Question from Maneuverpedia (02:48, 7 June 2026)

how do i create citation? --Maneuverpedia (talk) 02:48, 7 June 2026 (UTC)

:Hi @Maneuverpedia! To create a citation you can either manually input the parameters of <nowiki><ref></ref></nowiki>, or for an easier experience, you can select the "Cite" tab while editing, select "Templates" and from that drop-down, select the type of source you are trying to cite, and from that input the parameters that you can in the fields that it provides. Hey ,I have a question. I trace those rare Roots Reggae musicians who didn't make it to the mainstream media and obtain their biography and discography. Now I wanted to add those informations to be on Wikipedia. How do I go about it --Mikey Dreadd (talk) 10:25, 9 June 2026 (UTC)

:If you are trying to create an article, you can go through this form ↗, where you can create a draft and get it reviewed for addition to Wikipedia. Please keep in mind to follow notability standards ↗. Sailing427alt (talk) 12:58, 9 June 2026 (UTC)

Question from Gudgeon608 on Canopus Foundation ↗ (04:41, 11 June 2026)

I made the piece as neutral as I Coulter but I cannot Publish it. Any ideas? Thanks --Gudgeon608 (talk) 04:41, 11 June 2026 (UTC)

:Hi and welcome to Wikipedia! I'm not entirely sure what you are talking about, as the article you linked both already exists and has not received any edits from you. If you are talking about publishing an edit, did you remember to complete a captcha? Sailing427alt (talk) 12:52, 11 June 2026 (UTC)
::You could be right about the captcha...I didn't see one on my tablet. Thanks. &#126;2026-34542-65 ↗ (talk) 21:06, 11 June 2026 (UTC)
:::Of course :) Sailing427alt (talk) 00:42, 12 June 2026 (UTC)

Question from Velisona (12:48, 15 June 2026)

Hello mentor! I just wanted to know how to add anchor text on a hyperlink, and where to find reliable sources. Using the anchor text template from wikipedia doesnt really work for me. Thank you! --Velisona (talk) 12:48, 15 June 2026 (UTC)

:Hello! Reliable sources can easily be found through a google search. When choosing a source, .gov, .edu and encyclopedia websites(like Brittanica) are preferred, but most websites suffice. Avoid satirical websites like The Onion. On the anchor text, you can use the {{Anchor ↗}} template, or you can use <code><nowiki><span class="anchor" id="Anchor name">...</span></nowiki></code> See this page ↗ for more specific help with anchors. Let me know if you need more help :) Sailing427alt (talk) 12:37, 18 June 2026 (UTC)

Question from HIddenMargin (14:43, 19 June 2026)

Hi, new here!
How many citations should I be adding when making an addition to a page? As many as possible, I have noticed that some seem redundant. --HIddenMargin (talk) 14:43, 19 June 2026 (UTC)

:It depends. If you are making a major edit, use as many as necessary. Typically one citation or re-mention of citation is enough per paragraph; a small article should likely have 5-10 good citations. Let me know if you need more help! Sailing427alt (talk) 02:46, 20 June 2026 (UTC)

Question from Snorlaxsnoring (18:39, 19 June 2026)

what are the best places to source information from? --Snorlaxsnoring (talk) 18:39, 19 June 2026 (UTC)

:The best places to source information from are non-ai websites that are not satirical in nature and do not appear to be heavily biased(though there are exceptions to this). It is preferable to cite websites that end in .gov and .edu, encyclopedias(like Britannica), or especially if dealing with medical articles, papers(through a repository like pubmed). See this page ↗ for more details. Sailing427alt (talk) 02:53, 20 June 2026 (UTC)

Question from Akib Ahmed Chowdhury on Draft:Kodala High School ↗ (20:32, 23 June 2026)

:''Note: Akib Ahmed Chowdhury's mentor HarvardJock is away.''
How should i improve... What was the actual problem? --Akib Ahmed Chowdhury (talk) 20:32, 23 June 2026 (UTC)

:The problem is that you do not have enough sources, especially reliable ones. You do have a good start, but I would try to get at least <u>2</u> more sources. Sailing427alt (talk) 11:37, 24 June 2026 (UTC)

Question from Dave7272 (02:52, 24 June 2026)

Hey! Thanks for being willing to help, I am trying to post a new topic: https://w.wiki/RgXU
It got rejected for now, not sure how to improve it. Thoughts? --Dave7272 (talk) 02:52, 24 June 2026 (UTC)

:I would try to improve it by using more independent(not affiliated) secondary(not primary) sources. I would also try to use the proper format ↗. It seems like a lot of your sources are somewhat affiliated with the given topic. Sailing427alt (talk) 11:45, 24 June 2026 (UTC)

Question from Evbacher (19:09, 25 June 2026)

Hi, I just made my first edit (from the list of suggestions). I tried to simplify the sentence and remove some vague description. Diff here: https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=JJ_Giltinan_International_Trophy&diff=prev&oldid=1361116157

Let me know if that seems reasonable.

Looking forward to helping out occasionally.

Thanks,

Question from TeriGibson on Help:Log ↗ (17:19, 30 June 2026)

I created an article in the sandbox and now I can't find it. I clicked the review button and was taken to another page.

Title of the article: Teri C. Gibson --TeriGibson (talk) 17:19, 30 June 2026 (UTC)

:I have a strong feeling this article was deleted as your username and the article are nearly if not fully identical. If you are trying to write an article about yourself, please don't. Sailing427alt (talk) 22:22, 5 July 2026 (UTC)

Question from HIddenMargin (talk) 17:33, 30 June 2026 (UTC)

Hi, I’ve come across quite a few Wiki articles that were created a while ago and haven’t been updated in some time, so they’re missing key details or could use expansion.
What’s the best way to expand these kinds of pages? For example: adding new sections like “Early Life”, “Career”, Any advice or good example pages you can point me to would be really helpful. Is it a good idea to start a talk page post about the edits I make? I am trying to wrap my head around the additions process.
Thanks! HIddenMargin (talk) 17:33, 30 June 2026 (UTC)

:Definitely, expanding articles is a great idea, as is creating talk page posts, just make sure to properly cite your edits and not create unnecessary talk page posts. A good rule of thumb is that if the edit might be reverted or thought of as controversial it is a good idea to put something about the edit on the talk page. Sailing427alt (talk) 22:25, 5 July 2026 (UTC)
::I appreciate the response! Is it a good idea to make a "Ongoing Contributions" talk post on articles I follow and help expand. I have found that expanding pages is a considerable task! Some of the edits happen days apart as I sort reliable, legitimate sources. HIddenMargin (talk) 18:41, 7 July 2026 (UTC)
