 (UTC)

There is literally nothing about the writer as a person (which is needed for BLP) apart from in self-published sources. I'll take this one to AfD.
::::I've just spent a long time bringing List of literary adaptations of Pride and Prejudice ↗ up to scratch - it was previously a mess of unreferenced fan fiction (and I've probably been quite generous keeping some of it in). During that time I've noticed that a lot of BLP articles about romance writers are almost wholly unsourced to reputable sources (while they might have appeared in a NY Times bestseller list), and I'm planning to PROD some of them. So you may see these, but be assured that I've looked closely at the references.

Sandbox pages aren't allowed to be in mainspace categories, not even temporarily. You may use them in ''disabled'' form, or you may leave them off the sandbox page and add them only when you're moving the content into an actual mainspace article, but there's absolutely no 24-hour dispensation for temporarily putting sandbox pages into categories that would group them with mainspace articles and thus be visible to end users. Powerful people in Palm Beach and Texas want to use our supposed antisemitism and our alleged bias against Israel as an easy excuse to eliminate the WMF's charitable status (retroactively). That would destroy Wikipedia. We must be careful and completely above the board, at least until next January 2027. In February you redirected a traditional Russian folk songs wikipage to a random French romantic films page, could I ask why this happened? The latters page makes no mention of the song.

Hello, I have just finished going through Jim Kokoris ↗ and I wanted to suggest you look more closely at general references in future before PRODding an article. The article was cited to the biographical dictionary ''Contemporary Authors ↗'', which is a high-quality source. Additionally, before tagging an author's article for notability, it is good to do a quick check to see if their books pass NBOOK; Kokoris's plainly do. Something being related to living people does not make it a BLP. The page Monarchy of the United Kingdom ↗ is not somehow a BLP because there is a living British monarch, but information about the current King Charles included in the article is still subject to the same standards of sourcing as in the the Charles III ↗ article, which is a BLP. It's a meaningful distinction. Aderera ↗ and Adégbémiró ↗ are likely non-notable, but they aren't in any way biographical. They are poorly sourced microstubs containing linguistic information. I note you deprodded this (now deleted ↗) article on the grounds that it appeared to be a village. This is understandable, since the article creator wrote that it was a village, but please note that the name is literally "Shahid Behesti ↗ Training Camp" and is the location of a police academy ↗.

This is the fundamental problem with these Iranian census locations: the Iranian census, like a lot of other countries censuses, is simply counting the number of people. They don't care whether a location is a town, a village, or a city, or anything at all. In this case, they're just counting the number of new recruits staying in the local police barracks. New SCC Judgments page

HI Bearian, I've just uploaded a new SCC judgments page, this time for 1988: 1988 judgments of the Supreme Court of Canada ↗. As with the new 1987 one, it's intended to replace an old unfinished page: 1988 reasons of the Supreme Court of Canada ↗.

When I did this with the new 1987 page, I PRODed the incomplete 1987 one, but you turned it straight to redirect.

That was fine by me, but could you help me understand when to PROD and when to just redirect? Don't want to step on anyone's toes. I did notify the creator of the unfinished 1987 page, but didn't hear back; they've been inactive since 2024, so not a surprise.

::I've been doing three things since June 30: adding citations to unsourced articles that I find interesting ↗, adding a source to a few articles that I see on the old categories of unsourced articles, and updating tags on articles that are actually referenced. I'm about to template the article Lesya Granger ↗ and nominate it for AfD.

But I found it because I was looking at expiring drafts and, although the article in mainspace doesn't say it's been copied from Draft:Lesya Alexandra Granger ↗, they're very similar: compare ↗.

Lesya Granger ↗ says it's a translation of another language wiki. Draft:Lesya Alexandra Granger ↗ just says page created. Mme Maigret (talk) 11:38, 8 July 2026 (UTC)
