Minor edits and edit summaries

Please take greater care with your edits. If you look at your diff ↗ using Visual Editor, you'll notice that you're not just tweaking formatting - you're moving a figure from one column to another, effectively stating that a fleet of aircraft no longer have Premium Economy and instead have Business Class. That's not a formatting change, that's a content change.

And just because you're making a minor edit doesn't mean you should ignore edit summaries - literally in the section above, you're complaining about another editor not using edit summaries... I suggest you take their lead and use summaries too - even for minor edits. FInally, yet another reminder about WP:BRD ↗ - if your edits are reverted, you should be initiating discussions instead of starting an edit war. <span class="nowrap"><span style="color: RebeccaPurple">Danners430</span> tweaks made ↗</span> 11:18, 20 February 2026 (UTC)

:Ok, I already double checked (triple checked) already and I'm not moving a figure from one column to another. I'm just merging common numbers, which is why it looked like I'm moving a figure. I suggest you check it and compare the diffs again, or you could explain to me more? I don't really understand that part where I'm "stating that a fleet of aircraft no longer have Premium Economy and instead have Business Class". RPC7778 (talk) 11:24, 20 February 2026 (UTC)
:Forgot to add, but I already used the preview in my initial edit. RPC7778 (talk) 11:26, 20 February 2026 (UTC)
::If you look at the diff above, and switch to Visual, you can see 76 crossed out in the Premium Economy column. That's what I'm using here, purely because the source editor is a pain for tables. <span class="nowrap"><span style="color: RebeccaPurple">Danners430</span> tweaks made ↗</span> 11:34, 20 February 2026 (UTC)
:::There wasn't even a 76 in the W column to begin with! It's only 56. The only 76 I'm seeing is in the J column. How about you compare the before ↗ and after ↗?
:::Note: Don't use Visual and just compare the table itself. RPC7778 (talk) 11:43, 20 February 2026 (UTC)
::::I think I've figured it out - it's the visual diff viewer getting confused because one of the cells was blank before your edit. One of these days the visual editor (which that diff view is based on) will be fixed... I'm not holding my breath though. I'll self-rv since that's a pretty obvious case of me being misled by the diff viewer.
::::Can I ask though, please, that you include edit summaries though for all your edits? As an example the only time I don't include a summary is when I'm reverting obvious vandalism. It makes everyone's life easier because we know what your intention was - if I'd known you were merging cells, I probably would have looked at the diff with a slightly more critical eye, and questioned the visual diff viewer. <span class="nowrap"><span style="color: RebeccaPurple">Danners430</span> tweaks made ↗</span> 11:52, 20 February 2026 (UTC)
:::::👍 RPC7778 (talk) 12:19, 20 February 2026 (UTC)
::::::@RPC7778 You're still making a plethora of edits without any summary - for example merging cells in tables... all it takes is "Merge cells". Please include summaries for every edit. <span class="nowrap"><span style="color: RebeccaPurple">Danners430</span> tweaks made ↗</span> 11:47, 19 April 2026 (UTC)
:::::::To be honest, I just believe that edit summaries are less important when I'm doing minor edits. RPC7778 (talk) 12:00, 19 April 2026 (UTC)
::::::::Why? Because other editors don't need to know what it is you're doing? This is a collaborative project, and it's a genuine help to editors to be able to see at a glance what someone is doing in an edit without having to inspect the diff. Why do you think that's not important? <span class="nowrap"><span style="color: RebeccaPurple">Danners430</span> tweaks made ↗</span> 12:02, 19 April 2026 (UTC)
:::::::::Providing edit summaries on minor edits such as fixing typos, sorting orders, grammar, punctation, layout are just too much of a hassle. And since they are also obvious, might as well skip that and simply tag it as minor edit. By the way, merging cells do count as a minor edit. However, if someone where to revert my minor edits, then I would gladly provide an edit summary in my revert. Just to remind you, I've already read WP:SUMEXPLAIN ↗. RPC7778 (talk) 12:18, 19 April 2026 (UTC)
::::::::::So what you're essentially saying is you don't care about other editors and simply see it as too much hassle to help them out by providing a 1-2 word edit summary explaining what you're doing? That may well fit within the letter of the policy, but absolutely flies right in the face of the spirit of a collaborative project... Good to know. <span class="nowrap"><span style="color: RebeccaPurple">Danners430</span> tweaks made ↗</span> 12:20, 19 April 2026 (UTC)

Re: Specific episode credit

While I'm a bit Swiss on that in the long run (though I feel it makes the infobox bigger unneededly, pet peeve), if we're going to go that route might be best if the body of work also states the exact episode (something like first appearing in the episode blah blah blah). I can fix that on my end, but just saying so it minimizes friction elsewhere.

Wonder if we should add that to User:Kung_Fu_Man/InfoboxMOS for instances like that? Kung Fu Man (talk) 07:52, 29 June 2026 (UTC)

:To be honest, a big infobox is also my pet peeve, but I'm just trying to be consistent since I've noticed that most, if not all, articles of characters that have originated in animanga have that specific chapter/episode title in their first appearance. Also, I agree with that too, that it's better to mention the exact chapter/episode in the body. RPC7778 (talk) 08:22, 29 June 2026 (UTC)
