Bold colours for the lead column
Hi Nixinova. Thanks for your feedback on the table style change. Is your main concern the use of bold colours in the lead column? I'd be happy to switch to lighter colours if you think that would work better.
That said, I would point out that other countries using MMP systems (or similar systems) also use bold colours for their lead columns; see Opinion polling for the next German federal election ↗ and Opinion polling for the next South Korean legislative election ↗ for reference. Thanks, Clesam11 (talk) 07:38, 15 June 2026 (UTC)
:Yes, that's my main issue, the misleadingness of emphasising the lead in an MMP system. Additionally I also think that generally using the party colours as background shading is over the top as the colours are far too rich for that, thats why we've been using the more pastel colours. Additionally, what other pages do isn't my concern, complete consistency is overrated. Nixinova T ⁄ C ↗ 09:45, 15 June 2026 (UTC)
::I guess there’s nothing wrong with New Zealand taking its own path on Wikipedia. I have nothing against pastel colours anyway, so we’ll leave it as it is for now. I’ll keep the template handy in case we decide to revisit it in the future. Clesam11 (talk) 12:33, 15 June 2026 (UTC)
