Succession boxes

{{archivetop}}
Hello,

The succession boxes I placed on the World Cup of Hockey articles and 4 Nations Face-Off articles are not a personal POV. They were based on this article ↗. I have changed the title however, to be more clear that it's tournaments with full NHL inclusion, rather than "best-on-best" as I can see why that term may appear to be more of a POV. <b style="color: #B02E26">Red</b><b style="color: #3B7FCA">Blue</b><b style="color: #69C05D">Green</b><b style="color: #000000">93</b> 23:43, 5 March 2026 (UTC)

:Other editor also reverted your addition. Therefore, you should gain consensus for proposed changes per WP:BRD ↗. – sbaio 04:33, 7 March 2026 (UTC)

"previous incarnation"

{{archivetop}}
I am confused, can you explain what you mean is "historically inaccurate" about this wording in reference to the Utah Mammoth ↗ and Arizona Coyotes ↗? '''<small>mftp</small> <span class="smallcaps" style="font-variant:small-caps;">dan</span>''' oops 18:45, 4 May 2026 (UTC)

:{{reply|MFTP Dan}} Utah Mammoth is not a relocation of Arizona Coyotes (same situation like Baltimore Ravens and Cleveland Browns). NHL has said that more than once and it was thoroughly discussed at WT:NHL and other places. Meanwhile, your statement says exactly the opposite to what NHL has stated. – sbaio 14:54, 5 May 2026 (UTC)
::I understand as much as the relocation semantics. What I don't understand is how that wording implies there's a relocation. That wasn't my intention. What could I do to bypass it with brevity appropriate for the lead of Keller's article? Clearly there is a relationship between the two. Sortable Tables on NHL pages question

{{archivetop}}
re: this revert ↗ on NHL conference finals ↗.
<blockquote>''we avoid using <nowiki>[class="wikitable sortable"]</nowiki> in NHL pages''</blockquote>

I checked WP:HOCKEY ↗ and Wikipedia:WikiProject Ice Hockey/Structure ↗ and didn't see any article style guidelines about sorting. Was WP:BOLD ↗ and added it as it seems helpful for a user who would be looking to find the minimum and maximum values in each column. Is there a technical or other issue with WP:SORT ↗ on hockey specific articles? Thanks.

:I am not sure why, but WP:NHL avoids using sortable option in tables about titles. I think it is best to ask about it at WikiProject's talk page. – sbaio 19:51, 26 May 2026 (UTC)

Khoa41860 returning?

Hey there, I've noticed an uptick in some rivalry edits and this feels like Khoa41860 has returned: https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Devils%E2%80%93Rangers_rivalry&diff=1361449129&oldid=1349755093 ↗ what do you think? Conyo14 (talk) 01:10, 28 June 2026 (UTC)
:{{reply|Conyo14}} It is Khoa41860, because IP location points to Houston area, which is that editor's usual location. – sbaio 16:28, 29 June 2026 (UTC)

Knicks Celtics Lakers discrepancy MOS

{{archivetop}}
Hi, I seen your recent reverts... while I have no problem with the reverts per say, I noticed that the New York Knicks#Basketball Hall of Famers ↗ actually splits its Hall of Famers into separate tables for players, coaches, and contributors. Wouldn't it be better align with MOS guidelines that there's consistency between teams (Knicks & Celtics tables for example) like the way I have it here: the middle version in my sandbox ↗.
Do you have any objections if I implement that middle version instead? Let me know what you think!—JoeJohnson2 (talk) 08:39, 8 July 2026 (UTC)
:{{reply|JoeJohnson2}} All tables should look like to what I restored on Knicks' page, because that version is MOS compliant. – sbaio 08:41, 8 July 2026 (UTC)
::Interesting. So that should apply with every team if that's the case. I might go ahead and do that (especially the 3 East and 3 West teams I previously worked on) later on.—JoeJohnson2 (talk) 08:46, 8 July 2026 (UTC)
:::{{reply|JoeJohnson2}} Editor who made the change according to MOS just never finished implementing it for all teams. But not everything has to be in tables and that is where MOS:NO-TABLES ↗ comes into play. Knicks, Lakers, Celtics and Warriors tables for hall of famers are rather huge so it should be converted into lists (that would have to be done for all NBA teams to have consistency). However, I am not going to try and reach consensus at WT:NBA ↗ or makes the changes, because I simply do not have time. – sbaio 09:08, 9 July 2026 (UTC)
::::I'll just leave it as is then, no problem. Thanks for the info.—JoeJohnson2 (talk) 09:11, 9 July 2026 (UTC)

Do not add socks to existing SPI reports

{{archivetop}}
Especially when they are not marked as "New" or "Open". File a new report instead. This is a violation of WP:TPO ↗, as you are altering another editor's signed comment. It is also disruptive to the SPI process.
