Copy and Paste Move

25px|alt=Information icon ↗ Hi, and thank you for your contributions ↗ to Wikipedia. It appears that you tried to change the title of :User:Jason Rees/Zuman ↗ by cutting its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into :Cyclone Zuman ↗. This is known as a "cut-and-paste move ↗", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history ↗, which is legally required for attribution ↗. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be ''moved'' to a new title together with their edit history.

In most cases for registered users, once your account is four days old and has ten edits ↗, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab ↗ at the top of the page (the tab may be hidden in a dropdown menu ↗ for you). This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect ↗ from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves ↗ to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Requests for history merge ↗. Thank you. <!-- Template:uw-c&pmove --> '''<span style="font-family: 'Georgia';"><span style="text-shadow:2px 2px 2px #a6a6a6"><span style="color: #8c8c8c;">Valorrr</span></span> <span style="color: #000000">(<span style="color: #000000"><span style="text-shadow:2px 2px 2px #8c8c8c">lets chat</span></span>)</span></span>''' 15:35, 28 October 2025 (UTC)

Help on high resolution storm images

Hey, JX! I saw that you uploaded a higher resolution image of BOB 01 for the 2026 North Indian Ocean cyclone season ↗. Can I have some help on how to get higher resolution images like you did? 🍋 <small><small>🍋(talk!)</small></small> 03:08, 8 January 2026 (UTC)

:Of course!
:I see you're using NASA Worldview, which is the same site I use. I take pictures with the camera button in the top-right corner of the screen (all of this is on PC). The button should say "Take a snapshot." It should give you a box to expand to crop the full image and a box with options in the top-right. Normally I try to put the storm's eye or just the center point in the middle of the image and avoid the lines that sometimes cut through the clouds in the picture. A 2:3 ratio works best for the dimensions. As for the options, the only thing I really change is the resolution, which I switch from 1km to 500m. This should make it look better in quality. Then I press download, and it opens a separate tab with the image, which I right-click and select "Save image as." Now I can use it for whatever I need.
:Hope this helps! JXthemeteorologist (talk) 04:10, 8 January 2026 (UTC)
::I’m in mobile… Thanks for the advice though! 🍋 <small><small>🍋(talk!)</small></small> 04:42, 8 January 2026 (UTC)

typhoon Kammuri ↗ edit

I undid your recent edit ↗. As I said in my edit summary, there’s no need to say “typhoon” three times in one sentence. Does that make sense? Hurricanehink mobile (talk) 01:02, 15 April 2026 (UTC)

:I understand. I didn't see the edit you made before I changed that, sorry. JXthemeteorologist (talk) 01:40, 15 April 2026 (UTC)
