Dear SajoR,

Thank you for your desire to contribute in the article about the biography of His Excellency Jean-Marie Speich, by replacing the original version of his coat of arms with your artwork.

I regret to inform you that His Excellency Archbishop Jean-Marie Speich contacted me, and expressed his objection. In the first place, the Archbishop does not wish to include a motto in his coat of arms, in accordance with the tradition of Europe's old nobility, to which Mons. Speich belongs. Second, the coat of arms, which I originally used in his biography, was personally sent to me by His Excellency for use in the Wikipedia article on his biography, which I proposed to create for him. The Archbishop prefers original version used in the article.

I encountered your coat of arms work at Robert Finn (bishop) ↗ and have been pursuing an incremental contribution re: the untranslated Latin motto in the COA for a while in that regard. Today I've sort of finished my efforts but come then to query the acronym "SVG" in many of your edit summaries. In short, is SVG 'Scalable Vector Graphics ↗', some other phrase covered here ↗ (I don't think so) or another phrase altogether? (Further from that, if it ''is'' SVGraphics I'd be curious how it fits into your edit summary explicitly. What does it mean there?) My exploration of 'bishopstyles' and motto-translation ended here, today ↗. You can trace it further back here at Special:Contributions/Swliv ↗ pretty easily (albeit in English) if you'd like.

I have to admit your appearance with a 'fancy-look' COA at Finn just after the bishop made the news for a child-sex-abuse story raised my rather acute(ly sensitized) antennae/hackles. I 'attacked' it where/how I could -- the introduction of untranslated Latin into an English-language encyclopedia; in an infobox 'bishopstyles' which resisted all my efforts (to the present) to add the motto translation; my wariness, to put it mildly, rising with all the built-in resistance to my editing effort. I ''still'' .... Well, let's say, I'm wary ''still'' about coming here to you directly (and seeing you as a non-English speaker identifying prominently as Roman Catholic of course doesn't help; though I now see your appearance at Finn as probably coincidental to mine there). We'll see how Google Translate ↗ does for ''us'', eh? Cheers.

CBCEW Coat of Arms



Although the file you uploaded of the CBCEW coat of arms is of a higher image quality. After all, it is an SVG file. However, the one that was already on those templates that you reverted is the most up to date. En la pagina List of Catholic bishops of the United States ↗, hay 4 obispos que no tienen el escudo de la Diócesis con sus escudo personal. Ellos son:


Si los otros obispos tiene el escudo del la Diócesis, ellos deverian tenerlo tambien? No se si esto es la practica.

Mande un correo electrónico a los directores de comunicación de los Diócesis para ver si ellos me pueden mandar una copia de los escudos. Tambien, hay unos nuevo obispos que necesitan escudos. Ellos son:


Ademas, he añadido los escudos de San Juan ↗, Arecibo ↗, Caguas ↗, Fajardo-Humacao ↗, Mayaguez ↗ y Ponce ↗ de las Arquidiócesis de San Juan, Puerto Rico a sus paginas. Mi contacto en el Arquidiócesis no has mandado los permisos a Wikipedia y no se cuando Wikipedia los vas a borrar de los paginas. Si ella no lo manda a tiempo, puede ser una copia de ellos? {{done}}
