Backup

Hi, make backups of the monster list. With in essence one contributor (=you) based on an uncommon interpretation of "what wikipedia is not" anybody else suggesting a "speedy deletion" has a high success chance, and then your work would be not more visible for non-admins. &ndash;Be..anyone (talk) 03:02, 20 April 2015 (UTC)

::I'm one of the "keep talk where it was started" folks, therefore I've copied your reply and answer here: I'm kind of worried that you create a huge referenced list alone. It's not like any other page I know, and there are rules in the direction of Wikipedia:NOTDIRECTORY ↗ against creating huge lists based on external links (the references on this page could be also considered as external links.) Maybe ask for a third opinion somewhere, because I think you put a lot of effort in the list, and I'm not confident that it won't be deleted. Proposed deletion ↗ of 24/7 Wall St. ↗

<!--<includeonly>}}</includeonly>-->
Hello, Shivertimbers433. I wanted to let you know that I’m proposing an article that you started, 24/7 Wall St. ↗, for deletion because I don't think it meets our criteria for inclusion. If you don't want the article deleted:

# Wall St.}}&action=edit edit the page ↗
# remove the text that looks like this: {{tlc|proposed deletion/dated...}}
# save the page

Also, ''be sure to explain why'' you think the article should be kept in your edit summary or on the article's talk page ↗. If you don't do so, it may be deleted later anyway.

You can leave a note on my talk page ↗ if you have questions.

Video formats

Per the instructions for {{tl|Infobox television}}, the <code>picture_format</code> field should be "the video or film format in which the show is or was originally recorded or broadcast". Aspect ratios are not a video format. This is not understood by many editors, which is why they are improperly included in some infoboxes. If you find these, you should remove them, rather than conform to an incorrect practice. Please note that the instructions also say not to use SDTV ↗ as it is ambiguous. --'''<span style="color:#008751;">Aussie</span><span style="color:#fcd116;">Legend</span>''' (<big>✉</big>) 19:04, 13 June 2017 (UTC)

A tag has been placed on :Frame.io ↗ requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion ↗, because the article appears to be about a company, corporation or organization that does not credibly indicate ↗ how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may '''contest the nomination''' by visiting the page ↗ and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". Robert Sarvis & the 2014 US Senate Election in Virginia

If you will read the talk section regarding this article you will find that "Result: Robert Sarvis should be included in the infobox.

"Two editors felt that Sarvis should be excluded from the infobox and five felt that he should be included. One editor appeared to be neutral/leaning exclude. Since there doesn't appear to be any clear dividing line between where a candidate should be included in an infobox and where they shouldn't (given that not all elections are alike, perhaps it is right that there should be no clear dividing line), I don't see what else can be done here except to go with the majority.

"It was claimed during the discussion that there is an existing consensus that candidates must get 5% or more in at least two opinion polls to qualify for the infobox, but I have not been able to find any evidence of this. If evidence is presented after the close, then I may be willing to take it into account."

VirginiaPolitics (talk) 18:16, 27 July 2025 (UTC)

:Consensuses based on pre-election polling are no longer in effect once the election takes place and the actual balloting is known. Since he didn't reach 5% in the actual results, he's doesn't qualify for the infobox anymore. See Wikipedia:Five percent rule ↗ and Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Elections_and_Referendums/Archive_12#RfC_on_5%_threshold ↗. There was a consensus to include Gary Johnson ↗ in the 2016 United States presidential election ↗ infobox before it took place because he polled 5%, and he was removed after the fact because he didn't reach that in actual results. -- Shivertimbers433 (talk) 17:20, 27 July 2025 (UTC)

There is no harm in including Sarvis in the election box and it is important given that it is quite rare for minor party and independent candidates to make the statewide ballot in Virginia. Deleting him is a way of silencing those who voted for him, much like the debate organizers did repeated to Sarvis during the election. Is there some reason why you feel it is necessary to delete him? Does including him offend you somehow? I'd rather not keep fighting you on this issue, but without a solid rational reason to exclude him, beside some arbitrary 5% threshold, I'll keep re-adding Sarvis into the graphic no matter how many times you delete him.

:The 5% threshold for infobox inclusion is based on established consensus among editors as a reasonable objective standard for significant electoral support. Since multiple editors have reverted you in line with that guideline, repeatedly re-adding him without broader agreement risks violating Wikipedia’s policies on consensus and edit warring. -Shivertimbers433 (talk) 04:08, 28 July 2025 (UTC)

Question about Rover

Hi, Shivertimbers433. I was looking through the Rover article's edit history and I see that made some substantial edits last year. I'm a Rover rep and I'm trying to address the "promotional content" banner by cleaning up the article and possibly deleting the finance section entirely. Could you look at the request I put together ↗? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. RoverDM (talk) 15:37, 25 September 2025 (UTC)

left|link=|alt=Notice|48px| ↗

The file :File:Book jacket of 107 Days.jpg ↗ has been proposed for deletion ↗&#32;because of the following concern:
<blockquote>'''redundant to :File:107 Days Kamala Harris.jpg ↗'''</blockquote>

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons ↗.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{Tlc|proposed deletion/dated files}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary ↗ or on the file's talk page ↗.

Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{Tlc|proposed deletion/dated files}} will stop the proposed deletion process ↗, but other deletion process ↗es exist. In particular, the speedy deletion ↗ process can result in deletion without discussion, and files for discussion ↗ allows discussion to reach consensus ↗ for deletion.<!-- Template:Proposed deletion notify --> —'''Matrix''' ping ↗ mewhen u reply (t? - c ↗) 21:49, 4 November 2025 (UTC)
