Talk page reverts

Hi there, I'm not sure why you reverted this edit ↗? It's a pretty innocent talk page request, even though it isn't very useful. In solidarity ↗, asilvering (talk) 20:39, 23 June 2026 (UTC)
:Ok but taken with a number of other un-useful edits it seemed rather disruptive, I will try harder to assume good faith ↗. Theroadislong (talk) 20:42, 23 June 2026 (UTC)
::I don't disagree with your assessment of the situation, just the action that followed. :) In solidarity ↗, asilvering (talk) 23:51, 23 June 2026 (UTC)

Revisit an article

Hey Theroadislong!

A few months ago, I submitted an article that was autobiographic. I thought I did it the right way, disclosing the COI. You reviewed it and thought the article was not ready.

So I have spend a few months studying and working on it. I think it is close. I was hoping you might do me the favor of relooking at it, and giving me some feedback.

Here is the link: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Dave_Koch

Thanks so much!

Dave OtherBrotherDave (talk) 04:19, 24 June 2026 (UTC)

Warren Leming Article Submission

Hi Theroadislong,

I've resubmitted the article with 2 additional references from interviews with Leming from Studs Terkel on WFMT and Dave Hoestra from WGN Radio. Both noted Chicago journalists associated with primary Chicago media sources. Also, please note the Chicago Reader interview by Jeff Huebner, also a respected Chicago journalist who wrote several articles for the magazine back in the 90s.

Also, I want to point out this editor's (TokyoGirl79) comments from the Wilderness Road article:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:Wilderness_Road_(band):
Notability

I've done some substantial editing to the page and I think that there is enough notability here to warrant it being included. I was lucky in that the fansite has scans of most of the coverage the band received back in the 70s, along with the headline and date for most of the entries. There is more on the site, but I figured I'd just take the basics and include it here. I'm normally loathe to take things from fan pages, but these scans are pretty thorough in how they're done and archived on the site, so they are usable as far as I can tell. If deletion is to be done, I'd prefer it be through AfD. I'm also going to try to make a page for Leming, since he seems to be notable independently from the band as well. Tokyogirl79 (。◕‿◕。) 13:01, 7 September 2014 (UTC) Blottski (talk) 01:03, 25 June 2026 (UTC)

:I'm afraid interviews are not independent sources so are useless for establishing notability ↗. Theroadislong (talk) 06:33, 25 June 2026 (UTC)

Draft:Simon Roszak

Thank you for your comments on my article--Draft:Simon Roszak. It would be extremely helpful if you would please provide me with some examples of the items in that article that require further citation.

Much appreciated,

Figshare Not GNG?

If figshare is not considered GNG, then what is? Or does everyone who posts here have to be a two time Nobel winner to get anything done?

If that's not good enough, how about the fact that I am personally invited to the CLC? Thermodynamic physicists are not good enough?

If you're setting the bar this high, then NO ONE can pass it. Period. JustMichael80 (talk) 19:42, 29 June 2026 (UTC)

:{{tps}} After some discussion ↗, I did move it back, tag it ↗, and rework it ↗. Just a courtesy note because I know you moved it originally. Bobby Cohn 🍁 (talk) 21:05, 29 June 2026 (UTC)
:Your content provides zero indication that Figshare is in anyway shape or form notable ↗ in Wikipedia terms. We require significant coverage in reliable independent published sources. Theroadislong (talk) 21:09, 29 June 2026 (UTC)
::And just how does one go about doing that without bribing college officials into giving them a citation for submitting to arXiv? Figshare is about as good as it gets--Zenodo and others are just downstream lesser quality versions thereof. As I mentioned, I'm willing to send whoever I need to copies of the letter from the Université Paris or the invitation from Dr. Umit Gunes himself. We can't use LinkedIn because that's just a social media site no matter how loudly they claim otherwise, and others are just as problematic. I've asked Sabine Hossenfelder for a citation, but I supposed I could possibly get one from Voss or Shevlin. Not sure what else I can do to validate notability in WP terms. JustMichael80 (talk) 21:19, 29 June 2026 (UTC)
:::You have clearly misunderstood how Wikipedia works. Wikipedia is only interested in what people who have no connection with the subject, and who have not been prompted or fed information on behalf of the subject, have chosen to publish about the subject in reliable published sources ↗. If those sources don't exist then we can't have an article on the subject. Theroadislong (talk) 21:24, 29 June 2026 (UTC)
::::I was mistaken about wanting to write an article about my startup--not really what I am aiming for. The PPS, however? That deserves an article because it's pure mathematics and thermodynamics. Yes, it's awaiting peer review. No, it hasn't been cited yet. Yes, I have a working model demonstrating the physics that has been rigorously vetted.
::::Constructal law has found its precondition. If that's not worthy of an article, I don't know what is.
::::You don't want me to write it? That's fine--I'm happy to follow ToS and come back after the conference in October and ask for another editor to give it a go. I'm not into stroking my own ego because I killed it years ago. If I have to lie about something to get others hyped, it's not worth it. I'm only interested in bare bones objective Truth. Nothing less will do. JustMichael80 (talk) 21:32, 29 June 2026 (UTC)
:::::I have no idea what "PPS" is and I'm afraid you will find that Wikipedia has no interest in your "bare bones objective Truth". Theroadislong (talk) 05:03, 30 June 2026 (UTC)
::::::Screen capped. Wikipedia isn't interested in objective truth. Got it. JustMichael80 (talk) 21:22, 30 June 2026 (UTC)
:::::::See Wikipedia:Verifiability, not truth ↗. Theroadislong (talk) 21:25, 30 June 2026 (UTC)

About tagging G12

When doing tagging as such, as you tagged the Sandbox of GlammySammy, please also notify the User of Wikipedia's Copyright policy. This is also mentioned in the G12 itself. Thanks Enćenćecasïdća (talk) 19:58, 1 July 2026 (UTC)

Draft:USPS Postal Cities

Resubmitted with separate external links and references sections Block411 (talk) 21:07, 4 July 2026 (UTC)

Draft: Do Duniya Ek Dil

Hello. I've read your feedback regarding the decline of the draft. But I'm not not here to justify it.you're a senior editor and I respect that.
Times of India ↗ is the most trusted article in India and used in every ITV ↗ article, as far as I know.
If you don't mind, why don't you have a look at it?
Should I re-submit it or?let me know.Thank you. Rudrobio (talk) 11:29, 5 July 2026 (UTC)

:See WP:TIMESOFINDIA ↗ for why we don't use it. Theroadislong (talk) 12:06, 5 July 2026 (UTC)
::Yeah.I see. Half of them voted for additional considerations. So there are no big news company like Times Of India. So,what can I do? Also Editors from India accept it as reliable. This is so confusing. Rudrobio (talk) 12:23, 5 July 2026 (UTC)
:::This is the English Wikipedia, nobody here accepts The Times of India as reliable. Theroadislong (talk) 12:27, 5 July 2026 (UTC)
::::There's nothing I can do. That's the maximum reliable (or so called) sources
::::I can add and there is nothing left. Note that the draft contains citations from other news companies as well.so sad to see all of my efforts have gone in vein. Rudrobio (talk) 13:07, 5 July 2026 (UTC)

Your comment on my article

hi @Theroadislong, i want to ask why you left these comments on my article:

I understand constructive feedback but these comments are a bit rude. I am a Wikipedia beginner and I am trying hard to make my articles and I have only sourced these from real websites, not AI and LLMs. I really did want to make a good draft of these things, and I understand failing at it first try, but these comments did sting.

with all respect, lets all be nice to Wiki users!

sincerely, @Apolhead.22. Apolhead.22 (talk) 16:30, 5 July 2026 (UTC)

:Your draft Draft:2026 Europe Heatwave ↗ duplicates an article we already have here 2026 European heatwaves ↗ you can add referenced content to that one. Please read WP:YFA ↗ you are diving in with the most difficult task of all here, creating an article; there was nothing rude about any of my comments. Theroadislong (talk) 16:36, 5 July 2026 (UTC)

COI tag?

I don't understand the basis for adding a conflict of interest tag. Could you please explain what evidence suggests that I have a conflict of interest with this article? Simply disagreeing with edits or participating in discussions does not by itself, establish a conflict of interest. If there are specific concerns, please point them out so they can be discussed. BriefLaw (talk) 09:05, 6 July 2026 (UTC)

:Sorry it was your username that seemed to indicate a conflict plus bypassing the WP:AFC ↗ process. Theroadislong (talk) 09:07, 6 July 2026 (UTC)
::I've already mentioned on my user page that I'm a law student, which is why most of my editing is related to law topics. My username isn't connected to this article or its subject. Regarding the draft, it had been waiting for quite some time without being accepted or declined through AFC. I thought it would be reasonable to move it to mainspace so that editors familiar with the topic could evaluate it. If experienced editors determine that it does not meet Wikipedia's standards, I have no objection to it being moved back to draft or otherwise handled through the normal editorial process. BriefLaw (talk) 09:11, 6 July 2026 (UTC)

Draft: Casper Canada

Hi there,

I'm a new editor on here, so bare with me if this isn't the right format or channel, but I just had some questions about my submission on Casper Canada. I did indeed issue a disclosure on my page with my affiliations as a paid editor. So I'm just wondering if that was the major issue, or moreso the notability factor. I did read through the resources you sent which I appreciate. I just wanted to get a better sense of it's an overall notability issue or the specifics of my citations and sources. I will, however, go through and adjust the language so it is more neutral.

Thanks! Mavenwriter (talk) 20:00, 6 July 2026 (UTC)

Draft Updated Following Your Suggestions - Request for Review

Hello @Theroadislong,

Thank you for taking the time to review my draft and for your helpful comments. I have now made the changes you suggested, including removing the honorific "Dr." from the title, removing unnecessary bold formatting, correcting the formatting issues, and ensuring references are not placed in section headings.

I would be grateful if you could take another look at the draft when you have time and let me know if there are any further improvements needed, particularly regarding notability and sourcing.

Thank you again for your guidance and assistance.

Best regards,

Syedhashimpak Syedhashimpak (talk) 17:07, 8 July 2026 (UTC)
