Chinese characters for Vietnamese names

Please stop adding Chinese characters to names of modern Vietnamese cities. They have not been used officially for almost a century, and some of those places were named after these characters have become irrelevant. DHN (talk) 01:16, 3 May 2024 (UTC)

User:Kuroha Jerry|Kuroha Jerry (talk) 01:54, 3 May 2024 (UTC)
::Chữ Nôm had been unused in Vietnam for almost a century, and it has no official status. It might be pertinent to add them for places whose names have been around for a while (like Hanoi), but adding them for places that were named after the 20th century (like Dalat and Ho Chi Minh City) makes no sense. Place names with Chinese roots or were named earlier already have the Chinese characters mentioned in the article body. DHN (talk) 03:34, 3 May 2024 (UTC)
:::@DHN OK, I'll pay attention of that. I'll not add Chu noms at articles of latest cities and towns in Vietnam anymore. Kuroha Jerry (talk) 21:20, 3 May 2024 (UTC)

25px|alt=Information icon Hello! Thank you for your efforts to improve Wikipedia, and in particular for adding references, as you did to Ben Gurion Airport ↗! However, adding a bare URL ↗ is not ideal, and exposes the reference to link rot ↗. It is preferable to use proper citation templates ↗ when citing sources ↗, including details such as title, author, date, and any other information necessary for a [[bibliographic citation ↗. Here's an example of a full citation using the {{tl|cite web}} template to cite a web page:
: <syntaxhighlight lang="wikitext">Lorem ipsum<ref>{{cite web |title=Download the Scanning Software - Windows and Mac |publisher=Canon Inc |work=Ask a Question |date=2022 |url=https://support.usa.canon.com/kb/index?page=content&id=ART174839 |access-date=2022-04-02}}</ref> dolor sit amet.</syntaxhighlight>
which displays ''inline ↗'' in the running text of the article as:
:Lorem ipsum{{fake ref|1}} dolor sit amet.
and displays under '''References''' as:
#^ Download the Scanning Software - Windows and Mac ↗". ''Ask a Question''. Canon Inc. 2022. Retrieved 2022-04-02.
If you've already added one or more bare URLs to an article, there are tools available to expand them into full citations: try the Citer tool ↗, or in the wikitext editor ↗, try the reFill tool ↗, and in the Visual Editor ↗, the reference dialog ↗ can convert some bare urls into a full citation.
Once again, thanks for adding references to articles. <!-- Template:Uw-bareurl --> <span class="nowrap"><span style="color: RebeccaPurple">Danners430</span> <sub>tweaks made ↗</sub></span> 08:03, 4 October 2025 (UTC)

:@Danners430 I see, thank you. JKuroha (talk) 14:44, 4 October 2025 (UTC)

25px|alt=Information icon ↗ Hello, I'm Danners430. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, :Ben Gurion Airport ↗, but you didn't provide a reliable source ↗. On Wikipedia, it's important that article content be verifiable ↗. If you'd like to resubmit your change with a citation ↗, your edit is archived in the page history ↗. If you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. <!-- Template:uw-unsourced1 --> <span class="nowrap"><span style="color: RebeccaPurple">Danners430</span> tweaks made ↗</span> 21:42, 29 October 2025 (UTC)

:@Danners430 the source about suspension is literally in the link, it says "Cathay Pacific temporarily suspends Tel Aviv services; In view of the uncertainty related to the ongoing situation in Israel, all Cathay Pacific flights to and from Tel Aviv will be suspended until further notice." JKuroha (talk) 22:07, 29 October 2025 (UTC)
::That does make sense - but how are editors supposed to know this? Please do use edit summaries to explain things like this so such confusion doesn’t occur… even if you just say something like “suspended per source”. <span class="nowrap"><span style="color: RebeccaPurple">Danners430</span> tweaks made ↗</span> 22:47, 29 October 2025 (UTC)

List of department stores of Hong Kong ↗ moved to draftspace

Thanks for your contributions to List of department stores of Hong Kong ↗. Unfortunately, I do not think it is ready for publishing as a live article at this time because '''it has no sources'''.
I have converted it to a draft which you can improve, undisturbed for a while.

Please see more information at Help:Unreviewed new page ↗.
When the article is ready for publication, please click on the "Submit the draft for review!" button at the top of the page OR move the page back. Significa liberdade <small>(she/her)</small> (talk) 03:41, 2 May 2026 (UTC)
