Corrections or intrusions?

Good morning.

For some time now, <Mariam nei> has been scrutinizing and questioning my work. As a result, I sent him the message below. I wanted you to be aware of this...

;Quote
Good day. Considering that you seem to be very careful about erasing/correcting/amending my texts, why you don't clearly and completely describe my "mistakes." Naturally, your observations should be supported by absolutely referenced sources. I'm ready to read, understand, and adapt…

The end of the funerals

Good morning.

I'm pleased to inform you that I've completed the review/correction of British defunct airlines page(s).

There are still a few small tweaks to be made here and there.

I'd love for you to take a look at this (hard) work of mine and get your opinion... Settignano (talk) 09:03, 5 July 2026 (UTC)

Regarding reverts

Just wanted to follow up regarding the revert at Japanese Air Force One ↗. I agree that something needed to be done about the Planespotters source, but the policy at WP:PRESERVE ↗ discourages entirely removing the content if the problem is limited to one area, and a tag or a partial revert is preferred. I also noticed the other editor only has about a thousand edits, and at that point I try to explain things in less jargony or accusatory language to avoid making them feel bitten, regardless of whether they're in the right. '''<span style="color:#0c4709">Thebiguglyalien</span>''' (<span style="color:#472c09">talk</span>) 22:25, 5 July 2026 (UTC)

:The problem is, I have no clue what part of an addition was sourced to the reliable source and what part to the unreliable source - only the editor who made the edit knows that. I took care to only revert the specific edit where they added the bad source, and used the standard “unreliable sources” notice template to let them know. I was surprised when it escalated to the point it did, with the other editor rather out of sorts… that’s why I just left it with a final reply and walked away <span class="nowrap"><span style="color: RebeccaPurple">Danners430</span> tweaks made ↗</span> 22:29, 5 July 2026 (UTC)
::Yeah, I've definitely been there with edits I've checked. In this case, looking at the diff at Special:Diff/1362637261 ↗, it looks like the changes in that paragraph were copyedits, and the Planespotters source was just added for good measure separately from the rest of the edit. So I can understand both perspectives here. '''<span style="color:#0c4709">Thebiguglyalien</span>''' (<span style="color:#472c09">talk</span>) 22:41, 5 July 2026 (UTC)

Query

Hi @Danners430,

I have a small query, if you have sometime, please clarify, I'd understand if you can't reply.

This reference ↗ says Vijayawada International Airport in text body, but says Vijayawada Airport in the title, and there are many references which say similarly (Title- Vijayawada Airport, Text body - Vijayawada International Airport).

In such cases, how does one determine common name? Like, is it purely based on references, or is it a mix of interpretation from editors along with references? Wikipicked (talk) 10:21, 8 July 2026 (UTC)

:Personally I'd be giving more weight to the title, as it's not uncommon for news outlets to put the longer, full names of places or businesses in the body, while keeping the more common, succinct name in the title. However, that's better raised in the move discussion tbh <span class="nowrap"><span style="color: RebeccaPurple">Danners430</span> tweaks made ↗</span> 11:15, 8 July 2026 (UTC)

Excursions in Germany

Hello!

I'm very happy to be able to safely correct the page(s) on defunct German airlines. It was definitely in need of corrections and updates.

So far, there have been no "intruders" visits... Settignano (talk) 15:25, 9 July 2026 (UTC)

:You need to learn, and fast, that there is no such thing as "intruders" - and labelling other editors as such will see you on a fast track to an administrator's noticeboard. The amount of WP:OWN ↗ behaviour you've been displaying of late is exceedingly concerning. You are part of a collaborative project, you are not the only editor on these pages. <span class="nowrap"><span style="color: RebeccaPurple">Danners430</span> tweaks made ↗</span> 15:29, 9 July 2026 (UTC)

BRD

Hi {{u|Danners430}}, I've told so many people I was sure I'd have written it here somewhere too; if I previously did, please disregard my message. Special:Diff/1363355935 ↗ shows nicely why citing BRD as if it was a policy is problematic: It isn't, and people have a point when ignoring such a message. Neither would BRD justify reverting by itself even if it was a policy; it explicitly does not. Best regards, &#126; ToBeFree (talk) 19:39, 9 July 2026 (UTC)

:At the time, I cited it because I hadn’t realised they had been edit warring in the days prior, so I thought it was their first revert. It’s also the reason I used the toned down warning. However it’s a very good point, thanks for that - in your opinion, what would you recommend citing, as at the end of the day summaries like that are me trying to encourage them to actually discuss? <span class="nowrap"><span style="color: RebeccaPurple">Danners430</span> tweaks made ↗</span> 19:42, 9 July 2026 (UTC)
::Well, if you had any reasons beyond "the other user is edit warring", you could cite these (often it's WP:ONUS ↗/WP:BURDEN ↗/WP:BLPRESTORE ↗ for me, all policy sections), and if there isn't, WP:PREFER ↗ is limited to administrators protecting pages. &#126; ToBeFree (talk) 19:45, 9 July 2026 (UTC)
:::I'll have a good think - thank you for the advice :) <span class="nowrap"><span style="color: RebeccaPurple">Danners430</span> <sub>tweaks made ↗</sub></span> 19:46, 9 July 2026 (UTC)
::::(If I may add, the stability/duration of a revision is practically irrelevant as that kind of consensus ends when something is disputed or reverted ↗.) Thanks and no worries! &#126; ToBeFree (talk) 19:47, 9 July 2026 (UTC)
