U of T - Statistical Sciences Department

Hi RapidDweller, I’ve prepared an article in my userspaceDoSS ↗ . It includes reliable references and details that demonstrate notability, such as major research achievements and distinguished, award‑winning alumni.
When you have a moment, could you please take a look? If everything appears in line with Wikipedia’s guidelines, I’d appreciate it if you could move it to the main space on my behalf. Since I have a conflict of interest, I’m avoiding making that move myself. Erfan2017 (talk) 13:17, 10 March 2026 (UTC)

:Hi @Erfan2017. Although I'm not qualified to assess the article draft, I can offer suggestions to improve it to fit Wikipedia's quality standards which can be found at WP:MOS ↗. Mainly, I recommend limiting discussion of rankings and academic prestige and keeping it to its dedicated section to avoid academic boosterism ↗.

Edit: I went ahead and made some minor changes. Hopefully this helps!

RapidDweller (talk) 03:15, 12 March 2026 (UTC)
::Thank you very much. Your changes and guidance are very helpful. Erfan2017 (talk) 15:00, 12 March 2026 (UTC)

Oakville GO Station ↗

Hi, thank you for your contributions. I note your recent revert of my edit at this article.

According to my research, GO's station is at 214 Cross Avenue, adjacent to Via's station at 200 Cross Avenue. Google Maps imaging confirms that there are two distinct station buildings here. Am I missing something? 162 etc. (talk) 16:38, 17 March 2026 (UTC)

:Hi there, thank you for reaching out.
:I don't have any source for this other than firsthand experience but the two buildings are generally considered to be part of the same station. GO trains use all platforms, so if anything, its more like an inter-modal hub similar to Union Station ↗ (its article treats it as one station despite having entirely separate concourses for Via Rail and GO). Similar idea with other stations that serve both rail operators.
:I think that the Oakville article should be titled "Oakville station" to remove the confusion because I agree that the way the article is right now is convoluted, namely the way it has a Via infobox style and GO title format. I'm hoping the current discussion to change station article titles can fix that.
:Hope this helps! RapidDweller (talk) 01:19, 18 March 2026 (UTC)
::> ''"I don't have any source for this other than firsthand experience but the two buildings are generally considered to be part of the same station."''
::Wikipedia is based on reliable sources. I do not see any evidence in such sources that this is considered one station. I've restored the edit which correctly labels both stations (Via and GO). 162 etc. (talk) 17:25, 18 March 2026 (UTC)
:::Perhaps separate articles might be appropriate in that case? I'd recommend starting a discussion on the talk page (depending on the outcome of the current one regarding titles, I suppose). RapidDweller (talk) 01:38, 19 March 2026 (UTC)
::::Not necessarily opposed to that, but it would be best discussed at the talk page, yes. 162 etc. (talk) 01:59, 19 March 2026 (UTC)

GO logos at bus terminal infoboxes

Hi, I note your recent edits adding the GO logo to bus terminal infoboxes, citing "consistency".

I suppose this means consistency with GO train stations? I don't think that this is a good argument. It's commonname to call, say, Eglinton GO Station ↗ "Eglinton GO", but I don't see any evidence of, for example, "Union Station Bus Terminal GO". 162 etc. (talk) 20:01, 20 March 2026 (UTC)

:Hi there!
:My edits were to reflect the way GO Transit station signage appears, regardless of whether its a train or bus station.
:I don't agree that the inclusion of the GO Transit logo on signage implies that the word "go" is pronounced with the station name. If station names were pronounced literally based on signage, then Oakville GO would be "GO Oakville", which is not the case. Please see photos below of signage at Oakville followed by examples of bus stations with the same style of signage.

25px|alt=Information icon ↗ Thank you for your contributions ↗ to Wikipedia. Regarding your recent edits to :Centre for Medieval Studies, Toronto ↗ when you modified the page, you introduced {{cl|Unknown parameters|unknown parameters}}. Just because you specify {{para|some_param|{{var|some_variable}}}} does not always mean that variable will display. The {{para|some_param}} must be defined in the template. You can look at the documentation for the template you are using but it is also helpful to use the preview ↗ button before you save your edit; this helps you find any errors you have made and ensure that the values you have added are displaying correctly. Below the edit box is a '''Show preview''' button. Pressing this will show you what the page will look like without actually saving it. It is strongly recommended that you use this before saving. Note I have likely fixed the error by now so check the history ↗ of the page to see how it was fixed. If you have any questions, contact the help desk ↗ for assistance.

Kudos on UTM articles

I'm just going through the WhatLinksHere for Mississauga, to update List of people from Mississauga ↗, and I'm floored by the UTM articles. Bravo! -- Zanimum (talk) 12:42, 17 May 2026 (UTC)

:Thanks I appreciate it! RapidDweller (talk) 21:44, 24 May 2026 (UTC)

UToronto-stub

Hi there! I see that you created UToronto-stub and its category without checking in at the Stub sorting project ↗. Generally a stub type isn't created until there are 60+ articles to qualify for it; UToronto-stub has only 33 articles and could be used as an "upmerged" template until the 60+ threshold is reached, but the category would not be created until then. Also, university stubs are usually sorted by geographic location rather than institution (with a couple of rare exceptions such as Oxford and Cmabridge). '''tl;dr''' If you have a solid reason to create UToronto-stub and its category, please do so at Wikipedia:WikiProject Stub sorting/Proposals ↗; otherwise, I'll post {{cl|University of Toronto stubs}} at CfD ↗ and leave the template as upmerged to {{cl|Canada university stubs}}. '''Her Pegship''' ('''?''') 19:12, 25 May 2026 (UTC)

:Oh I didn't realize that, thanks for letting me know. Making it an upmerged template for now sounds good. RapidDweller (talk) 02:36, 26 May 2026 (UTC)
::Thanks for your speedy reply! '''Her Pegship''' ('''?''') 18:01, 26 May 2026 (UTC)

Daniels Building

Hello. I took care of your request at WP:RM/TR ↗, but just wanted you to know, in case you don't already, that you should be able to do these kinds of moves yourself. As long as there is not more than one edit at the redirect that points back to the article to be moved, any autoconfirmed editor should be able to move the article over the redirect. Station1 (talk) 07:56, 10 July 2026 (UTC)

:I did not know that, thank you! RapidDweller (talk) 17:56, 10 July 2026 (UTC)
