I am responsible for most of the original text you kindly went through and corrected thoroughly. As I am not a native user of English, your capabilities as a copy editor is something I envy and admire. Thank you very very much.

I have one question on the edits. In the ''XGE'' signal and Russian surrender ↗ section, "his decision ... was later cleared by British jurists" was corrected to "... later upheld by ..." While 'upheld' is obviously better in legal proceedings, this case was not tried in a British court of law, and I am highly sceptical if it was tried in any court anywhere as this 1894 incident predated Permanent Court of Arbitration ↗ (1899) in Den Haag.

Instead, the opinion of a prominent British jurist supporting the Japanese naval officer's decision was published by an English newspaper (as a signed article if I remember it correctly, addressed to the generally pro-Japanese public), silencing the outraged British ship owner(s).
