Proposed deletion ↗ of Morton Povman ↗

left|link=|48px| ↗

The article Morton Povman ↗ has been proposed for deletion ↗ because it appears to have no references. Under Wikipedia policy ↗, this newly created '''biography of a living person ↗''' will be deleted unless it has at least one reference to a reliable source ↗ that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners ↗, or ask at the help desk ↗. Once you have provided at least one reliable source ↗, you may remove the {{tl|prod blp}} tag. '''Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced.''' If you cannot provide such a source within seven days, the article may be deleted, but you can {{#ifexist:Morton Povman|request that it be undeleted|request that it be undeleted ↗}} when you are ready to add one.<!-- Template:ProdwarningBLP --> <span style="color:DarkGray;">...</span> <span style="color:DarkOrange;">'''disco'''</span><span style="color:DarkOliveGreen;">'''''spinster'''''</span> '''<span style="color:DarkGray;">talk</span>''' 01:47, 16 January 2014 (UTC)

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of :Freedom Square, Kew Gardens Hills ↗, and it appears to include material copied directly from http://www.nycgovparks.org/parks/freedom-square-playground/history.

It is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article. The article will be reviewed to determine if there are any copyright issues.

If substantial content is duplicated and it is not public domain ↗ or available under a compatible license, it will be deleted. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material. You may use such publications as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. See our copyright policy ↗ for further details. Ways to improve Frederick B. Robinson (academic)

Hi, I'm Sulfurboy. Queens Historian, thanks for creating Frederick B. Robinson (academic) ↗!

I've just tagged the page, using our page curation ↗ tools, as having some issues to fix. .

The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, you can leave a comment on my talk page. Or, for more editing help, talk to the volunteers at the Teahouse ↗. Sulfurboy (talk) 18:46, 30 July 2015 (UTC)

Speedy deletion ↗ nomination of :Freedom Square, Kew Gardens Hills ↗

48px|left|alt=|link= ↗
{{Quote box|quote=<p>If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article ↗.</p><p>You may want to consider using the Article Wizard ↗ to help you create articles.</p>|width=20%|align=right}}
A tag has been placed on :Freedom Square, Kew Gardens Hills ↗ requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion ↗, because the article or image appears to be a clear copyright ↗ infringement. This article or image appears to be a direct copy from http://www.nycgovparks.org/parks/freedom-square-playground/history. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of ''information'', but not as a source of ''sentences''. This part is crucial: ''say it in your own words''. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators '''will be blocked from editing ↗'''.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you ''must'' verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials ↗. If you are not the owner of the external website or image but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission ↗. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines ↗ for more details, or ask a question here ↗.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may '''contest the nomination''' by visiting the page ↗ and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines ↗. <!-- Template:Db-copyvio-notice -->

Copyright problem: Freedom Square, Kew Gardens Hills

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia ↗! We welcome and appreciate your contributions, such as Freedom Square, Kew Gardens Hills ↗, but we regretfully cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from either web sites or printed material. This article appears to contain material copied from http://www.nycgovparks.org/parks/freedom-square-playground/history, and therefore to constitute a violation of Wikipedia's copyright policies ↗. The copyrighted text has been or will soon be deleted. While we appreciate contributions, we must require all contributors to understand and comply with our copyright policy ↗. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously, and persistent violators are liable to be blocked ↗ from editing.

If you believe that the article is ''not'' a copyright violation, or if you have permission from the copyright holder to release the content freely under license allowed by Wikipedia, then you should do one of the following:

:*If you have permission from the author to release the text under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike License ↗ (CC-BY-SA), leave a message explaining the details at Talk:Freedom Square, Kew Gardens Hills ↗ and send an email with confirmation of permission to "permissions-en (at) wikimedia (dot) org". Make sure you quote the exact page name, '''Freedom Square, Kew Gardens Hills''', in your email. '''See Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission ↗ for instructions.'''
:*If you own the copyright to the material: send an e-mail from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en(at)wikimedia(dot)org ''or'' a postal message to the Wikimedia Foundation ↗ permitting re-use ''under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike License ↗ and GNU Free Documentation License ↗'', and note that you have done so on Talk:Freedom Square, Kew Gardens Hills ↗. '''See Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials ↗ for instructions.'''
:*If a note on the original website states that re-use is permitted "''under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike License ↗ (CC-BY-SA), version 3.0''", or that the material is ''released into the public domain'', or if you have strong reason to believe it is, leave a note at Talk:Freedom Square, Kew Gardens Hills ↗ with a link to where we can find that note or your explanation of why you believe the content is free for reuse.
It may also be necessary for the text be modified to have an encyclopedic tone and to follow Wikipedia article layout ↗. For more information on Wikipedia's policies, see Wikipedia's policies and guidelines ↗.

If you would like to begin working on a new version of the article you may do so at [{{fullurl:Talk:Freedom Square, Kew Gardens Hills/Temp|action=edit&preload=Template:Copyvio/preload}} this temporary page]. Leave a note at Talk:Freedom Square, Kew Gardens Hills ↗ saying you have done so and an administrator will move the new article into place once the issue is resolved.

Thank you, and please feel welcome to continue contributing to Wikipedia. Happy editing!<!-- Template:Nothanks-web -->

Hey Queens Historian, I just wanted to thank you for tracking down opening dates for three New York State Parks over at the list article. Trying to find those dates for all NYSP has been an ongoing project of mine so it was great to see three more added!{{pb}} One small thing to note, is that you marked all of those edits as minor. Per WP:MINOR ↗, minor edits are intended to be just edits that are small formatting changes or typo fixes; actually adding (valuable!) content isn't minor. An, ahem, ''minor'' quibble, I guess, but some people hide minor edits on their watchlist and would miss being able to appreciate such additions. Anyway, thanks again! Positions on Jerusalem ↗

You way wish to reconsider your revert of my edit on Positions on Jerusalem ↗. Under a change ↗ to WP:ARBPIA ↗ enacted by ArbCom in December, you cannot restore the material until there is consensus for its restoration. Please see Template:ArbCom Arab-Israeli enforcement ↗, which appears on Talk:Positions on Jerusalem ↗ and says (in part) "Editors are required to obtain consensus through discussion before restoring a reverted edit."

For what it's worth, I don't believe the article includes any resolutions passed by a single house of the U.S. Congress (or even by both houses of Congress) that were not enacted into law. (Not just the Czech Republic and the U.S., but any country. If it's not law, it doesn't belong in the article.) If I am mistaken, please point it out and I will remove any non-binding "sense of Congress" resolutions as well. —&nbsp;Malik Shabazz&nbsp;Talk/Stalk ↗ 01:58, 30 May 2017 (UTC)

:Malik Shabazz, you have a point. The US Congress' resolutions on Jerusalem carry as much weight as that of the Czech Parliament. NI both cases, the actual position rests with the president. -Queens Historian

# save the page

Also, ''be sure to explain why'' you think the article should be kept in your edit summary or on the article's talk page ↗. If you don't do so, it may be deleted later anyway.

Ways to improve Macri Triangle

Hi, I'm AngusWOOF. Queens Historian, thanks for creating Macri Triangle ↗!

I've just tagged the page, using our page curation ↗ tools, as having some issues to fix. This doesn't show much notability in secondary sources independent of the subject.

The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, you can leave a comment on my talk page. Or, for more editing help, talk to the volunteers at the Teahouse ↗.

Deletion discussion about List of New York City parks relating to Jewish culture ↗

Hello, Queens Historian

Welcome to Wikipedia! I edit here too, under the username Loksmythe and it's nice to meet you :-)

I wanted to let you know that I've started a discussion about whether an article that you created, List of New York City parks relating to Jewish culture ↗, should be deleted. Your comments are welcome at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/List of New York City parks relating to Jewish culture ↗.

You might like to note that such discussions ↗ usually run for seven days and are ''not'' ballot-polls. And, our guide ↗ about effectively contributing to such discussions is worth a read. Last but not least, you are highly encouraged to continue improving the article; just be sure not to remove the tag about the deletion nomination from the top.

If you have any questions, please leave a comment here and prepend it with <code><nowiki>{{Re|</nowiki>Loksmythe<nowiki>}}</nowiki></code>. And, don't forget to sign your reply with <code><nowiki>~~~~</nowiki></code> . Thanks!

Proposed deletion ↗ of Laura Gillen ↗

The article Laura Gillen ↗ has been proposed for deletion ↗ because it appears to have no references. 48px|left|alt=|link= ↗

Hello, Queens Historian. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation ↗ submission or draft ↗ page you started, "Laura Gillen ↗".

In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace ↗, the draft has been nominated for deletion. 25px|alt=Information icon ↗ Hello, I'm Chrisahn. I wanted to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions ↗&#32;to :Gaza genocide ↗ have been undone because they did not appear constructive. ::As I said in my edit summary, I might agree with your positon, but this is article is probably in the top ten of the most contentious, and you need to discuss your suggested changes. It can be a nuisance, but that's life on Wikipedia. — Chrisahn (talk) 20:05, 20 November 2025 (UTC)

30px|alt=Stop icon ↗ Your recent editing history at :Gaza genocide ↗ shows that you are currently engaged in an '''edit war ↗'''. Please ''stop editing the page'' and use the '''talk page ↗''' to work toward creating a version of the page that represents consensus ↗ among the editors involved. Wikipedia provides a page explaining how this is accomplished ↗. If discussions reach an impasse, you can request help at a relevant noticeboard ↗ or seek dispute resolution ↗ such as a third opinion ↗. In some cases, you may wish to request page protection ↗ while a discussion to resolve the dispute is ongoing.

'''If you continue edit warring, you may be blocked from editing ↗ Wikipedia'''&mdash;especially if you violate the three-revert rule ↗, which states that an editor ''must not perform more than three reverts ↗ on a single page within a 24-hour period''. Undoing another editor's work&mdash;whether in whole or in part, or whether it involves the same or different material each time&mdash;counts as a revert. Also, please keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring&mdash;'''even if you do not violate the three-revert rule'''&mdash; if things indicate that you intend to continue reverting content on the page.<!-- Template:uw-3rr --> — '''<i style="color:#8000FF">Czello</i>''' ''(<i style="color:#8000FF">music</i>)'' 20:06, 20 November 2025 (UTC)

I'm not sure anymore if having the block expire automatically after two weeks is a good idea but we'll see. &#126; ToBeFree (talk) 01:02, 21 November 2025 (UTC)
: @Queens Historian: You can still edit Talk:Gaza genocide ↗. You already started a discussion there. Good! Let's keep it going. Getting desired changes into an article like Gaza genocide ↗ can take a long time, but that's how Wikipedia works. In your block appeal, you said your edits were constructive. I agree, but that's not the point. Several others don't agree, so you'll have to try to convince them. You'll have to understand that you can't simply restore such edits before there's a consensus on the talk page. I'm afraid you'll have to get used to that. Otherwise you'll probably be blocked again. — Chrisahn (talk) 02:54, 21 November 2025 (UTC)
::I understand. Thank you! Queens Historian (talk) 13:02, 21 November 2025 (UTC)

Speedy deletion ↗ nomination of :New York City Parks relating to World War One ↗

48px|left|alt=|link= ↗
{{Quote box|quote=<p>If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article ↗.</p><p>You may want to consider using the Article Wizard ↗ to help you create articles.</p>|width=20%|align=right}}
A tag has been placed on :New York City Parks relating to World War One ↗ requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G4 of the criteria for speedy deletion ↗, because the page appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion discussion ↗, such as at Articles for deletion ↗. When a page has substantially identical content to that of a page deleted after a discussion, and any changes in the content do not address the reasons for which the material was previously deleted, it may be deleted at any time.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may '''contest the nomination''' by visiting the page ↗ and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines ↗. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the {{Querylink|Special:Log|qs=type=delete&page=New+York+City+Parks+relating+to+World+War+One|deleting administrator}}, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here ↗. <!-- Template:Db-repost-notice --><!-- Template:Db-csd-notice-custom --> pburka (talk) 14:43, 27 February 2026 (UTC)
