Old date errors in infoboxes

Thanks for finding and fixing the date error at Herbert Maitland ↗! Similar errors at Arthur Colvin ↗ and Horton Williams ↗ that were introduced (obviously accidentally) by the same user in 2008 were corrected in 2013 and 2014, respectively; and those seem to be all such cases, as far as I can tell (at least from this user). As you said, it is surprising that the error in Maitland's article could survive for this long.

One thing: When you fix old date errors in infoboxes, like here, chances are that these have spread elsewhere. It is helpful to check the corresponding wikidata entry. I've fixed wikidata:Q5735016 ↗. Also, somewhat amusingly, the only other language that has an article about Maitland, the Arabic Wikipedia (ar:هربرت_ميتلاند ↗), had the dates in their infobox correct, but gave wrong dates in the article body. I've fixed that error, too. Renerpho (talk) 06:03, 28 April 2026 (UTC)

:{{re|MakaylaHippo1998}} I notice you added a lot of Template:Hoax ↗ tags to articles. Please don't do this unless there is strong evidence that you're dealing with a bad faith creation, and without doing a careful WP:BEFORE ↗ check. Absence of evidence isn't enough, and honest mistakes aren't either. See the example of 1999 Libyan Super Cup ↗, which you tagged because you "highly doubt that the stadium was called 23 October Stadium". Why did you doubt that? The article about the stadium on the Arabic Wikipedia ar:ملعب_الخمس ↗ says that that's its former name. Finding good sources for that name on the internet may be difficult, due to the language and time barrier, but mentions on pages like https://forum.kooora.com/f.aspx?t=21171642 ↗ (published in 2010) are at least an indication that the name is real. Justin Spring

Hello, you added a more citations needed banner to the article of Justin Spring (author). The entire article was cited. Every sentence or group of sentences had a citation. The only uncited sentence stated that Samuel Steward lived as an openly gay man from 1909 to 1993, and this was general knowledge.

If an article is well cited, please do not add this banner. Golan1911 (talk) 17:43, 29 April 2026 (UTC)

Nicole Ménard

You added a BLP PROD tag to Nicole Ménard ↗. However, according to Wikipedia:Proposed deletion of biographies of living people ↗ to be eligible for a PROD the article must "contain no sources in any form (as references, external links, etc., reliable or otherwise) supporting any statements made about the person in the biography." There was an external link to Nicole Ménard ↗ at the National Assembly of Quebec ↗ website. The external link contained several statements that backed up what was said in the article. It should have not been sent to PROD. CambridgeBayWeather (#1 deranged), Uqaqatigijaa (talk), Huliva ↗ 18:02, 29 April 2026 (UTC)

Declined speedy

I just declined your requests for speedy deletion at European Pain Federation ↗. Is a common mistake people make with G5. It's not enough for the creator to be banned or blocked, they must have been banned it blocked at the time of article creation. So usually, it's about articles created by sockpuppets from already blocked masters. The article had some promotional elements, but not enough to warrant a G11. I suggest you do a WP:Before ↗ and bring it to WP:AfD ↗ if necessary.

P.S. could you please set up archiving on your talk page? That makes communication easier. —Femke 🐦 (talk) 07:40, 3 May 2026 (UTC)

AIV

Hi, it's me, The username filter bot is way too sensitive. I noticed that you recently reported me here ↗ on AIV ↗ because "actions evidently indicate a vandalism-only account". Did you misclick (or something) or am I '''''really''''' screwing up without realizing? Just wanting to check because I would be really upset if I were blocked by mistake. The username filter bot is way too sensitive (talk) 00:43, 8 May 2026 (UTC)

:Also, I reviewed my contributions and I am pretty sure I have not done anything unconstructive on Wikipedia (aside from accidentally reverting a revert of vandalism ''once''). Please help me understand. Thanks, The username filter bot is way too sensitive (talk) 00:47, 8 May 2026 (UTC)
:I was a little confused for a second, sorry because to be fair, your username may not have been the best choice, a good number of well-established editors would have probably reported you to WP:UAA ↗ as it gives the impression that you clearly have (or tried to) create one or more Wikipedia accounts which violate the username policy, you are kind of lucky nobody did. I appreciate your contributions greatly however, but you should probably consider changing your username. MakaylaHippo1998 (talk) 00:48, 8 May 2026 (UTC)
::As this is the second thing regarding my username (see my talk page), I'll definitely change it. (P.S. I chose this username because when I was registering on Wikipedia, the bot kept giving me "Username blacklisted", "username entered already in use", and "username too similar to already existing username" messages. This username ended up actually working, so I used it.) The username filter bot is way too sensitive (talk) 00:51, 8 May 2026 (UTC) (soon to be something else)

Reverting users with bad usernames

Hello, if the user you are reverting has an offensive, libel, or otherwise poor username, please do not use the normal rollback button since that leaves their username in the edit summary and requires additional cleanup. I have a script at User:LuniZunie/scripts/LTA-rollback.js that will rollback with a single click and remove the username if you want a quick easy button, but please make sure your edit summaries don't contain offensive names. Cheers. <i style="font-family:cursive,Serif;text-shadow:1px 1px 2px #f008;background:linear-gradient(90deg,#fb0,#f0b);-webkit-background-clip:text;-webkit-text-fill-color:#0000">– LuniZunie</i>(talk) 22:58, 9 May 2026 (UTC)

User:YamaIsLearningSh*t

As we have discussed previously, please be very cautious about reporting accounts that have not edited to WP:UAA ↗. A username needs to be flagrant, egregious and highly offensive for a block without editing. This username is nowhere near that standard. Cullen328 (talk) 05:50, 15 May 2026 (UTC)

:Thanks, I thought anything with straight-up curse words was considered highly offensive and a no-warning block. These past few days I have been '''very''' careful about all reports to UAA, and these usernames seemed to cross the line of a no-warning block. MakaylaHippo1998 (talk) 05:56, 15 May 2026 (UTC)
::Neither "shit" nor the minced variant "sh*t" are {{tpq|straight-up curse words}} in 2026 English, and neither is highly offensive in casual conversation. The word is quite commonly used these days in everyday conversation, by comedians and in movies and on TV. It may be on the crude and vulgar side, and personally I think it is a poor choice for a username. But the standard you should be following is {{tpq|Usernames that are blatantly profane, violent, threatening, or sexually explicit}}. Also keep in mind that an account that does not edit is by definition not disruptive, and most new accounts never edit. Whenever you file a report at UAA, you are placing a claim on an administrator's valuable time. Please try to limit your reports to usernames that are ''indisputably disruptive''. Cullen328 (talk) 06:42, 15 May 2026 (UTC)
:::For reference, is this username considered an acceptable report without warning, it is egregiously bad as I explained in the report, can you confirm if this was indeed a good no-warning report or not? MakaylaHippo1998 (talk) 07:56, 18 May 2026 (UTC)
:::It may not be a straight up profanity, but "learning shit" is in itself a personal attack in this context (it parses as "isn't learning anything", and not in a particularly kind manner ↗). Reverted Changes

Hi! I had added sources to the Synnefo page (https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Synnefo&diff=prev&oldid=1358299065) and based on them (see page 7 of the USENIX source) added text. You reverted them due to lacking citations, but the list of authentication methods of Astakos is mentioned verbatim in the PDF.
Interestingly, these sources, and the text I added, were originally added in 2014 (https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Synnefo&diff=prev&oldid=602732974) but user Special:Contributions/182.50.68.8 ↗ removed them in 2017 (see their "Contributions" page of which the 3 are vandalisms on the Synnefo page, including changing a year to 1991) without explanation and even left a sentence hanging since there is a colon without anything after it. Anyway the problem now is that while I added both the source back (and one more from IEEE), you reverted all my changes for "unsourced content" when in fact the first edit inserts reliable references from well-known peer reviewed journals: USENIX :login; and IEEE.

I think you reverted by mistake both my additions (which again are mentioned in the USENIX source on page 7) and the citations. I replied in my talk page as well, sorry if I should have had replied only once, and also because I edited this message to clarify the timeline. Thanks. Ikozyris (talk) 21:33, 7 June 2026 (UTC)

Sammy Davis, Sr. ↗

I deprodded this because he had bylined obituaries in two papers of record, in big cities. In other words, professional journalists in major newspapers decided that their readers should know about the life of this person. They got paid by the newspapers, not the family, funeral home, or fans. A newspaper of record ↗ would not publish an obituary about someone unless they were notable; in fact, they are often written years in advance. Bearian (talk) 18:15, 25 June 2026 (UTC)

Edit Warring With Vandals On Their Talk Page

I see that you have repeatedly reverted their acts of Vandalism, which is a good thing. However, there is no reason to repeatedly undo their undos, if you will. Doing this repeatedly will only clog the edit history of the page. Also, if an Admin needs to determine if REVDEL is needed, or if an Oversighter needs to determine if Oversight is needed, the clogging becomes a bigger problem. After one or two, request an Admin to revoke. You already did this. However, to the best of my knowledge, any Admin may do it, not just the Blocking one. Find an Admin, and let them know about the need to TPA revocation. Enćenćecasïdća (talk) 05:42, 10 July 2026 (UTC)

Hello! Thank you for your work with antivandalism :) I wanted to mention that it's usually unhelpful to repeatedly revert vandal edits on their own talk pages.
