Move Draft:Bigg Boss (Tamil TV series) season 9 ↗ article into mainspace

Hello Ravensfire, Since the show is going to be airing tomorrow onwards. Is it possible to move the article into the mainspace of Wikipedia which will allow other editiors to also contribute to any information regarding the show. Thank you Aishwaryaa1511 (talk) 04:14, 4 October 2025 (UTC)

:Submit the draft for approval after you've added the details from the broadcast, with sources of course. '''<span style="color: darkred;">Ravensfire</span>''' (talk) 14:16, 4 October 2025 (UTC)

:Have a decent article backed by reliable sources that aren't pre-release publicity churnalism. Film release clashes as trivia

I saw your edit on ''Thamma ↗''. While it is valid, I do not think all mentions of film clashes are trivial. This ↗ is proof of that. ''Coolie ↗'' vs ''War 2 ↗'' is worth another mention. Anyway, I have not heard reports of ''Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat ↗'' affecting ''Thamma''{{'s}} performance (maybe it's the opposite), so I guess it's best left out. <span style="white-space:nowrap;font-family: Papyrus"><b style="color: black;">Kailash29792</b> <span style="color: black;">(talk)</span> </span> 01:42, 28 October 2025 (UTC)

:That's the key point - when reliable sources cover it because it affects performance of one film over the other, THEN it's relevant and useful to include. To just say "Oh, it's released the same day as XYZ and PDQ" is editor-selected trivia. '''<span style="color: darkred;">Ravensfire</span>''' (talk) 02:12, 28 October 2025 (UTC)

Sockpuppets

Hello admin, i want to report about sock puppetry. After user @GhoshThakur was blocked he created another sock account @Neutralwikipedian that was also blocked but now he has created two more sock accounts: @Asyoukniwand @Johndmafia. I request you to conduct a UC and block these socks too as there are creating trouble on various articles. 2409:40D0:2014:F75C:B063:8F22:A14:A1A6 ↗ (talk) 06:48, 2 November 2025 (UTC)

:Unfortunately, I'm not an admin here and really don't have any interest. The right place for this would be to create a report at Wikipedia:Sockpuppet_investigations/GhoshThakur ↗. You'll need to include WP:DIFFS ↗ that show similar edits as previous socks, checkusers don't do the legwork based on speculation and belief - you need to show them the evidence. Have a look

Have a look at these edits ↗. A lot of similar additions lately by multiple users trying to game the system. I've raised the issue here ↗ at WP:INB. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 20:39, 4 February 2026 (UTC)

::@Fylindfotberserk interesting, this seems to be used with some frequency on Bangledesh related articles - see https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?sort=last_edit_desc&search=insource%3A%22%7B%7Befn%7C%7B%7Blangx%7Cbn%22&title=Special%3ASearch&profile=advanced&fulltext=1&ns0=1 ↗ - an insource search I threw together. :::::@Fylindfotberserk, I would start the SPI to establish that they are evading their block. Hello, I am writing this to clarify that I am a new user and I have no connection with the user "Deepcruze" or any other blocked account. My recent edits were reverted by mistake under the assumption that I am a "sockpuppet," but I assure you that I am a genuine new contributor trying to learn how Wikipedia works.

It is very discouraging to be labeled like this when I am just starting out. If my editing style or IP matched someone else's, it is purely a coincidence. Kindly guide me on how to clear this misunderstanding so I can continue to contribute properly. JagdeepXC (talk) 04:48, 5 February 2026 (UTC)

G.Edward Griffin

Here is a quotation from Pranksters:making mischief in the modern world:
"Paul's endorsement of G. Edward Griffin's The Creature from Jekyll Island: A Second Look at the Federal Reserve–along with several other positions he holds–has made him an icon for New World Order conspiracy theorists. Griffin's book is laced with standard-issue references to the Council on Foreign Relations, W. Cleon Skousen, Carroll Quigley, the Rothschild family, and the Bavarian Illuminati (a branch of which, the author suggests, played a role in assassinating Abraham Lincoln). Griffin was also a longtime affiliate of the John Birch Society, which published several of his nutty books. In Paul's blurb for The Creature from Jekyll Island, he calls it "a superb analysis deserving serious attention by all Americans. Be prepared for one heck of a journey through time and mind." It sure is. The congressman is a principled libertarian conservative whose positions on civil liberties, the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, and the legalization of drugs overlap with those of many people on the left. He is a learned man and not a nut. However, when this congressman appears on Alex Jones's show, endorses Bircher books about a Federal Reserve conspiracy, and warns of nonexistent plans for a NAFTA Superhighway, it shows how the fringe ideas discussed throughout this book have infiltrated substantial parts of the political mainstream."
A
s you can see there is nothing here which cites any evidence which disproves Griffin's ideas. It just calls it "nutty". Do you have any other quotes from this book to disprove his theories regarding the federal reserve? If not then either find a better source or stop reverting my edits to the preamble of G.Edward Griffin's page.

As you said on the edit history I have looked through the talk page and there are multiple people who have criticised this source yet everyone who is in favour of using this source simply runs away or just blindly asserts it as an authority despite the valid criticisms of it.

Please provide another quote or source or I will reinstate my edit. King of Crimson (talk) 17:35, 15 February 2026 (UTC)

creation of Balaji Murugadoss (actor) ↗

Dear Ravensfire, I have re created the article since it was deleted a few years ago due to the lack of notability and references. However coming to the present i have found that the individual has acted in a few films in crucial roles and won a reality show too more or less a notable one too. I don't understand why it is nominated for deletion. Nicolien.Swart (talk) 05:27, 18 February 2026 (UTC)

:The article was deleted a few years ago, so the notability is absolutely in question. Winning a show is not by itself enough to show notability on Wikipedia. WP:NACTOR ↗ is the criteria needed. In addition, as you found out, the page title without the (actor) disambiguation is protected from being used as an article because it was recreated disruptively so many times. Relax, be patient, have those good sources (not interviews, not churnalism, not paid/sponsored articles) that show how NACTOR is met. Worst case, go through the draft process where an AFC reviewer can evaluate the article. Above all, don't be disruptive, don't use temp accounts, don't use multiple accounts. All of that puts you, and the article, in a bad light. '''<span style="color: darkred;">Ravensfire</span>''' (talk) 13:47, 18 February 2026 (UTC)

Discrepancy in the List of highest grossing Indian films

Hi, Could you kindly take a look into the current revision of the aforementioned page ↗ as there are definitely some discrepancies in the box office figures of the Top 50, mainly introduced by the user @Karonabhai

Hello {{BASEPAGENAME}},

thumb|400px|New Page Review queue November 2025 - May 2026 ↗

'''Backlog update'''

At the time of this message, there are 15,282 articles and 32,951 redirects awaiting review.

After the January–February drive the article backlog was reduced to 15,179 articles and the redirect backlog to 19,053 respectively. Great job! However, both queues are growing rapidly and any additional reviews are highly appreciated.

'''2024 and 2025 NPP Awards'''

74px|left ↗{{no ping|JTtheOG}} was selected as the NPP reviewer of the year for both 2024 and 2025, for reviewing the most articles amongst all reviewers.
{{no ping|Hey man im josh}} and {{no ping|MPGuy2824}} won the Redirect Ninja Master Award for 2024 and 2025 respectively, for reviewing the most redirects.

Overall in 2024, one Platinum, two Gold, eight Silver, 12 Bronze and 45 Iron Barnstars were awarded. Additionally, 66 reviewers got the NPP barnstar for doing more than 100 reviews through the year. In 2025, one Platinum, ten Silver, 13 Bronze and 38 Iron Barnstars were awarded. Additionally, 38 reviewers got the NPP barnstar for doing more than 100 reviews through the year.

{{no ping|BoyTheKingCanDance}}, {{no ping|Rosiestep}}, {{no ping|SunDawn}}, and {{no ping|Vanderwaalforces}} were inducted into the NPP Hall of Fame ↗ for having two separate years of 2,000+ article reviews.

'''January–February backlog drive'''

The experimental two-month long backlog drive concluded with 183 reviewers patrolling over 27,761 articles and 35,309 redirects, earning over 36,836 points. Congratulations to {{no ping|JTtheOG}}, who achieved first place with 6,484.6 points in this drive.

'''May backlog drive'''

An article-only backlog drive is currently underway. We are hoping to make a big dent in the backlog. You can read more about it or join at Wikipedia:New pages patrol/Backlog drives/May 2026 ↗.

'''PageTriage'''

An attempt was made to get the New Pages Feed ↗ to sort by date marked as reviewed instead of date created. However we had to revert it due to bugs. We may try again in the future. You can subscribe to the Phabricator ticket ↗ if you're interested in following along.

You may be eligible to vote in the current U4C election, which is open now and closes on 2 June 2026. Sorry for going a little too far on Akshay Kumars Filmfare Award nominations but it’s true he was nominated for best Actor for Sarfira, so I put that back on the page which you editited, he’s the source.

Mumtaz, Zeenat and Katrina introductions.

hi

apologies for my bluffed introductions, ive corrected and made them more neutral.I've avoided using promotional adjectives and exaggerated nuances. However, im unaware what's going wrong with the Mumtaz introductions. I had kept it neutral, and it's true she did b grade films and formed a popular pairing with Rajesh Khanna and dharmendra. although she was the highest paid actress of her time, I couldn't find a credible source for that.

Also, is the zeenat and Katrina's intros better?

I found their previous introductions extremely hollow and under representing.

Celebrity photographs

hey,

ive been doing research and writing pages of last century Indian actors. Am I suppose to add their latest picture or the picture of their prime, from when they were active in their career. I think it would depend like the young face of Mala Sinha would be more recognisable than her latest picture since she has been inactive since so long, but Rekha's latest picture would be more recognisable since she's more active?please guide me through

thank you PratyakshAzad (talk) 16:23, 5 June 2026 (UTC)

:First and foremost, when we're talking about an image of a living person, it must be a freely licensed image - see Wikipedia:Image use policy ↗. Non-free images (which is just about everything you'd find online) are generally WP:NFCI ↗ not permitted on Wikipedia as a free equivalent could be found (someone takes a picture with their camera and uploads it to Commons). Generally, images for the infobox on biography should be a recent image - what would the person look like now? A few years different is one thing, 10+ is something different. So with multiple options for the infobox, the more recent is generally preferred. A few older images can be put inline in the body of the article to highlight different looks in their career - Wikipedia:Manual of Style/Images ↗. Those still need to meet the image use policy though. Are there exceptions to this - of course! But you need to seek consensus on the article talk page and/or the India Cinema Task Force ↗ for something like that. Are the following sources reliable?

these haven't been listed as sources in the wikipedia page and I was wondering if these could be reliable

business standard, Box office India, Daily, Mint, Deccan Herald PratyakshAzad (talk) 16:06, 11 June 2026 (UTC)

:BOI is generally considered good, just remember to say only want the source says and for more judgement type information attribute the claim. For the others, look at the WT:ICTF ↗ archives (do a search on the Search Archives box with the domain name). Also read WP:NEWSORGINDIA ↗, you do need to be very careful with Indian news sources, especially around film/television related articles unfortunately. Lots of churnalism ↗ and Paid news in India ↗.
