25px|alt=Information icon ↗ Thanks for contributing to Wikipedia. However, one of Wikipedia's core policies is that contributions must be verifiable ↗ through reliable sources ↗, preferably using inline citations ↗. Please help by adding more sources to the article you edited, and/or by clarifying how the sources already given support the claims (see here ↗ for how to do inline referencing). If you need further help, you can look at Help:Menu/Editing Wikipedia ↗, or ask at the Teahouse ↗, or just ask me. Thank you. ''':Jay8g''' [<nowiki />VTE ↗<nowiki />] 04:08, 5 November 2024 (UTC)

November 2024

25px|alt=Information icon ↗ Hello, I'm Neveselbert. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, :Alfred Roberts ↗, but you didn't provide a reliable source ↗. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation ↗ and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at referencing for beginners ↗. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. ‑‑Neveselbert (talk · contribs ↗ · email ↗) 18:32, 23 November 2024 (UTC)

Proper citations

Hello, next time you make edits like this ↗, can you add the required information with a source? Do you need help figuring out how to do that? --PerpetuityGrat (talk) 13:40, 26 October 2025 (UTC)

:Hello, thank you for your feedback. If you could help, that would be great, as that was my first time doing a reference edit. Thank you! PoliticsGeek14 (talk) 18:48, 26 October 2025 (UTC)

The Arbitration Committee ↗ is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process ↗. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans ↗, topic bans ↗, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. Disambiguation link notification for November 19

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that you've added some links pointing to disambiguation pages ↗. Such links are usually incorrect ↗, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ{{*}} Join us at the DPL WikiProject ↗.)

::added links pointing to Ministry ↗, Church ↗, Charity ↗ and Devonport Dockyard ↗

25px|alt=Information icon ↗ Hello, I'm TurquoiseGoose. I noticed that you recently removed content ↗ from :2018 Horizon Air Bombardier Q400 incident ↗ without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an accurate edit summary ↗. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the removed content has been restored. If you would like to experiment, please use your sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page ↗. Thanks. TurquoiseGoose (talk) 19:44, 4 May 2026 (UTC)

Avoiding an edit war

25px|alt=Information icon ↗ Hi PoliticsGeek14! I noticed that you've made several edits in order to restore a version of :Alex Cole-Hamilton ↗. The impulse to repeatedly undo an edit you disagree with is understandable, but I wanted to make sure that you're aware of Wikipedia's edit warring policy ↗. Repeatedly undoing the changes made by other users in a back-and-forth fashion like this is disallowed, even if you feel what you're doing is justifiable.

All editors are expected to discuss content disputes on article talk pages ↗ in order to try to reach a consensus ↗ with the other editors involved. If you are unable to come to an agreement at {{TALKPAGENAME:Alex Cole-Hamilton}} ↗, please use one of the dispute resolution options ↗ that are available in order to seek input from others. Using this approach instead of repeatedly reverting other editors' changes can help you avoid getting drawn into edit wars. Thank you. ~ ToBeFree (talk) 21:48, 27 May 2026 (UTC)

Introduction to contentious topics

{{ivmbox | image = Commons-emblem-notice.svg |imagesize=50px | bg = #E5F8FF | text = You have recently edited a page related to ''' living or recently deceased subjects of biographical content on Wikipedia articles''', a topic designated as '''''contentious ↗'''''. This is a brief introduction to contentious topics and does not imply that there are any issues with your editing.

A special set of rules applies to certain topic areas, which are referred to as ''contentious topics''. These are specially designated topics that tend to attract more persistent disruptive editing than the rest of the project and have been designated as contentious topics by the Arbitration Committee ↗. When editing a contentious topic, Wikipedia's norms and policies are more strictly enforced, and Wikipedia administrators ↗ have an expanded level of powers and discretion in order to reduce disruption to the project.

Within contentious topics, editors should edit carefully and constructively, refrain from disrupting the encyclopedia, and:

Editors are advised to err on the side of caution if unsure whether making a particular edit is consistent with these expectations. If you have any questions about contentious topics procedures, you may ask them at the arbitration clerks' noticeboard ↗ or you may learn more about this contentious topic ↗. You may also choose to note which contentious topics you know about by using the {{tl|Ctopics/aware}} template.
}} ~ ToBeFree (talk) 21:48, 27 May 2026 (UTC)
