Disambiguation link notification for December 9

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Ohio Valley Mall ↗, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Burlington ↗. Such links are usually incorrect ↗, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. <small>(Read the FAQ{{*}} Join us at the DPL WikiProject ↗.)</small>

Recent edit reversion

In this edit here ↗, I reverted some information that appears to be a violation of our copyright policy ↗.

I provided a brief summary of the problem in the edit summary, which should be visible just below my name. You can also click on the "view history" tab in the article to see the recent history of the article. This should be an edit with my name, and a parenthetical comment explaining why your edit was reverted. If that information is not sufficient to explain the situation, please ask.

I do occasionally make mistakes. We get hundreds of reports of potential copyright violations every week, and sometimes there are false positives, for a variety of reasons. (Perhaps the material was moved from another Wikipedia article, or the material was properly licensed but the license information was not obvious, or the material is in the public domain but I didn't realize it was public domain, and there can be other situations generating a report to our Copy Patrol tool that turn out not to be actual copyright violations.) If you think my edit was mistaken, please politely let me know and I will investigate. <span style="color:#000E2F;padding:0 4px;font-family: Copperplate Gothic Light">S Philbrick</span><span style=";padding:0 4px;color:# 000;font-family: Copperplate Gothic Light">(Talk)</span> 18:02, 23 May 2026 (UTC)

Edit summaries

Please do not make edits to articles with inaccurate or misleading edit summaries ↗. Your edit ↗ to Arden Fair ↗ removed sourced information with the edit summary "Fixed error." As I have stated ↗ on the page's talk page, no reliable sources have described Restoration Hardware or Dick's House of Sport as "anchor tenants" (see WP:TENANTS ↗). If you feel differently, you're welcome to discuss this with me over on that talk page or here. Thanks. TheAlienAdventures (talk) 20:50, 29 May 2026 (UTC)

Valley River Center

Please do not use terms like "Currently" in articles, as they can get out of date quickly. Please instead use specifics where you can. For example, {{tq|Dick's Sporting Goods confirmed they would be opening at a store at Anytown Mall with a targeted opening date of March 2027.}} See Wikipedia:Recentism ↗. Thanks. <span style="color:green">'''Ten Pound Hammer'''</span> (<small>they/them</small>) • (What did I screw up now?) 03:33, 25 June 2026 (UTC)

:Sorry about this. I didn’t realize the issue with the word “currently” until just recently. This was a complete mistake on my part. Was trying to update information but that word shouldn’t have been used at all. I apologize for that. JohnTron70 (talk) 14:18, 1 July 2026 (UTC)

Blocked

Hi, JohnTron. I'm sorry to say the many, many warnings you have received, especially about your lack of reliable sources, mean that, however well-meaning your contributions are, you cause too much work for others, who have to correct your errors and try to (fruitlessly) explain the problems to you. An example that Ten Pound Hammer gives in their ANI report is that they warned you not to use terms like "currently" in article text,https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=User_talk:JohnTron70&diff=prev&oldid=1361021740 ↗ explaining ''why'' you should not, and then the next day ↗ you did it again. I don't understand how something like that can happen - it suggests you have no interest at all in editors' attempts to help you edit better. That's only one example out of many. I have therefore blocked you indefinitely. You can request unblock from an uninvolved administrator by placing <nowiki>{{unblock|your reason here}}</nowiki> on this page. Bishonen &#124; tålk 20:46, 28 June 2026 (UTC).

:I’m sorry about this. I realize that this will likely result in me being blocked for quite sometime. I thought the vast majority of my edits were acceptable because a lot of them involved me trying to update information to make it more up to date. I realize a lot of my edits had errors in them but I generally saw it as very harmless as I believed the information was accurate. I see that a lot of mall pages are constantly out of date and people do not update them at all when new tenants are announced and new tenants open. That’s the main thing I try to do on Wikipedia as I felt there was a negative bias created towards malls when information is not updated which it very often is not on Wikipedia mall pages.
:I apologize for the sockpuppeting. That was very foolish of mean and I realize that could result in me being blocked for sometime. I definitely will not do that in the future. Sorry not communicating more on here. I will try to in the future. JohnTron70 (talk) 14:16, 1 July 2026 (UTC)
:I’ll take a break from editing on Wikipedia I suppose if that makes things better. I usually would update mall Wikipedia pages to try to keep the information as up to date as possible as I felt if it wasn’t it would create a negative bias towards the mall but I realize I did those edits incorrectly and I should not have sockpuppeted after getting blocked. I apologize for that and I’ll take a break for now. JohnTron70 (talk) 14:22, 1 July 2026 (UTC)

JohnTron, evading a block is never a good idea. Even when you're successful for a time, any edits you make while evading a block, even good ones, may be reverted by any editor in good standing, so any good work you do while sockpuppeting just goes down the drain. A much better approach, and one that could actually be successful, is to directly discuss the reasons why you were initially blocked, and how you would edit differently, in the future. Unfortunately, it's a little trickier now that you've sockpuppeted, which is a very big deal, and makes other admins and editors far less likely to trust you. It's in your interest to make that a one-time-only thing. CoffeeCrumbs (talk) 23:08, 30 June 2026 (UTC)

:Sorry. I apologize for sockpuppeting. I do realize this might result in my account being blocked for quite some time. I have no interest in intentionally vandalizing Wikipedia pages and I realize I need to greatly improve sourcing and the way I word my edits such as other people saying not to use “currently” in some of the Wikipedia pages about malls.
:I update a lot of mall Wikipedia pages to keep them up to date as I feel they constantly have out of date information which I tried to update.
:Sorry. I should have been aware that sock puppeting is not allowed. That’s 100% my responsibility for that.
:I’m really sorry for any harm in this, I don’t generally mean to make Wikipedia pages worse with unverified information. I genuinely thought a lot of information was acceptable. Now I know it’s definitely not. JohnTron70 (talk) 14:10, 1 July 2026 (UTC)
